I have purchased over 10 vehicles from this dealership, always have a great experience. They have always given me top value for my trade, and always are competitive with new car pricing. Can't comment always have a great experience. They have always given me top value for my trade, and always are competitive with new car pricing. Can't comment on service, I don't keep them very long, usually 10,000 miles or less. Can't say enough nice things. More
Brad Holman is a 10 when it comes to customer service. I switched from a Toyota to Volkswagen and I never felt more special and comfortable knowing that I'm dealing with honest people. Within a short time I got a phone call back from Brad with the information I needed. I asked him to check on another VW Beetle I wanted, and we texted back and forth for a couple of hours until I was certain that Brad would find the car that I was looking to buy. I had previously been to a dealership nearer my home, but the salesman never got back with me. I called him, but he never returned my calls even though I told him I was ready to buy. When I got to Hallmark, Brad showed me the VW Beetles, but he also pointed out a Jetta which was the color I was looking to buy. Brad had asked me what I was looking for and seemed to really care that I got the car that would suit my needs. He pointed out pros and cons, and I really felt as thought I was making an informed decision. I liked the Jetta and decided to take it for a test drive. That was it! I loved the Jetta and bought it that day. Brad was very helpful and informative. He is very knowledgable about cars, very caring and personable, and I will buy my next car from Brad and will steer anyone I know to Brad to buy a car. He is an asset to the dealership, and I wish him all the success he deserves. More
I went to HALLMARK VW with my brand new B5 Passat for the free oil change. First time, they washed it even though it was SPOTLESS when I took it in, and it had a bunch of nice new swirl marks on the pain the free oil change. First time, they washed it even though it was SPOTLESS when I took it in, and it had a bunch of nice new swirl marks on the paint, and grease stains on the "special-ordered", heated cloth seats. Next time, I put a post-it on the windshield, "PLEASE DO NOT WASH"; they WASHED IT ANYWAY. The post-it was still there when I picked up the car. What really pissed me off, though; they filled the oil exactly 2cm above full. I called HALLMARK VW, talked to the Service Advisor, he said "Don't worry, it'll burn off". Asked for the Service Mgr, HE said "Better too full than not full enough, chuckle, chuckle, chuckle!". Explained to him that there are at least three warnings under the hood against overfilling, he said not to worry about it. Called VWOA and asked them to confirm hillbillies' position on the overfilled oil. They said do not start it again, they'd send a flatbed; here's your incident number. I asked where they'd take it. They said HELLMARK; you can guess what I said... More
Buying my 2006 VW Jetta -- my very first brand-new car -- at Hallmark, I looked forward to a long run with the car, and all of the features it promised...safety, longevity and good gas mileage. Sadly, Hallm at Hallmark, I looked forward to a long run with the car, and all of the features it promised...safety, longevity and good gas mileage. Sadly, Hallmark's lackluster service operation didn't catch a major problem with my transmission body when it could have been fixed (during a $900 "routine" service visit at 100,800 miles, in which I had expected they would have given it a thorough exam). When Nashville Autohaus (superior service) later caught the issue at hand, a little research showed me that the point in question -- faulty valve body -- had been so commonplace that VW had issued an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles. After some back and forth with the unenthusiastic service team, they told me to bring the car in and they'd check it out. So I made plans to get to their far-flung location and leave my car overnight. The next day, I got a call not from Dave, the gentleman I had originally spoken with, but with someone else. This has been par for the course with Hallmark -- they are not concerned with relationships, only with expediting their work and saving their dealership's resources. He called with a "sorry Charlie" message -- those 4,000 miles (I was now at 104,000) put me out of reach for this extended warranty. Basically, if you want a VW, you might as well buy it from someone in Mexico, where mine was made. The service at Hallmark is awful, they only care about you when they are trying to sell you a car, and I think you would be hard-pressed to find less dynamic businesspeople out there. I had planned to trade in for another VW, but with the way I was handled -- no Plan B, no "we're sorry"...just "tough brakes"...I will NEVER darken their doors again. Do yourself a favor, and find someone who is committed to doing good business, who values their customers and has the integrity to stand behind their brand enough to work with you when an issue is their faulty engineering. I've taken my New Beetle TDI to them for Timing belt changes. They have performed 3 on my car (my car has 433,000 miles) and the are the only VW dealer I trust to open the hood on my car anymore. Th changes. They have performed 3 on my car (my car has 433,000 miles) and the are the only VW dealer I trust to open the hood on my car anymore. The mechanics are very good communicators and understand the difference between diesels and gassers and seem to have more experience than the mechanics that I've met at other VW dealerships in TN.
