Our sales representative "Danny Horrible buying experience! looking to buy a 2022 VW Tiguan, me and my wife visited VW Kearny Mesa in San Diego, CA. Our sales representative "Danny" help us, we put down a $500 deposit to reserve on of the 2022 Tiguan that were in transito to this dealership, Danny shows the price of the Tiguan and promised us that we will pay the MSRP of this particular vehicle. Few days later we were notified the car arrived so we can actually see it an test drive it, my wife loved the new 2022 Tiguan and we wanted to purchase it yesterday, unfortunately Danny -the salesman- had the day off, and we talked with a new sales rep. called Raul Velazquez, this new sales person was not amicable, very cold and not helpful at all, any way, the biggest and dissatisfactory issue was that the dealership all the sudden decided jackin up the price above the MSRP adding silly addons like Type "C" USB cable for $495 (Amazon cost ~$8), I understand these days almost all the dealerships are abusing the consumers using the COVID situation and jacking up the car price with silly "stuff" like adding $495 for having the tires filled with Nitrogen (free at Costco). Any way the deal came down because the the dealership did not honor and respected the initial agreement to sell us the 2022 Tiguan at MSRP as Danny the original salesman that promised us to sell us this Tiguan at MSRP, bottom line stay away from this dishonest dealership that does not support their sales force. Probably one of the worst dealerships I have been too. I'm a big fan of Volkswagen and I went here because I had already been here a few times just to get an idea on a car that I wanted. Spoke to a few people there. Welp, when it finally came to me buying a preowned vehicle that I actually wanted, they tried to put me on a lease for a brand new car without even telling me. It was also way out of my budget. Then told me that there were pretty much only two cars that I could choose from and that they had to be brand new. Neither of the cars interested me at all. One was even too small and low to the ground for me. Im a tall person. It was a horrible experience. The car that I wanted originally was still there! But they tried to really get over and were very pushy. So I left there without a a car still. But that's okay. I went to another volkswagen dealership. Got great service and actually got an even better car that I wanted! And i love it. I would stay away from Kearny Mesa Volkswagen. Find a better Volkswagen dealership like I did if you're a fan of volkswagen like me. There are still good people out there who are actually willing to help. More
This dealer bombastically advertised a used 2019 Tiguan all over the net while the car was not even ready to be shown!!! When I contacted the dealer on Saturday the internet sales personal mentioned the ca all over the net while the car was not even ready to be shown!!! When I contacted the dealer on Saturday the internet sales personal mentioned the car won't be ready until Tuesday due to changing tires and some parts. She kinda insinuated that I could purchase the car and later pick it up without test driving. I don't know who's crazy enough to do that in the first place??!! Later she contacted me on Saturday evening saying the car is ready, I was dumbstruck beyond belief. I agreed to show up early Sunday morning to do the test drive. She also made it sound like that there are a bunch of people ready to jump and gobble-up the car if I didn't show up. The way she worded was "first come first serve ". Lo and behold, after driving for 40 miles to get to the dealership early in the morning after waiting for half an hour she stated the car went back for detailing and there will be NO test drive!!! I clearly stated that I am driving from North County and I was adamant to test drive the car. Long story short, after I expressed my displeasure for not being able to test drive her attitude was totally nonchalant knowing there will be other buyers in this crazy used car market to gobble up her xx. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone and if you have some respect for yourself don't let them treat you as an Insignificant buyer. They should earn your respect and your business not the other way around. More
STAY AWAY. These clowns are shady and they are running an illegal rental car racket with the enterprise car rental agents in the area. This is the worst dealership I’ve ever had the misfortune of walking into. They have no knowledge of the cars they sell and the “service advisers” are a bunch of rude xxxxxx. Everytime I come in there it’s a of walking into. They have no knowledge of the cars they sell and the “service advisers” are a bunch of rude xxxxxx. Everytime I come in there it’s an awful experience. Whenever I use their service center they don’t communicate with me and that status of my vehicle. They’ll also expect you to understand without actually explaining anything.. If I was a xxxxing mechanic I wouldn’t even need to be there in n the first place. I don’t feel confident trusting my vehicle with people who know just as much as me when it comes to cars and I don’t know a xxxx thing. More
I’m never buying a Volkswagen again! My Passat TDI broke in September 2020, and it is at the patio of the dealership Volkswagen Kearny Mesa waiting for parts until now. This week will complete 8 months that a car under warranty can’t get fixed, because they have no parts. What good is a brand that can’t supply parts for a car under warranty? The worst part is, the car is being destroyed by the weather and for not turning the engine on for so long. It is at the patio of the dealership, and when I get it back, if I get it, will be probably a piece of garbage. And it’s not only that, I called multiple times the dealership and they still don’t have an ETA for the parts that are under warranty. They treated me very bad, even they being on the wrong, and never returned my calls. I tried to contact Volkswagen customer service as well, and nothing was solved. They don’t want to buy my car back, and also don’t have idea of when my problem will be solved. I used to work as a Lyft driver, so I’m not able to work with that ever since. At the beginning I thought, my car will be ready in a week, so I’ll just wait for that. The week become a month, so I started using my savings, thinking that it would be ready right on. Well, after 6 months all my savings were gone, and finding a job during the pandemic it was very difficult, since I’m doing an MBA, and I have classes during the day. After my savings were all gone, I had to ask for my family help, it’s humiliating. Volkswagen know all about that, and they don’t care. They simply don’t care about their customers. Volkswagen destroyed my life! And it is also destroying the environment! They lied about the carbon emission of this particular car, because they are greedy, and the only think they want is money! Do they care for their customers? Do they care for the environment? The answer is, definitely NO. So, think twice about giving your money for a company that does nor care about you and the environment! Think twice before buying something that when it breaks, it can’t get fixed! Think twice about getting the worst customer service! Don’t waste your money and your health for a lemon! Don’t ever buy a Volkswagen! #boycottvolkswagen Share it with your friends! Lets's make this public, so people can see what they do! Ps: I left the same review on Yelp some time ago, and yesterday again. Steve Taylor, the manager, answered in both of them saying to contact him by email and that he would solve my problem. I left some e-mails, tried to call and he never was there, left messages and he never called back! He just copy and paste an automatic message to appear that Volkswagen care! Well, they don’t. Do not use this dealership! My husband and I walked in found the car we wanted to purchase and because we mentioned cash they seem fine until we got into the office. Not only did they tell us the discount rate was for lease/loan options but took a car from costing 15,000 to up to over 20,000. Unbelieveable! More
