I was very disappointed with VW of West Islip, NY 11795. We went there to buy a VW because of advertised price drop but there really wasn't a price drop, there is a hidden $2000.00 down payment that they d We went there to buy a VW because of advertised price drop but there really wasn't a price drop, there is a hidden $2000.00 down payment that they didn't include in the advertised price. If you advertise for $24,000.00 but it's really $26,000.00 you should just advertise that price. The salesperson was studdering his way through that question and claimed every other dealer was doing the same "false advertising " scam. We had just visited a Volvo dealership before this VW dealership and Volvo didn't have any hidden downpayment, if you make a downpayment it pays that portion of the advertised price. The car was a certified VW but in reality is was a certified xxxx box!! I've never seen a 2 year old certified car in such poor shape. They advertised bumper to bumper for first 2 years but they didn't want to fix any of the broken inside and outside of the car. Bumper to bumper means "Bumper to Bumper"!! More

As for the dealership, they could have been a bit more transparent on a few things and the car wasn't detailed to a standard I would consider acceptable, but otherwise I would still give them a 4 out of 5 stars.
