Called at 4:12 and was told by Armando that my vehicle will not be ready until 5:00 and when I questioned why it is taking 8 hours after all I had an appointment, he became argumentative, rude and sarcastic. Picked up my car after 5:00 and none of the services listed on the work order was performed except they change the oil I think!! Just checked my tire pressure and they are dangerously Lowe which against California law. The most unprofessional pe More

I brought my 2013 VW Jetta 2.5 SE in for 110k mile service, recall work and because of an intermittent check-engine-light issue with the camshaft positioning. They were really busy when I brought the car in (I made the appointment via their website) but Tina was professional and efficient. Because of the COVID-19 situation they do not have a courtesy shuttle. They offer a ride with Lyft, but only for 5 miles. They only have a small number of loaner cars too, which I was told are given out on a case-by-case basis, whatever that means, and the manager decides. I left my car overnight. They have a cool system for notifying you of their findings and estimates for the work. You’re notified via text with a link that launches the site. You have the ability to choose which repairs or maintenance items you wish done at that particular visit. I really appreciated that my service advisor, Tina ensured that the $515 camshaft-timing issue was covered by the PZEV warranty. Also I was pleasantly surprised to see that they applied a 20% discount without me asking. I believe that was a coupon they had going at the time. Unlike other VW dealerships, VW of Kearny Mesa does not wash your vehicle’s exterior when it’s serviced. More
Completely unprofessional service. We tried to buy a car, and they gave us the run around when we brought up an issue with the AC, then sold it out from under us. The salesman told us they couldn't sell us the car without the maintenance department checking the AC out and then sent us home assuring us that they would call in the morning to come buy it once it was checked out. A few hours later we get a text that they sold the car to someone else. DO NOT USE this dealership, this is the most unacceptable experience we have ever had while trying to buy a car. More
Very Dishonest One of most dishonest dealership I’ve every dealt with. They don’t care about customer services, or working with the customer. Again very dishonest. Two months later after leaving the Marines and driving to my new job in Flagstaff, AZ my cars transmission failed. We contacted the dealership and spoke to Trey Lewis and explained what happened he said to bring it back to them. That was not an option and we explained that to Trey. After getting an estimate we left several messages for Trey and we never even got a call back. After having to buy a used transmission, towing and a rental car it has cost me over $5000.00 on a car a paid $8000.00 cash for three months ago. More

They had dozens of used VWs on the lot, the largest selection in San Diego county (several times larger than other VW dealerships we visited). Many cars on the lot to choose from. We felt no pressure in the sales process. We told Mike what we were looking for (price range, mileage, model year, etc.) and he delivered a half dozen options. We test drove several of them, and settled on the perfect fit for our "kid car". More
Don't waste your time DO NOT COME HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ANY MODIFICATIONS DONE TO YOUR CAR! Dropped my car off Tuesday the 29th of April for a Dead infotainment d DO NOT COME HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ANY MODIFICATIONS DONE TO YOUR CAR! Dropped my car off Tuesday the 29th of April for a Dead infotainment display I get a call at the end of the day stating due to the modifications of my GTI my CPO warranty is completely voided and inform me if I want to continue diagnostics, it would be $1300.(not to fix) I tried to explain the modifications to my engine did not affect the display, The Service rep repeated that my warranty is no longer valid, forcing me to call VWoA. I explained to the VWoA rep the situation and was told I would get a call end of day Wednesday. The Costumer care rep calls and lets me know he can not get a hold of their service department, despite calling multiple times to get an update on the situation. Thursday, he informs me that the modification to my engine couldn't have caused the blank screen on the infotainment displays but, I would have to authorize a $140 fee for the dealership to physically check the cables to my infotainment center for tampering. They simply did not want to do the work under warranty. Thankfully the VWoA costumer care rep informed me if they found issues they would send a regional tech to inspect, magically I received a text stating its covered under CPO warranty and parts will arrive Monday the 6th of May. The dealerships service rep let me know even if I had an aftermarket sub woofer they would deny the warranty. This dealership has the worst costumer service I have experienced. I have finally received my car back, but I will NEVER bring it back here. The icing on the cake was when I picked up the car the key fob wasn't working unless I held it up to the sensor, the technician failed to notify the service rep and even claimed to swap out the battery. (not to mention they removed my dash cam and it was wedge under the passenger seat) I got home remove the battery and put it back in and magically the key fob works as intend. The Service techs are snakes. This dealership has a good overall rating but has gone downhill fast according to recent ratings. More
