Worst Experience I knew better than to go to an Atlantic dealership but I decided to go against my better judgement. I originally went to Donaldson's, which had such g I knew better than to go to an Atlantic dealership but I decided to go against my better judgement. I originally went to Donaldson's, which had such great customer service, but decided to shop around a little. We walked into the dealership and were greeted by a manager who instantly stated he knew nothing about Volkswagens and would find someone to help us, so we were off to a great start. We were then helped by Adam who was trying so hard to sell us this car, and literally told us, 'I don't care what I give you this car for, the dealership can lose money, it's the end of the month and I need this car to get my bonus.' We should have known by now just to leave. We wound up taking a car for a test drive in which Adam spoke about himself the entire time and how he doesn't even drive a VW and we began to lose interest. We got back to the dealership and he started to write down numbers and somehow came up with a monthly payment of close to $500 a month, which at Donaldson's I was given $353 a month for a more expensive car. We asked what the interest rate was and he said he didn't know and would have to go ask his manager, in which he came back still with no interest rate. We then asked again what the interest rate was and to increase the time to 72 months. Again, he came back stating it was a general interest rate and he wasn't sure what it was. At this point we said we were leaving to which he went back to his manager and finally got the interest rate, in which he was trying to hide, of 7.99%. This was my first time buying a car but he did not run my credit or anything and was just hoping I would agree to the payments and would end up paying $27,000 for a $19,000 car. After this we were absolutely done, thanked him for his time and started to leave. At this point he ran to his manager asking him for help because we were leaving and we were then followed out to our car by the manager telling us we could work something out. I then received multiple phones call from them (and still am over a month later) asking for me to come back, even after I already told them many times I am not interested in buying a car from them. Save yourself and stay far away from Atlantic, go to Donaldson's instead. More
Great experience This is my second time leasing a Jetta from Atlantic VW in West Islip. Adam was my Salesperson and Rob was the primary Sales Manager I dealt with. They both knew their stuff and were very nice and helpful - they helped me get a great deal, and made the experience a good one. I felt that Justin went out of his way to ensure that both my husband and I were comfortable with the process and offered several different scenarios for us to consider. The car salesman Adam was a great help, Adam took the time to show me the different models and explain the difference between them then took me on a test drive so I can experience it for myself he also asked the right questions that tied into my everyday lifestyle when it came to the features of the car. When we were discussing the price Rob the manager and Adam were making sure that I was able to get the car for the price I wanted for Rob and Adam were great if your looking for a car go to them and they'll make you feel at home and make sure you get what you want. NEW FACES and now BAD service after 3 years of being a custo We purchased a 2012 VW TDi Passat 3 years ago new and overall was a great experience. We serviced the vehicle with Joe, Sean and Pablo at the dealers We purchased a 2012 VW TDi Passat 3 years ago new and overall was a great experience. We serviced the vehicle with Joe, Sean and Pablo at the dealership without any issues other than someone taking our car manual, which could have been the car wash that they give coupons for. Our last visit for 80,000 mile service seemed to begin as usual other than new faces in the Service department. They also offered a free car was there if we wanted to wait 20 minutes. They typically give us a coupon for a free wash down the road. We decided to wait the extra 20 minutes. The service did not take longer than usual. What I noticed was that the rep did not go over what was done on the vehicle as usual or mention the next service. They normally do this. I paid, put my kids in the car, and upon sitting in the driver seat I noticed black grease on the seat and then on door panels. I wash and vacuum my car every week normally so I am observant of the condition of the vehicle on a regular basis. Then was the BO smell in the car that took 2 days to go away or get used to ;) Lastly, we always get a follow up survey via email which we still have never received months later. Now that VW is in the news for multiple shady issues I decided to write my own surveys/reviews online. We purchased this car because of the great safety rating in 2012 and the excellent gas mileage, now it's likely that the airbags do not work, and no way to know until a crash, the crash video clearly shows the dummy missing the airbag and hitting the dashboard, so if it even goes off it may do nothing, and the gas mileage now is at the very very best 40mpg all highway with no A/C. Still good, but there is no way possible you're getting more than 800 miles per tank. We plan to join a class action or sue them personally and/or demand they buy back our car for what we still owe. Very disappointed VW customer. More
Bought a lease! Xavier was awesome, and so was his manager! My mom and I are hard people to deal with, but they helped us pick out a lease & gave us a great deal. Worst Experience ever Dealership dented the car door and wouldn't cover the damage which was caused during service. They had no camera proof that it didn't happen and left fingerprints all over the door. The service manager was the rudest person I have ever came across and tried to give me the runaround. The service technicians are obviously under trained and should not be working on 30 Thousand dollar cars. Even a tire change seems to be too difficult for them. I would trust my 15 year old cousin more with changing oil or a wheel than them. It's very sad that dealerships such as this one are so bad at what they do. You had one job. More
