Good overall sales and business manager experience. I've purchased new 2017 and 2018 end-of-model-year VW sedans from Shearer VW; and in each case the sales experience was excellent. Part of the deal we made was to include a base roof rack at dealer cost. Not having it in stock, they said they would contact me on Monday, After the sale I go called by salesman practically begging me to fill out survey. Sadly I did so before Ryan emailed Monday. For the bars, VW list is $365. First he tried to tell me 365 is dealer cost, then that 292 is dealer cost. Interestingly, other dealer sell around 280 on the internet, so cost has to be in lower 200s. Anyway they now said they had it in stock and agreed to sell for $240. Made arrangements to pick up Friday afternoon, drove three hours to do so. Salesman walks out with two bars under his arm, no box, no instructions, and bars had scratches and signs of having been hastily cleaned. Not even sure they fit my car, plus the sticker on the bars said 2012. I'm thinking this came off someone's trade. Told them they needed to get new, in the box bars, and ship them to me. Left to meet a friend for dinner. They called Monday and only concession they would make is to ship me the same bars for $240, no new ones. Luckily there is a good VW dealer near me, the only reason I went to Burlington is that I wanted a specific car that is very hard to find. Would not even buy a spark plug from them after this, expect to be lied to if you go there More
People skills needed!! Although I had an outstanding sales person, who is ultimately responsible for me purchasing my vehicle- I will NEVER go back to Shearer Volkswagen in Although I had an outstanding sales person, who is ultimately responsible for me purchasing my vehicle- I will NEVER go back to Shearer Volkswagen in South Burlington, VT - nor will I refer anyone to do business with them! During the financing process of the deal, I asked them to help me understand how they got to the final numbers... This request was met with great frustration from Megan and a very poor attitude from a the sales manager, Mike James. He told me they needed the room for someone else and I could take my money back. Really!?!? What consumer would sign a contract for thousands of dollars when they didn't completely comprehend the method of how the numbers were calculated?? Is this really too much to ask!? I did figure out a way of understanding the calculation on my own- but these guys do this everyday! Should it really have been that hard to explain?? I did buy the vehicle, but these individuals turned what should have been a wonderful experience into a very negative one. Shame on you Shearer Volkswagen for having people who would disrespect a consumer for asking questions! Invest in some customer service training and a class on people skills!!! More

Beware of buy back scam Don't fall for the "buy back" check scam! they get you there to evaluate your trade, and offer only a fraction of there so called "buy back offer" Don't fall for the "buy back" check scam! they get you there to evaluate your trade, and offer only a fraction of there so called "buy back offer" its just scam to waste your time. And service! they have all the calls farmed out to some agency, you cant even talk to a service adviser to ask a question without the called being transferred to a call center 2000 miles away! what happened to the days when you could call and get a strait answer?! More
