They were able to fit me in mid-day, and had a diagnosis in less than an hour and repaired within 2 hours. The problem was fixed, the car returned vacuumed and washed and a cup of coffee while I waited. It is always like this, and I cannot imagine better service experience anywhere. Always dependable! Good Samaritan Thursday, January 31, 2019, my wife and I were on our way to Easton, Maryland to close on the sale of a second home we had in the family for 33 years Thursday, January 31, 2019, my wife and I were on our way to Easton, Maryland to close on the sale of a second home we had in the family for 33 years. About two miles west of Annapolis on Route 50 our 2005 Volvo XCE lost power and went into "reduced power mode". We pulled over and restarted and it resumed normal power, but when we put on the cruise control, it went to low power again. We pulled over, restarted and while the engine got back to full power, out of concern that we might break down again, we left the cruise control off and drove slowly to Annapolis Volvo where I had stopped in previous years for service. Our regular DC area dealer is Ourisman Volvo of Bethesda (formerly Martins). Mr. Turner the service rep was sympathetic and extremely helpful. We had an 11:00 a.. closing at Eastern Title and it was 10:30 when we arrived at Annapolis Volvo. Mr. Turner said he'd need to run a diagnostic before declaring the car safe and it might take a few hours. He offered a loaner car so we could make our closing. We arrived in Easton only about 20 minutes late and the closing took place. As it turned out the car needed parts that had to be ordered and would not be ready for at least 4 days. But the loaner car saved our lives as we drove it back to DC following the closing and, as predicted by Mr. Turner, our 2005 Volvo was ready on Monday, Feb. 5. We are shall be forever grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown us by the staff at Annapolis Volvo. So much so, that when I picked up our repaired XCE on Tuesday, the 5th, I went to the showroom and looked at the 2019 XC 60s. Mr. Lam waited on me and sent me materials. Thank you Annapolis Volvo for being there for us. Stephen Danzansky More
XC60 Tire noise I purchased an XC60 and at 20K miles I complained about tire noise and wobbling. They checked it out and said there was nothing they could do about it I purchased an XC60 and at 20K miles I complained about tire noise and wobbling. They checked it out and said there was nothing they could do about it because of the brand of tires that came with it. I returned at 30K with the same problem and talked to Anthony the Sales Manager and he said he would see what he could do but never got back to me or returned my calls. Not a customer friendly dealership. An expensive car should not have those problems. More
Awful experience at Volvo Cars Annapolis I purchased a brand new Volvo XC 90 inscription from Volvo of Annapolis and absolutely fell in love with the vehicle. Unfortunately this changed afte I purchased a brand new Volvo XC 90 inscription from Volvo of Annapolis and absolutely fell in love with the vehicle. Unfortunately this changed after taking it in for the first service and a factory recall on the airbags. Annapolis Volvo service department completely destroyed the interior of my vehicle ranging from grease all over the blonde interior, the random screws left in the cup holder that I assume should be holding something in place, scratches on the interior plastic, breaking the sunshade motor, loose headliner, interior columns not lining up correctly and coming undone, chips out of the paint from the service department taking it to a third party without my consent and even leaving the vehicle with less than 5 miles of fuel when picking it up, just to name a few. My vehicle has been back to the service department 3 times and these issues still go unresolved. The owner of Volvo Cars Annapolis completely brushed me off and put these problems on the VP of Volvo Cars Annapolis (Pat Wergin) who at best made nothing more than empty promises who has also wiped his hands clean of the problems caused by his service department. I have been left with no choice but to sell the vehicle and go back to Mercedes as I refuse to deal with this kind of customer service. Volvo wants to market themselves in the luxury vehicle category however the service department does not reflect the purchase of a 70k vehicle. I will absolutely not recommend Volvo Cars of Annapolis and will be reporting them to the appropriate agencies. More
Service department are dishonest thieves I needed a breather valve replaced on my 2008 V-50. It's a known problem, covered under recall for most cars but not my particular VIN. Was told that I needed a breather valve replaced on my 2008 V-50. It's a known problem, covered under recall for most cars but not my particular VIN. Was told that if I had done my oil servicing at the dealer they would have been able to take care of me, but since I hadn't I was out of luck. That's pretty poor (I put s l e a z y but apparently DealerRater doesn't want any Volvo dealer called that so they say it's a profane word!) for a Volvo dealer, but OK, how much will it cost to replace? I'm told it's six hours of labor "per the Volvo shop manual" so I get charged for 6 hours plus the part, no matter what. I buy the OEM part for almost half what they quoted, spend 15 minutes watching a YouTube video on how to change the part and 45 minutes changing it. I timed it, just to be sure. Now presumably Annapolis Volvo has professional mechanics on staff, who are experts on working on Volvos. Which means that if this weekend warrior could do the job in an hour they could easily do it in less. And yet they are going to charge me for 6 hours of work, because that's what the service manual says. How is that not illegal again? How often do they do this. I just bought a brand new 2018 XC-90. I went with Overseas Delivery from a dealer in NC and am picking up at Silver Springs Volvo. I will NEVER buy a car or spend a dime in service at Annapolis Volvo, business that was there's to loose since I live 5 minutes away from the dealership and will be buying Volvos for the next 30 years. Poor customer service It seems to be the case that every time this dealership's SERVICE department messes up, they do everything except apologize. Stop with the excuses and It seems to be the case that every time this dealership's SERVICE department messes up, they do everything except apologize. Stop with the excuses and just say "I'm sorry", which will earn you better respect. I have nothing bad to say about their SALES department, since they have always worked well in selling us vehicles with no pressure. But because the service department is lacking in deference towards their customers, it is time for me to find another Volvo dealership. More
