Our customer service rep Matthew Smith at Panama City VW was very rude. We scheduled our visit online via an email special for a $20 oil change that typically costs $90. When we went to check out after wait was very rude. We scheduled our visit online via an email special for a $20 oil change that typically costs $90. When we went to check out after waiting two hours for a standard oil change, he tried to charge us $100. I explained we had the coupon sent to us from VW and he tried to say it probably wouldn’t apply. So, I explained I made sure that our VIN matched it, which it did. He said we were supposed to tell him before he took our car back to start about the special. (Why that matters, I don’t know? Seems questionable because that has nothing to do with the service) I explained that wasn’t anywhere on the email or coupon. So he had to go have his manager edit our balance and made sure to say loudly “they want $80 off.” Mind you, VW sent us this coupon. He said when we scheduled this service, we schedule through a Houston TX portal and “they don’t know what they’re doing”. None of this had to do with us or the oil change. We ended up walking away paying the $20 for the service but he would’ve easily taken our $100 if I didn’t speak up. It stated clearly on my appointment that we had the special along with our scheduled service. We’re repeat VW customers but won’t be going back to the Panama City location. This was very bad service. 0/10 recommend. More
