I recently purchased a 2013 VW Golf TDI from Nadia DiDonato at Atlantic VW. It was one of the easiest, most fun car buying experiences of my life--and I have purchased over 20 cars in my lifetime. Nadia is the epitome of great customer service and works very hard to ensure her customers are educated about the VW products while comfortable during the sales process. Nadia let me take the TDI for a nice long test drive, on varying types of roads to really get a feel for the car. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the car and all VW products. When we returned to the dealership, Nadia put together a great lease on the car with the help of her sales manager, Joe, and the General Manager, Romaine. As I’m very familiar with leasing and the car dealership industry in general, they gave me “a deal I could not refuse” and I was very satisfied with the outcome. Even better, they had the car prepped, washed, and ready for delivery within 2-3 hours of my agreeing to lease the car. They even went so far as to follow me home in the car I arrived in (I did not trade anything) and drive me back to the dealership so I could drive the new car home. Nadia arranged every step of the purchase and simply put, made the process as hassle free as possible. It was a real joy working with her and learning so much about the VW products. Everyone at Atlantic VW was extremely friendly and customer focused. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the afternoon there buying a car. How many people can say that they ENJOYED the process of buying a car?!?! More

To Whom It May Concern: I would like to lodge a formal To Whom It May Concern: I would like to lodge a formal complaint about the appalling business practices of Mr. Paul Hart, the Pre-Owned Manager of To Whom It May Concern: I would like to lodge a formal complaint about the appalling business practices of Mr. Paul Hart, the Pre-Owned Manager of the Atlantic Volkswagen dealership located is West Islip, New York. Let me begin by explaining that my husband and I have been looking for a very specific car that is within our budget in order to accommodate our newly expanding family. Our search has been going on for approximately six months and we’ve had quite a time finding the ‘right car for us.’ At last on September 27, 2013 my husband, Jeff M., located exactly what we wanted at the above named dealership. He found the car listed on several car sales websites as well as ebay.com. Knowing that this was exactly what we needed and very difficult to find he immediately completed a ‘buy now’ transaction on eBay. He called to inquire about the car and being pleased with what he heard he placed a down payment of $500 on the car and arranged for the dealer to fax a Bill of Sale to our Federal Credit Union so that paperwork could be processed for our pre-approved loan and payment in full could be made for this vehicle. We were both excited and overjoyed to finally have the perfect car! To our dismay, we received a phone call this morning at 9:17am from Frank Parker at the dealership explaining that we would need to come from Harleysville, Pennsylvania to the dealership in West Islip, New York today by 6pm with the full payment or our car would be sold to someone else, despite our down payment and Bill of Sale. We tried to explain that this was not an appropriate request, seeing as we live three hours away and had plans to visit with family today, but were still faced with this ultimatum. Because we were so adamant to have this particular car we immediately set off to our branch of the Federal Credit Union. Our representative, Krista H. drew up the paperwork for our loan and called Atlantic Volkswagon to discuss our situation. She was eventually transferred to Paul Hart. Our representative explained that our loan was already drawn up and that she was issuing funds from the credit union for the specific vehicle that we had placed a down payment on. Paul still told her that we must have the funds to him today. She offered to have the money wired to the dealerships bank on Monday, September 30, 2013 so that the dealership could still meet their monthly quota. Paul told her that the bank does not accept wired funds. Finally we agreed to cancel our plans and drive the check from the Credit Union directly to the dealership this afternoon. When Krista explained this to Paul, Paul revealed that they were selling the car to someone else and that our offer would not be accepted. It should also be noted that the dealership had entered into a binding sales agreement with us through the eBay transaction and this business conduct can be categorized as internet fraud. Krista, Jeff, and I were all completely appalled that this type of business transaction had occurred. None of us have ever experienced such an underhanded and dastardly sales representative in our lives. We plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about Mr. Hart and Atlantic Volkswagen. I hope that you will discuss this event with Mr. Hart and sincerely encourage you to consider whether you want a businessman like him representing an internationally acclaimed company like Volkswagen. This has been the worst nightmare I could ever imagine. The first time I brought my car, which is under warranty, here they did not resolve my issues. Not to mention I was quoted $57 for an oil change, including tax, until it was time to pay. I dealt with Joe, the assistant manager, and he tried to charge me about $20 more. I argued with him, and presented a coupon for 20% off which showed no limitations, and he gave me a hard time about taking that as well. He explained that he would be under service cost if he took it, etc. That is NOT my problem. He finally took my coupon and said that it was time for him to leave and he's not going to argue with me. Needless to say, I never wanted to come to this place again. Two days after I got my car back from them, my check engine light illuminated. My transmission also started acting up again, which was an initial complaint. At this point I contacted VW customer care and escalated up to the executive manager, who was very helpful. I ended up having to come back here and who other than Joe was the only one available in the service office. I asked for the manager right away. When joe saw him come in, he took him outside for a second to speak to him. I knew right away this was going to be a pain in my rear. So I explained to the service manager, Juan Carlos, that I needed to have x y and z repaired and they should have been repaired last week and I needed to leave here by 11:30 am to get to work. They took my car in and began to look at it. He said they don't give loaner vehicles for CPO cars...yet last week they gave me one without an issue. It is now 1pm and I am late for work. I was told that VW will pay for my hertz rental and there wouldn't be any cost to me. Juan said they just need my credit card to put on file but it wouldn't be charged. Two hours later my rental isn't here, so I finally called myself. There is a $200 refundable deposit that I have to put down. That's not happening. This is complete bull. Why should I have to pay anything out of pocket when I'm already being inconvenienced??? Earlier on when I asked for the hertz number from Juan, he refused to give it to me at first, then finally gave it up. He said, "you got us in trouble, and you're very pushy. We don't like pushy people." This guy is a complete you know what. I was completely appalled that he would speak to anyone like that, let alone a customer. Now I have to wait 2 more hours until ONE problem on my car is done, which will make me even later to work. I called VW back and they told me the dealer refused to give me a courtesy car. Don't ever come here, these people are very nasty, and scammers. I'm afraid to even have them work on my car at this point. If it wasn't in pieces already I would've taken it a long time ago. I'm disgusted to even be sitting in here right now. Stay away!!! More
