Check Stop Lamp I went to the Volvo of Lisle Service Center today to replace a tail light on my 2011 Volvo C30 R-Design. I asked if the bulb could be replaced without bringing my car into the mechanics and was told by a Service Manager, Scott Arrandale, that it wouldn't be an issue for my car. He seemed nice at first. I relied on Scott to visually evaluate my tail lights as I pressed my brake to identify the proper bulb that needed to be replaced. I ending up purchasing 4 bulbs overall to be replaced. After replacing multiple bulbs on two separate occasions, the Check Stop Lamp message still wouldn't turn off. I wasn't upset that Scott had twice made an error in his assessment--the bulbs were cheap--but after the second attept he told me it was the upper left tail light, that he “wasn't working for free anymore” and my “tail light had to be removed” by the mechanics. I politely questioned the factuality of his statement, because there's an access panel that pops right out in the interior of my car behind the bulb. He wouldn't reply back to me at all and continued to sit at his desk ignoring me. The Parts Department came out and was able identify the proper light bulb right away. They were very helpful unlike Scott. I removed the access panel and replaced the bulb with ease. Scott was trying to charge me an extra $120.00 for the mechanics to work on my car. After I expressed my dissatisfaction that he lied to me to make money, he chased after me out of the building repeatedly yelling “hey” and told me to “never come back”. This is Volvo of Lisle. While there is another dealer closer to my home, it was worth the trip to Lisle to go to their service center. James and staff definitely live up to the Volvo name and offer exceptional service. On 09/20/16, we had scheduled an appointment with Volvo of Lisle to have our windshield replaced. At this point, we had the windshield ordered and set a week after delivery to have the work completed. Volvo apparently does not have anyone qualified to do the work so they sublet the work to a vendor unbeknownst to us. Our service advisor, Scott, was to schedule the vendor to complete the work on the 20th. After dropping off our vehicle that morning we were told it take a complete day for the windshield to be replaced and sealer to set. As we drove off, we felt we made a good decision going with this dealership and when they sent us a text to advise if we had any questions or concerns to just respond to that text… we felt it confirmed it. Around 3:30 that day I texted to see if everything was progressing, no response. Some time later, around 5:00 pm, we called to determine the status of our repair. At that time, we found out no vendor was scheduled and our time had been wasted. Really? Why wasn’t I called? Scott assured me that he would start work early the next day and he would be right on it and we would have a vehicle back mid-to-late afternoon. Day two, we texted mid day to see if our vehicle was ready, again, no response (not a surprise at this point). So we called, no one answered so we left a voice message that went unanswered as well. Finally, calling the general number, the receptionist got Scott on the phone for us and we learn our vehicle was finally ready well after 5:00pm. Through this whole process Scott never apologize for the lack of scheduling a vendor, wasting our time and his failure to response to any of our inquiries. We contacted the GM that evening, Thomas, to voice our dissatisfaction. All he would say is that the treatment was not acceptable. Never once did he ask us how do we make it right by you. The next day he called to offer us a free detailing to make things right. We told him, to keep the free detailing, just have Scott call and says he is sorry for how this whole thing was handle. Scott never called. For me, that enough to say I am done doing business with a company that only wants my money and is not concern with its customer relations. Fortunately, we live in an area where we have options for our servicing. More
Despicable Management. I'd been taking my '98 XC70 to Volvo of Lisle since I bought it. However, the taste that lingers in the mouth is from the last thing we eat. 2 weeks ago I had the car towed in with a fuel leak, but 3 days later they told me it was irreparable. Today, I realized their interest level in the customer drops from 100% to 0% the minute they realize there is no more money to be made. After paying around $8,000/= in repairs over 3 years, the Service Manager made me pay another $145/= to practically tell me to take my piece of crap off their parking lot. This is the Volvo that Volvo of Lisle had maintained since the day I bought it. On top of that they charged me for an unsolicited "rental", which I had returned the day they told me about my car. And all this after lying to me for 10 days about a 2008 Volvo the Service Manager said he had, that he could sell to me. The Sales Department denied having such a car. Despicable ethics, despicable management, never again. More
