great service department and staff I have been doing business with Salem Volkswagen service department since 2011 for my 2001 VW Beetle diesel. Even before Lithia took over ownership o I have been doing business with Salem Volkswagen service department since 2011 for my 2001 VW Beetle diesel. Even before Lithia took over ownership of the dealerships in Salem, I always received really good service with the VW service department. My Beetle has had an ongoing electrical problem and they can be a nightmare to track down and repair. My car has been in the VW shop 6 times for hard/no starting problems since about July, 2012. They tried different things while attempting to diagnose the electrical problem, and I paid the service bill each time. My car ran just fine after each visit to the service department, but the electrical problem persisted. May 13, 2015, I tried to start my Beetle to go to a medical appointment, and the car would not start as the battery was totally dead. I called the Salem VW service department and talked with Greg Bell. He was very accommodating and patient with me as I was a little abrupt with Greg because my car had been in their shop for the same no start condition previously. I am handicapped and cannot drive my VW very often, except to and from medical appointments. Greg knew about my medical condition from my being in their service department many times before, for oil changes and general, required service/maintenance work. Greg offered to send service personnel to my home to jump start my car and drive it back to their service department. I was very pleasantly surprised at Greg's offer to come get my car. They kept my car for several days and when Greg called me, his service staff(Steve Foster)had diagnosed and found the real electrical problem with my Beetle. My car had a slow electrical draw or drain on the electrical system. The car stereo system was the culprit. Greg had his service staff bring my car back to my home so I could use it until they got the stereo system rebuilt. Greg called about a week later to tell me the stereo was rebuilt and ready for installation. Greg, again sent his service personnel to my home, and drove my car back to the dealership. The next day Greg called to advise me that my car was ready to be returned to me and that the electrical problem had been properly diagnosed, and there was no longer an electrical draw on the system. His service personnel drove my car back to my home. I said all this to say, I was blown away with Greg's outrageous and outstanding service to me. No dealership provides such outstanding and powerful customer service these days. WOW, impressive! I cannot say enough about the great service I received from Greg Bell, and his service team at Salem Volkswagen!! I was a loyal customer with Salem VW before, but now I will never take my VW service needs anywhere else....ever!! I also want to thank Steve Foster, the mechanic/technician, who performed all of the work on my Beetle. I have always requested Steve be the only person to work on my car because he is so highly skilled and well trained. I also called the General Manger of Salem Volkswagen, J.J. Hunsaker, to share my extremely positive, and pleasant experience with Greg Bell and their service department. I hope this letter and my sincere gratitude reaches Greg Bell, Steve Foster and the men who drove my car back and forth from my home, and the Salem VW service department. I also want this letter to reach the service manager, so he knows exactly how much I truly appreciate the great service I received from his department staff. Steve Foster spent a great deal of time, diagnosing and repairing my car. I was charged a very fair price for the professional work performed on my VW diesel Beetle. I highly recommend Salem Volkswagen to anyone who owns a Volkswagen, for all of their service needs. wally west Salem, Oregon More

Report card for Cindy Ramey Hello, We had the opportunity to work with Cindy in obtaining a used Dodge Ram. While giving me a tour of the vehicle I shared with Cindy that we Hello, We had the opportunity to work with Cindy in obtaining a used Dodge Ram. While giving me a tour of the vehicle I shared with Cindy that we had some economic issues and I wasn't sure if we could even obtain credit. She assured me that she would give me every opportunity available, in order for us to obtain the van. Immediately I had hope. She is a hope giver...with authentic spirit. Cindy didn't waist any time...she was "on-it".She worked diligently and gave full accessibility to herself with questions we might have regarding the vehicle. She even worked overtime and volunteered to meet us on her day off.....tremendous customer service! We would definitely return to her when we are in the market for another vehicle.
