The Service Dept. explained the issue was a needed software update. As a result, they charged me nothing. And I was able to get a loaner car to do my errands and pick explained the issue was a needed software update. As a result, they charged me nothing. HORRIBLE! ! Bought my car from Volvo of Manasquan 2 1/2 years ago. Paid approximately $45,000 for the car. Did all maintenance regularly. When I went in ! Bought my car from Volvo of Manasquan 2 1/2 years ago. Paid approximately $45,000 for the car. Did all maintenance regularly. When I went in for a service check they said the bill would be $7,500!!! However, some of the work they recommended already I already had done 5,000 miles ago (eg. spark plugs)! Yet they are recommending changing them again!! So, I waited a few days and called back to have only 2 of the 12 items they suggested I have done. I already paid $800 in diagnostic fees for those 2 services and was also told that money would be applied to the work if I had it done there. Their service guy, Sean Burke, said since | left they couldn't apply the $800 | already paid them despite what he stated earlier. Sean said, "My guys can't work for free." I re-explained I gave them my business by purchasing the car from them 2 1/2 years ago, by bringing my car back over that 2 years period and *I JUST PAID THEM $800 IN DIAGNOSTIC FEES*. That's NOT working for free. COMPLETE RIP-OFF!! I'm sending copies of all interactions with this Volvo dealer to the BBB, Attorney General (NJ), Division of Consumer Affairs (NJ) as well as Volvo Corporate. More
