Disaster My husband called Friday about a vehicle, worked out a deal, had his credit run and told them we would be there the next day to look at/buy the car. T My husband called Friday about a vehicle, worked out a deal, had his credit run and told them we would be there the next day to look at/buy the car. Told them we lived 3.5 hrs away. Was told the car was fully functional and fully loaded. Got there the next day and the person he spoke with was not there. Didnt see the car when we pulled in the lot either. Got a salesman. Explained to him who he spoke with and what was discussed and again that we drove 3.5 hrs with our 2 small children. He was very nice, just fyi. He went and grabbed the wrong car. My husband told him that wasn't the car so the salesman went in to speak with someone. He came back out and said that the guy my husband spoke with said that he had the car put in the wash bay for my husband to come and look at. So, we got our kids out, put them in the dealer car and drove over to the wash bay. We all get out and he starts to look around. Car wasn't there. I forgot to mention it was raining. Rained all the way there and all the way home. He put us in an empty bay and told us he would be back. We waited 15-20 mins. Getting frustrated, we grabbed the kids and started walking back to the main building. Our guy met us about halfway, and explained that the car was given to another customer as a loaner......said he called the guy and asked him if he could return it because we were there to buy it. They came to an agreement that the customer would meet him halfway, they would give him another car and return with the car we were there to buy. Said it would be an hour and a half to two hours. Already having driven 3.5 hrs and our kids cooped up and now running all over the place, we said ok. He said he would be back. Came back and asked if it would be better for us to do the paperwork, bring it with us, follow him to the agreed meeting point (gas station) and look at the car there that way we would be at least 30 mins. closer to getting back home. We agreed. He asked my husband to go in to do paperwork. I stayed in the car because I was so angry. Over an hour later, the paperwork was finally done. We followed our guy to the gas station. Our car arrived a few minutes later and was pulled into the gas pumps. My husband couldn't get under it to fully check it out because of the rain and nasty ground at the gas station. He looked it over as best as he could. I looked inside, nice car. The back door handles were broken. I mentioned it to our salesman and showed him. Used car, my husband said he could fix them, no biggie. We agreed to take the car. He told us to call If we find anything wrong or if we need anything. He apologized profusely, and honestly I feel bad for him because none of this was his fault. He just got stuck with a bad situation. So, we started the rest of our drive home. Upon following my husband in the car I noticed the brake lights were stuck on. I flashed my lights at him to pull over just to make sure the emergency brake wasn't on, it wasn't. He said it was probably a bad sensor. Finally got home 2.5 hrs later. He told me the cruise control didnt work either. Tested out the 4 wheel drive in our yard because that was the whole reason we were buying the car and that didnt work either. Car sitting, sorry, stuck in our yard. Called the next business day and talked to our salesman, explained all of the defects and he asked me if I could drive the car back to them so they could look at it. I told him no because it's a 6+ hr round trip and suggested that we bring it to our local chevy dealer. He agreed and said to have them call and let them know what they find and we would go from there. Pulled the car out of our yard (thank goodness for our tractor!) and dropped it off at the local chevy. They found that the front axle switch circuit ($194) needed to be replaced. The dealership wanted over $400 for them to fix it. Or, $314.44 for the part and diagnostic test for us to fix it ourselves. So, after the 2 dealerships spoke with each other, our salesman talked to his manager and decided that they would help us pay for the part and diagnostic check for us to fix ourselves. We were told by our salesman that his manager, "didnt want to pay over $150 but he talked him into another $50." So, after all of that, after everything we had to deal with, they wouldn't even fully pay for the 4 wheel drive to be fixed. We paid $114.44 and they paid $200. We also fixed the sensor for the brake lights ($28)and that fixed the cruise control issue. Bottom line, no, I wouldn't buy another car from them or recommend them to anyone. Bad customer service all the way around with the exception of our poor salesman. More
I have had a great experience, they are always friendly. They will pick my car up from and return it to me when they are finished and that is a great help to me.
