Joe really outdid himself on this deal, he really took into account not just the financial aspect but the comfort of the vehicle and what I really wanted. That kind of empathy, and kindness said all I nee into account not just the financial aspect but the comfort of the vehicle and what I really wanted. That kind of empathy, and kindness said all I needed to know about this man. I was hooked. Joe was able to me into a car I loved, all while handling 3 other guests, one of whom asked for him by name. I was in and out in less than 3 hours. Car sales are usually time consuming and a headache but not here, the complete relief I felt driving out in my new car. I had walked into several dealers prior, down in hand. Shopped around for months. No other dealer made me feel as welcomed as Joe did from Volkswagen. More
First of all. ...ENOUGH WITH THE 5 phone calls a day!!!!!! I will preface this with...Everybody was nice! Overall, my experience was not a good one. And if I wer ...ENOUGH WITH THE 5 phone calls a day!!!!!! I will preface this with...Everybody was nice! Overall, my experience was not a good one. And if I were to consider purchasing a VW, it would be from a different dealer. I inquired to see if a specific vehicle listed online was still available. (When I got there, of course it wasn't..."It sold yesterday, but we have others similar." Yet it was still listed online). The next morning I received a call from the dealer, that I was not able to answer. Not long after, I received another. I called back and said that I would be stopping by in the afternoon to test drive the vehicle. Yet, I got another call an hour later. Before the test drive, going over the vehicle, the salesman (Who was obviously over eager), said that he had sold a TIguan not too long ago. The buyer was in an accident (t-boned a F150) and, "Cut the F150 in half and all the VW needed was minor repairs (I can't remember what he said because I stopped listening at that point). During the test drive, the salesman said that he has a Tiguan himself (with the same engine) and that he loved it. A little later in the drive, I asked him, "No xx, what kind of gas mileage do you get?" (because my Focus xx gets NOTHING close to what's advertised. lol)....and the salesman said that around town he gets about 30mpg. And that on a recent trip down to Key West, he averaged 39mpg....There is no possible way. The vehicle is advertised at 22 city/29 highway. AND THE BIGGEST ISSUE (on the test drive). There was an OBVIOUS wobble while driving the vehicle, like a wheel was out of balance or something. Not sure, but the wobble was VERY noticeable and when I brought it up during the drive, the salesman said that it was just the road. Hmmmm...mmmmmkay...well next road, still wobbling, and the next and the next. It was also audible. He claimed he couldn't feel it. (Which is funny, because when I was done, I was sitting in my car in the dealer parking lot figuring out where I was going next. And they immediately took the Tiguan out to drive. I saw them doing laps around the parking lot, doing u-turns, weaving back and forth, and then drove off). Inside the dealership: On the drive, I made it VERY clear that I didn't want to talk numbers, that I was JUST test driving today. That I wanted to test drive several vehicles, pick one, and then go over numbers. As to not waste their time, or mine. When we got back inside, he had me come back to his office, and said, "Let me get you a few different numbers for you so you have an idea." I said, not necessary that I was pressed for time. He said, he'd be right back. Of course he came back with the sales manager. I told him the exact same thing I told the salesman. And he frantically went to the sales desk. I told him he had 5 minutes and I was walking out. He managed to get me an initial OTD price (Not a terrible starting point at least). Since then, I've gotten two calls. One at 7pm Friday night and then 6pm on Sat. I'm not sure if its a VW thing in general, because the Port Charlotte VW was almost as bad with the phone calls and I eventually blocked their number. I know times are tough in the auto industry...but xxxx!!!! WAY TOO eager. I stopped by several other dealerships that day to test drive. Not one call from any of them. More
