Credit Challenge friendly! Gay friendly! Amazing experience! I can't possibly recommend the team at Volkswagen SouthTowne any more highly. Before we went into the dealership, we sent in a financing pre-qualifica I can't possibly recommend the team at Volkswagen SouthTowne any more highly. Before we went into the dealership, we sent in a financing pre-qualification application. We quickly got a call from the Internet Director who was personally going to see to it that we would have a fair, honest, and relaxing car buying experience. He set us up with Mujo, who was just as understanding, fair, and honest as we were promised he would be. There is no way to explain just how stress-free, relaxing, casual, and exciting this car buying experience was. There is a lesson to be learned for all other car dealerships. VW SouthTowne took the time to analyze and pre-qualify us for a price range before they took us out and got our hopes up like every other dealership I've ever been to. Not only that, but they honestly told us that they intended to approach our situation that way. To be completely fair and objective, there were a couple of things that I was dissatisfied with. First off was the price of the car. The next day we discovered even more damage to the car than we had initially noticed, and they were reluctant to discuss bringing down the price of the car or offering more for our trade-in. Secondly, they were trying to offer us $700 GAP insurance, which is obscene. The GAP for my Camry is $495, and the Dart I traded in recently was $395. Next, the service department didn't do a very thorough job cleaning the interior of the car, and I don't think they tried to buff out some of the scratches that we asked about before they delivered the car to us. Next, I didn't feel as though they were very transparent when it came time to review the numbers, and I never got a breakdown of the price. When I tried to negotiate price with them, they tended to respond with hesitance and didn't really even seem to consider making a lower offer for us. And finally, when we were initially negotiating the price, I asked what interest rate we had been pre-qualified for and they feebly said, "Uh, mid-teens, high teens." But the interest rate we ended up with was mid-twenties, and we ultimately exceeded our comfortable budget by $60. Aside from those few minor setbacks, the overall experience was vastly superior to any other car buying experience I have had or witnessed. Thank you, Mujo and Bryan! UPDATE 9/29/15: Tyler received a call from the dealership with "good and bad news." When he arrived, he was informed that the "bad news" was that he had to go out of his way to the dealership and sign some new documents. But the GOOD news made up for all of it! They needed him to sign new documents because... they got his interest rate lowered! The new payment was much closer to the budget we initially had in mind. Thank you, again, to everybody who worked so hard! More
