The gear shifter was stuck in P, and I could not get it to budge. I called Volvo service line as a hail mary, and a very polite and kind guy - Chris- answered and brainstormed a bit, and with his deductive reasoning told me to try hit the brake hard in case it was stuck and sure enough, it worked. He followed up with a bit of advice that if this happens a lot, or again, that is it not a fluke and to bring it in. This was stellar service, and a very welcome experience. Last week when I called about replacing the mirror on the C30 - the glue failed and it just fell off, right in front of my eyes while I was driving. I asked a simple question if this was part of the extended warranty, and was sent to a man in the warranty area. Our interaction was much different. I was left confused and a bit put off, as he was condescending, and treated me as if I was both stupid and dishonest. It was not a very rich customer service experience, truthfully. Today’s experience with the gentleman from your department was so rewarding, it effectively erased the nasty treatment I received from warranty guy. I think I get to see him tomorrow when I bring the C30 in for the repair so that he may decide to send it in to the company as a matter of manufacture. Third incidence of glue failure, to me says manufacture issue. I wanted you to know, your span of control in your area continues to deliver the kind of customer service that has kept me at Volvo. In the end, the customer sees the service element in every encounter they have from service, to parts to warranty to sales. I am sure, though the actual Service Department serves a defined function, a Volvo customer sees service as more of a comprehensive experience that includes each conversation with each person there. Thank you for always being one of the most reliably positive elements at Volvo of Tucson. T More

The adaptive cruise control and blind spot indicators are wonderful. The size and handling art perfect. It is a joy to drive and is not as fatiguing as other vehicles we have owned on long road trips. To buy or lease, Rob Waterman can't be beat. He actually listens to his customers, and after asking a few questions he takes you right to the car you want. We have bought two Volvos from Rob. He has a strong sense of fair play, and makes it extremely easy to purchase or lease. (We've done both.) We went in for service yesterday. Garret Gebhart (the new Service Manager), Chris Beittenmiller and Alexis Zelaya were all very impressive. They were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We had a chance to talk with Garret and was impressed with his vision for service department. I have owned three Volvos, all from this dealership, and always serviced there too. Each visit was friendly and resulted in a positive experience. They are honest and forthright, you never need to worry about getting ripped off or taken advantage of. This is the reason we always buy Volvos, and always from this dealership. More
Excellent Service by Mr. Garrett Gebhart Garrett was so far the best Service Manager my husband and I met in the auto service industry for 15 years stay in Tucson. Garrett has delivered the Garrett was so far the best Service Manager my husband and I met in the auto service industry for 15 years stay in Tucson. Garrett has delivered the highest and such a class customer service that we believe put Volvo as the best company in terms of their employees and service. Garrett is very honest, stand behind his word, firm, direct to the point yet very friendly and professional. We are Volvo for life because of our service experience with Garrett. Volvo was there for us when we had the worst experience in our life time with this other auto service company in town (non-Volvo service shop) who really very dishonest and damaged and trashed our XC90 which put our entire family together (with our 11 year-old boy) in very dangerous driving experience. We know that we had to bring the vehicle to the dealership (Volvo). From the day we step in to Volvo Service Center, we were greeted by the most highly professional staff, which we have not ever experienced this type of professionalism and helpfulness by any dealership that we’ve had visited in Tucson. Other dealership like Honda service center, staff are also good but not to the level that we had with Garrett’s team, not a Volvo experience. Garrett accurately captured our concerns and issues about the car. From that very day we got into that facility, he helped us through in every step of the way, he followed up with a phone call, he let us know where he’s team were at in terms of the status, findings of the inspection, cost, and what to expect. He stood behind the facts and helped us through while this non-Volvo service center continued to conduct themselves in a very disgusting and manipulative/bullies manner. We can’t thank Garrett enough. He even came to work on one Sunday just to produce the information we’re requesting from him related this recent service dealings we had with him. I am sure, this is way beyond of his normal deliverables under his responsibility but Garrett is one of a kind, rare find manager. For Volvo owners/drivers, I highly recommend to bring your vehicle to Volvo Service Center Tucson even if your car is not new. I did not find them expensive at all and you get more than the value of your money. The service they provide is guaranteed, 100% with quality and honest. The most important and priceless though is that, you take your vehicle out from their lot feeling that you are driving a vehicle that was taken cared well with honest true care and that you are safe. Again, Garrett is the best service manager we found in the automotive service industry so far. His mechanics sure know what they are doing and because of his and team excellent service, we are Volvo for life no doubt! Thank you Garrett and we look forward to bring our car for some other maintenance needs soon. From the Eberbach family! More

What a pleasant surprise!! Great service and not outpriced I contacted Garret Gebhart (service manager) directly due to age of vehicle and as a last resort. My 1998 had had the same parts of A/C replaced 2X without successfully fixing my problem. I had several other problems but none so pressing. I requested an overall look at the vehicle with a repair estimate. When Garret quoted me a detailed estimate with prices on about 10 repair items I was not surprised. I was however surprised and very pleased that he did no pressure to deal with all issues and decide right away. Fix everything-about $4,000 (about the blue book of the car) and I really needed the A/C to stay in AZ. Decided to do about 3/4 of the work because a new car was not what I wanted to afford. Garret was outstanding throughout the process. He put one great mechanic, Mike Johnson, on my car. It took some time and 2 trips for the A/C (don't forget 2 other shops, 4 identical parts, 6 trips, and no fix over 18 months) and the system runs like it hasn't in 10 years-I had forgotten what was normal. No here's the kicker-the charges for my parts were almost exactly what I paid independent shops. One leaking part was fixed for labor only. Not this leak was present 12 years ago in Colorado. So 3 shops over 12 years never fixed (parking over cardboard in garage since about 2000. All quotes had been lots of labor to maybe fix (2K+). Garret and Mike got it done for less than $750. Little niggling problems I had been told to ignore turned out to be as easy as unplugging the power to unneeded headlight wipers (that intemittantly stuck upright). Mike even fixed a broken rear seat without parts that had quoted independently at up to $700-no charge with the 8 other items I did fix. I expected to dump the car and didn't want to (I'm out for the 350K club) do it. Volvo of Tucson, Service Manager Garret Gebhart and mechanic Mike Johnson saved my car, wallet and sanity. Yep! the next week I had my wife's 1996 (75K) Volvo in and used the money I didn't have to spend on her car. note: the cruise control I had evaluated independently for 2K was fixed for less than $250 parts and labor. I couldn't be more pleased. I'm still holding my breath for the 100 degree+ days, but I'm finally feeling assured that Garret and Mike can keep my Volvo on the road to classic status. Thanks Mark M More

Although I had heard that they were expensive, I was happy to hear that they would accept an older Volvo like mine. Also, the service agent who answered the phone was polite and helpful, so I made an appointment. When I arrived, I was greeted by Michelle, who would help me throughout the process. The waiting room was clean, comfortable, and stocked with plenty of coffee and desserts. Although the wait was long, over three hours, the time passed quickly and comfortably. Finally, Michelle informed me that the car was ready. Not only was the problem fixed, the car had been washed. The biggest surprise was that, in this case, there was no charge. Hard to believe in this day and age, but now I know where I can continue to take my car whenever it needs service. More
