The service at what is now called Downtown Volkswagen unfortunately has gone downhill in my many years as a VW owner. Difficult to schedule, difficult to get a service technician on the phone, and poor unfortunately has gone downhill in my many years as a VW owner. Difficult to schedule, difficult to get a service technician on the phone, and poor communication. I booked service for a Monday morning and was told I could park the car on the street Sunday night and leave keys in a drop-box. Only problem is there is no drop-box—so the whole affair was a waste of time. The dealer has also implemented a new point-of-sale system and charges a 3-percent fee on credit card transactions. That is just nickel-and-dime-ing customers. I don’t have another VW dealer conveniently located; VW would be my first-choice car for an upcoming purchase, but I’m likely to migrate to another brand. He checked in with me while I waited, and once the work was completed, he carefully and clearly explained what issues needed attention and approximately when. I can’t say enough about Mike’s friendliness and professionalism. I plan to return to Downtown Volkswagen precisely BECAUSE of Mike Szafraniec! More
Worse customer service for a high end Downtown Dealership. 3 yrs ago a part of my engine broke on my 2010 VW Tiguan, my personal reputable mechanic researched and found a recall for my particular Dealership. 3 yrs ago a part of my engine broke on my 2010 VW Tiguan, my personal reputable mechanic researched and found a recall for my particular issue and recommended taking my car to dealership. They tried playing a game of words with me and tried charging me $10k to fix it but my mechanic told me it was the same thing and that I should contact Audi. When I told the delearship that it was the same thing and it was part of the recall they lowered the price to $5k and I still declined. I told them I would contact Audi and brought the price down to $800. The car got fixed with a year warranty. During the next 3 yrs I only drove my car in the city and never past 60mph cause my car never felt the same. Last month 10-12k miles later and only at 100K miles, my car died on me literally as soon as the engine light came on and barely made it to my mechanic. He said take it back to dealership hence they put the engine and it was engine issue again. I towed my car to dealership and they took 24hrs to get back to me after I kept texting their text number for a status. They again tried to charge me $10k to fix my car to which I immediately refused because it was the engine and I had kept with all my car maintenance. I gathered all my paperwork from my maintenance and what they had done in service and had my mechanic look at it. He informed me to my surprise that the engine they had replaced had been bought at a junkyard and that apparently I had an extended warranty to which it was news to me but it was stated on the dealership invoice. I tried texting and calling the dealership and nobody would bother to respond for 2 days. The service manager was always “busy” for 2 straight days. One time I called and I overheard another customer so irate and screaming to give his keys back and the CS had to hang up on me, not surprised cause they get customers to that point cause their service is awful. On my last attempt I left a message for service manager to reach out within 2 hrs or i would personally go to the dealership. He literally called me after almost 3hrs and I was on my way. He seemed very “understanding “ and took me to the service garage so their mechanic would “convince me that my car was broken but not from the engine”. After I explained the situation to the mechanic, let’s just say he was on my side but obviously he has no power on making things happen. I left the dealership with the service manager “promising to help me” but that was just to get me out of his hair. 2 days later he called and said their was nothing to do and that I needed to get my car or I was going to get charged $75/day for parking. I decided it was not worth the headache and decided to junk my car. I got to the delearship and first thing he tells me is “I really tried” and I said let’s avoid this conversation cause we both know the truth and that if you guys really wanted to make it right, you guys could had fixed my car because for all I know the engine from the junkyard had the same recall issue from 3 yrs ago and nobody bothered to tell me it was an engine from a junkyard and this extended warranty that i supposedly had 3yrs ago is nowhere to be found… Avoid Volkswagen cars, expensive when Broken and save yourself a headache and goin crazy on them like that other customer I overheard over the phone. They stall, they lie and cheat their own system and can’t find nor show receipts for what it’s stated on their own invoice. More
Great customer service, somewhat overpriced but reliable repairs. Heberto was extremely helpful. He found a loaner for the last two days of my car repairs, and made sure I was not overcharged for it. repairs. Heberto was extremely helpful. I appreciated the transparency in reviewing and showing in a video the additional work that they proposed to do. I booked my appointment in the VW app but apparently they do not take those appointments. It in a video the additional work that they proposed to do. I booked my appointment in the VW app but apparently they do not take those appointments. It was for a Friday at 3pm. It was for a routine oil change and check up and warranty. I had to go the next day and drop the car on a first arrived first served base. I was the second in line. It took about 4 hours to get my car back. They have a nice waiting room with a coffee machine and wi-fi. Overall good experience, the booking system needs improvement or they should remove themselves from the app. More
