Worst Car Buying Experience of My Life After going back and forth with the dealership for over a week about the car I was driving 4.5 hours to purchase, everything seemed to be in order. W After going back and forth with the dealership for over a week about the car I was driving 4.5 hours to purchase, everything seemed to be in order. We touched base with them when we were about an hour away, and was advised the car was being washed and cleaned up, and all paperwork was being prepared. We arrived at the dealership at 2:00 p.m. We were introduced to the consultant we had been dealing with all week, and was quickly handed off to another individual who had just started. She had very little, to no knowledge about the vehicle we were purchasing. We took the car for a test drive, and returned to the dealership. We pointed out a few things on the car that we wanted cleaned up. We then went inside to start the paperwork process. Knowing we had driven 4.5 hours, and had a 4.5 hour drive home, I thought they would expedite the paperwork process. I was incorrect. The dealership left this new employee hanging. She was struggling with every aspect of the paperwork, and there was no one offering to help her. Long story short, the dealership closed at 7:00 pm. We were the LAST customers remaining, with a 4.5 hour drive a head of us. The consultant that was to show us all the benefits, perks, and settings of the car was long gone, and I was forced to figure that out on my own. When I asked about how the title worked since I was out of state, the employees remaining had no clue. I have bought many cars over the years, this being my first Volvo. Everyone raves about how they cater to their customers, and I have yet to see that. The lack of attention I received at this dealership was unacceptable. I wasn't offered anything to eat, and the only thing to drink was tiny bottles of water and terrible coffee. I love my car, but I am sorry I drove 4.5 hours to Volvo of Annapolis. I would have much rather given my business to a local dealership. The management of this dealership should be ashamed that they left this poor new girl all alone, especially with out of town customers. We should have been top priority so we could have been in and out in no time, especially when the deal and numbers were already agreed upon prior to arrival. They knew we had 2 small kids at home with a sitter, and needed to get back to them. I hope the dealership uses my horrible experience as a learning lesson, and that this doesn't happen to anyone else. More
