Intentionally sold duplicate warranties The following is my opinion: I purchases a "Certified Used Vehicle" from Volvo of Phoenix in June of 2016. All initial outward appearances of the deal The following is my opinion: I purchases a "Certified Used Vehicle" from Volvo of Phoenix in June of 2016. All initial outward appearances of the dealership seemed to be clean, but there were NO other customers either on the lot or in the showroom. In retrospect this should have been the first red flag. E.J., who is the general manager with an overbearing, arrogant attitude with a lack of any obvious intelligence. This man seems to exactly represent the stereotypical used car salesman that we have all come to despise. He was the second and third red flags. E.J. at the 11 hour of the transaction wanted to up charge me $1,000 for paying cash. Of course, I refused and threaten to walk. He quickly became angry and stomped away like a immature 2 year old throwing a temper tantrum. The SUV I purchased was only to be considered a "Certified" used car IF I purchased the warranty from the finance department located next door at the bustling Toyota dealership. I subsequently purchased the warranty for $2,300 believing that I must purchase this SINGLE warranty to receive the benefits of the "Certified" used car status. Imagine my surprise when this "Certified" used car, only a couple months later had a mechanical issue. Upon taking the vehicle to a different, more reputable Volvo dealership, I was informed that I had (2) warranties not (1) like I was led to believe. The CPO (Certified Pre Owned) AND MPP (Mechanical Protection Plan). I was informed that the (2) warranties were substantially the same warranties and that this was potentially fraudulent sales practices. I promptly contacted MPP and was told that I actually had paid them $900 for their warranty of the $2,300 total paid. They were very helpful and provided the form to request a refund, which I did. I was then refunded $715 out of the $900. $185 was not refunded due to prorated amount and early termination fee. I contacted Volvo of Phoenix to discuss the duplicated warranties expecting that they had merely made a mistake. I couldn't really believe that Volvo would allow one of their dealerships to intentionally deceive one of their customers. After requesting to speak to E.J. a couple of time, with no return calls, I decided to communicate via email. I requested the $185 that was not refunded to be refunded by Volvo of Phoenix as they had made this 'mistake'. I was told by the Finance Manager and the General Manager (E.J) that this duplicated warranty was NOT a mistake and they initially sold me BOTH these warranties and I should have read the fine print. After a couple of emails back and forth, E.J. agreed to pay the $185 IF I would sign a 'general waiver' which would waive any and all past, present or future claims that may come up in the future in reference to this vehicle. I would have to agree not to share my opinion(s) on Facebook, My Space, Dealer Rater, Yahoo, Google, BBB, Yelp, Attorney's General Office ect. This general release was signed by Midway Holdings, inc. DBA Volvo of Phoenix by Eugene J. Schneider. I promptly refused because I felt sharing my experience with all of you, and retaining the ability to sue if something serious happened to this vehicle in the future was worth more than $185. I also contacted Volvo USA and they said the dealerships are not within their control. It is kind of a 'Buyer Beware' and they are solely owned and operated. Hence the wonderful reviews at many of the Volvo Dealerships across the state and nation, but NOT Volvo of Phoenix. Incidentally, it appears the reviews at Volvo of Phoenix started to deteriorate coincidentally at the same time as E.J. became the General Manager. Customers have the choice as to were they spend their hard earned money. Choose wisely. As for me, my family, and my friends, we will never purchase another vehicle from E.J. or Volvo of Phoenix. Looking at other reviews, E.J. Is the reason the customer service began and continues to slide into the proverbial abyss. More
Worst experience of my life!!! On Friday me and my sister called them all the way from Odessa,Tx on a Tahoe we liked. I called and spoke to a salesman named Will. I explained in DET On Friday me and my sister called them all the way from Odessa,Tx on a Tahoe we liked. I called and spoke to a salesman named Will. I explained in DETAIL we had our own financing and my bank would be sending them "drafting instructions" once my sister signed and he agreed that was ok. My sister signs and the bank faxes them the drafting instructions. On monday morning my sister flew 800 miles to Phoenix to pick up the vehicle and upon arrival they ask her "where's the check" after both myself and the loan officer explained it was going to be drafting instructions. The "GM" EJ Spincer came out to talk to my sister and says "I take it this is the first time you buy a vehicle from out of state, I don't benefit from selling this car today or next week". We have purchased 4 other vehicles from out of state. My sister just flew in 800 miles to purchase a $40000 vehicle and that's how the "GM" is going to say hello to her? So she calls me crying saying that they're being jerks to her and I call the salesman Will. he apologizes for EJ being mean to my sister and apologizes for not telling us they NEED all funds before they release the vehicle. The bank is telling them directly this whole time that "yes she's approved for the full amount, all you have to do is title the vehicle and you will get your funds", then they tell my sisters bank "we don't know how you approved her for a second auto loan if she's late 2 months". What business is it of theirs how she was approved, all that matters is that she was approved for the car they were selling. They then told her she needed a "back up" just in case her bank doesn't pay the Tahoe. Funny thing is they approved her with the same bank that she was "2 months" behind on. so 7 hours later they finally decide to release the car to her. What should've been explained to an out of town customer was never once mention in any of the 10 phone conversations we had before she flew in. Not once was it said that she had to come in with a "check", they agreed on taking the drafting instructions. All you out of town people looking to purchase from here be very cautious. These guys are viscous and have no care for any of their customers. More
They tried every trick in the book! BUYER BEWARE! I went on 6/20/2016 to Volvo of Phoenix because I found a 2015 Toyota Corolla S online. After talking to Will, I test drove it and I li BUYER BEWARE! I went on 6/20/2016 to Volvo of Phoenix because I found a 2015 Toyota Corolla S online. After talking to Will, I test drove it and I liked it but there was a pull to the right while I was driving and the tires on the car did not match (the front 2 were Bridgestone the back 2 were each different tire companies). I told them I did like the price at 14,499 but I wanted the alignment fixed and a set of new tires that matched. I spoke with Doug about the pricing of the sale. He did not want to put new tires but finally said he would split them with me and he would eat the alignment cost taking the price up to 14,899. I don't think asking for matching tires and an alignment fix are too much to ask but for them, it seemed like big inconvenience. This is the sketchy part. The ran my credit and I had a very good score and HALF to put down in cash. Doug and Sam both told me "your WORST CASE scenario is 7.5% interest rate but get back to financing and they will give you the best case scenario." Okay sounds good except Sam kept wanting a check for 7k right there BEFORE I even went to financing and I said no, I want to know my best case scenario in terms of an interest rate. Then to fix the tires and alignment they give us a "We Owe You." It had nothing about what tires, brand, or anything....so vague. Finally we get back to financing which is actually next door at Midway Nissan and everything unravels. First, they want you to sign a Payment Penalty document saying for 6 months you are not allowed to pay off or refinance your vehicle. No thanks, if I can pay it off in 2 months I don't want to be stopped by a payment penalty. Then in order to make the deal I HAD to purchase the warranty they offered. With warranty (that I didn't want) my interest would go down to 3,49%...since I didn't want it, my interest would remain at 7.5%. I continuously told them, please shop this around and give me my best case scenario as far as an interest rate. They would not, they told me to sign the contract at 7.5% and the next day they would call with a better number after they shop it. There was no way I was signing a contract at a rate and locking that in and hoping they would call me back for a lower one...why would they with my signature on a higher rate?? Eric was the finance guy and he wasn't half bad but he kept pushing this $2200 warranty on me that I DID NOT WANT. Then one guy said it was a 2 year warranty...then it turned into a 4 year...then back to a 2 year. Just so sketchy. Then a tall blonde girl comes in and asks the issue and I repeat myself and she says, "Well 7.5 is the best you're getting." I told her I had been hearing for 3 hours now that 7.5 was the WORST case scenario and it would get shopped around. Now worst case became my only case scenario. So we said thanks but no thanks and then the sales manager comes in and asks why the deal wasn't getting done. I tell him the story again and now he said, "Well I am the one who wrote the contract at 7.99%." What?! When did that number come into play?? We got up and left. We were followed out by Will who was the only guy who seemed worth a darn there. He tried to save it but it was over. The kicker is before we went into financing, Sam said they were taking the car around back to detail and get the tires and alignment done...as we left, the car was still sitting in the same spot, still same unmatching tires on it. The next morning Doug calls to ask me what happened and he gives me every line in the book to get me to go buy it, he even pulled the, "Well I have someone here looking at it...you sure you don't want it?" He tried telling me we shook on 7.99% when I know we didn't, "Worst case scenario" were DOUGS exact words. Sam called back to tell me it was sold to someone else which was perfect because I got a much better car and experience at Infinity of Scottsdale. Please save yourself and go somewhere else. I feel bad for anyone who has been taken advantage of by Volvo of Phoenix/Midway Nissan. More

I never never see that many inexperienced people that they call them selfs " technicians or parts specialist " . If you disconnect there computers they can't find there way of that chair they all seat on it. I try to get brake pads for my Volvo XC90 on 06/07/16 I return with them the next day because they give me the wrong parts. So after that 4 parts "specialist "they could not find a simple brake pad. Because the computers told them that's the part that my car needs. So now my question is what in the world you guys doing at Volvo working as a parts specialist or technicians when you don't know anything about a simple brake pad. I even took them drawing to Mach it . And they keep telling me the wright size it the one the computer shows. Again the computers makes those people "specialist and technicians ". WOW unbelievable.. So naw they try to tell me That the rotors on the car they are wrong. The car it been in the family for many years never change the rotors.(always found the right pads but never at Volvo )But was easy to just say the problem it on the car not on them ..."" Let's change the car because the tire don't fit on it"" that's how they think it right way to do. After all I decided to return and get my money back because there was nobody that could help me at all. Now for the parts that I paid 154.97$ in cash they told me that they are going to send me a check in about 15 days I should recive it. I ask them wy . They said that over 50$ parts they can't return in cash. It doesn't say that on the invoice at all. SHAME ON YOU VOLVO of Phoenix parts, service and cashiers. More

It was a quite Sunday which was nice, after helping other people Mr. Will Taylor asked me what I wanted and showed me a 2014 Toyota Camry. When I told him I brought my own financing he told me the price will go up to $1000.00 more than the advertised price. After they have my information back and forth and a lot of maneuvering and three hours later, I was told by Mr. EJ Schneider which I found out later from their website a sales manager , told me I have to finance it for 72 months and more percentage than I get from my bank. When I tried to explain to him that I have a certificate from the bank, he was very irritated and I have to leave politely. I could have paid the additional money if the terms were according to my bank. Business is a two way street they can sale their car whatever price they want, but It should be with courtesy and respect. For me I took my business somewhere else. FT More

After coming to an agreement with dealership on repairs & costs....we now, 5 days later, are having trouble with the car not starting/cranking over properly....Volvo Phx says it's just a coincidence that we are having these problems now and has nothing to do with work they performed. BS to that and to Volvo Phx for not owning up to being the cause of the new non-starting issues. More
