My car had a check engine light turn on, so I decided to start looking at new cars. We went around to all the dealerships to look at options to think about for the new car. I didn’t mind the car, but it was more than I wanted to spend, and honestly I wasn’t in love with it. But we decided to go inside and look at numbers. I wasn’t excited about it. But figured it would give me another option to look at. Ethan came back and said we had to run a credit application to get numbers. I had all my credit frozen, and didn’t have a login on me to unfreeze it. But they decided to try to push it through anyway. I’m unsure of why. While we were waiting for them to pull numbers for me, another guy came in. I didn’t catch his name, but I assume he was a manager. He was the pushiest guy I had met at a dealership. And that says a lot. I said again that I was in no way purchasing a car today. And that I was going to do research on all the cars I looked at. But wanted to go around to test drive and see if it was something I could see myself driving. But this guy did not seem to like that answer and told be about the specials that “wouldn’t last another day” and the “special apr’s”. Constant pushing of the monthly payments I could get. Although I wanted a total number NOT a monthly payment. By this point we had been sitting there for over an hour. And we were hungry. We left, and used us going to get dinner to think about it as an excuse to leave. I got a text no less than 10 minutes later asking what time I was coming back to purchase the car. After that, I got several more calls, texts and emails in the coming weeks. But they drew the line after calling my mom, and emailing her. Each time I had told them, I found another car. And that I wasn’t going to buy the Taos. Then this last week, I got a letter in the mail stating that I had been denied financing. ( no wonder. My credit was frozen). In the end. I will NEVER recommend this dealership. While Ethan was nice and easy to work with, it is clear to me that the rest of the people there were not. More

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM SOUTHTOWN VW I never leave reviews but I have been so disgusted with my experience that I feel I should save others from the nightmare we have been living. It started great with great but I have been so disgusted with my experience that I feel I should save others from the nightmare we have been living. It started great with great sales people who were incredible to work with to purchase my 2023 Atlas with roughly 17 miles, but after 4 days the check engine light came on. They had my NEW car for 3 days. They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it so they just changed all the fluids and filters. Six days later the EPC light came on. They had my car for another 8 days, they supposedly fixed it. After I got it back it started driving really crappy. Shifting hard, revving high, and chugging when coming to a stop. So 10 days after getting it back I took it back AGAIN. This time I was not given a loaner car. After a week of no car and no loaner car I pushed to get a rental because we had a trip planned. They told us we could pick it up the morning we were scheduled to leave town. When we called the rental place there was nothing rented for us. We had to borrow a friends car. I got my car back after SIXTEEN days with a brand new transmission and a long list of new parts. I enjoyed my car for a few more days before noticing that it would intermittently do the same things that it was doing before and now the garage door button would only work part time, the cell phone charger wouldn’t work and the console screen would randomly power off. It got worse over six weeks when I finally decided to take it back. They have had it now for another three weeks. If you’re keeping track I bought my car 111 days ago but I have only had it in my possession for 59 days! Everyone is passively “sorry” but that’s as far as it goes. The comment we keep hearing “we will take care of you” means nothing from them as we have not been taken care off at all. I have had to initiate updates from the service department each time it has been there. We purchased a $50,000+ paperweight and no one there cares to make it right. As of today, 9/15/23 it is still there, I don’t have a loaner or a rental, we have no answers as to what is wrong with it, no ETA and did I mention it was BRAND NEW? Worst experience ever! More
The Dealership was great, not 100% honest. But I’m okay with the turn out. I was already approved through my bank and Southtown opened a new Credit report and submitted it.
