We initially went to Walser GMC because of their reputation for philanthropy and their support of charitable causes, and because they had the vehicle we were looking for . I wish I could say they conduct their business in a manner consistent with the values they claim to hold. We bought a used 2006 Ford Explorer from them in November. They showed us a checklist that indicated everything had been checked out and approved. Now, in March, we started having shifting issues, and they told us to bring it in to have it checked out. We drove all the way there from St. Louis Park, only then to be told they don't have the equipment to test or diagnose Ford transmissions. (So HOW did they ever check it out to begin with, that made them indicate on the checklist that the transmission was fine??). So we had to drive it over to Midway Ford, where they diagnosed an issue that cost us $1700.00, with the caveat that there may be additional work needed. My husband went back to Walser GMC to ask them for documentation that the vehicle had been maintained per the recommended schedule. (They had also told us that the vehicle belonged to the brother of one of the sales people and that he took excellent car of it and had all the recommended servicing done). Of course, now they seem to have no recollection of that conversation or any brother or a sales person. Midway Ford has offered us a discount on the labor for related future repairs, but we've gotten NOTHING from Walser. We will NEVER buy from a Walser dealership again (and we actually have 2 more cars to replace in the next couple of years), and you can be sure that we will be telling all of our friends of this awful experience. I felt really fortunate to have Andrei as my dealer at Walser. Immediately upon walking into the dealership the atmosphere was a lot better than other dealerships I had stopped into. Customer Service was good-great. Both Andrei and Matthew were very friendly, helpful, and answered any questions I had. The only negative thing I can come up with is that I had an appt. at 2 and Andrei was were very friendly, helpful, and answered any questions I had. Both salesmen did a great job on their end. On the negative side, it took a very long time waiting for the paper work to be printed and have the vehicle ran through the car wash. It wasn't a big deal but I was told it would take aprox. 15 min. and I sat for nearly an hour. Friendliness- Great cant complain about both salesman friendliness and personality. Overall Experience- good. Take away the time spent waiting and I would have chosen great. Price- Cant complain. vehicle stated around $24,000 and I paid $19,998. According to Blue Book it was lower then a clean trade-in. More
