The management, especially Tommy and the dealership are crooks!!! Absolutely no question about it. I am in DFW area and had remotely worked out a deal verbally on a 2022 Jetta SEL based off MSRP on Friday crooks!!! Absolutely no question about it. I am in DFW area and had remotely worked out a deal verbally on a 2022 Jetta SEL based off MSRP on Friday 4/22/22. The car was in their showroom. Tommy told me to go to Carmax and get a value on my trade in that had a minor surface damage and that they will honor the price since Carmax is their preferred dealer. I had provided several photos and repair estimate to him. I then went to Carmax and received a $25,000 appraisal value on my car. After sending the report to Tommy, he got back to me saying they will offer only $24,000. Additionally, he added about $1,000 extra above MSRP, making my (OTD) out the door $7,700. My calculation was about $5,400 based off of MSRP, military rebate, and trade. I am a military retiree and VW offers $500 discount for Active Duty, Veteran, and Retirees as I have purchased several VW cars in recent years. As a manager, Tommy did not even know the military rebates details and tried to coerce me to believe the $500 rebate was only for Active Duty. The salesperson, Jay West also appeared new and inexperienced. It took them 1.5 hours to give me the numbers breakdown. The salesperson asked me to leave the home and head down to Houston. I kept sending several texts and messages as I did not want to drive too far wasting my time and gas if they were not going to agree on the numbers. We got into an argument and I asked - what about his earlier commitment of matching Carmax offer and MSRP. I asked him why he had me go to the Carmax store? I asked him why he wasted my time and energy if he was going to play games. He had no reasonable response. I felt this dealership engages in unethical and unscrupulous business activity let alone providing good customer service. They will take advantage of customers who are not well informed or are prepared to negotiate hard. They will tell you one thing initially, give you hopes and come up with different but high numbers and try to coerce you into accepting their inflated figures. They are not transparent and moral in their business dealings. I understand the salesperson can be new and inexperienced, but a management acting like that intentionally...? Come on! If you go to the dealer website, they don’t even list their staff/management names/info as they are probably afraid people will find out who they "really" are as they are used to NOT being transparent. The owner or the CEO of the dealer needs to understand that social media and internet are more powerful than ever to get the words out. I hope they know their business practice is unethical, immoral, lacks transparency, and management is very incompetent, deceiving and have ill intents in an effort to take advantages of customers in this high demand short supply car market. Not the best outlook or good business practice for a long-term future in my opinion! I will be notifying the VW corporation as well as Texas Attorney General's office of my bad experience with this dealership. More
Service staff excellent and efficient, address all the maintenance issues. Team even address a follow on minor issue with automobile, after service, quickly isolated and repaired the minor issue. I am extremely happy with my experience at Volkswagen of Clear Lake. I ordered my 2022 Atlas through Agatha. I was updated throughout the time I had to wait for my car to arrive. Worst car buying experience. Lied to multiple times even after calling them out on their lies. We received calls every day about them buying our current 2020 Tiguan. We told them we were not interested and still they kept calling every day. Eventually my wife agreed to let them look at her car and give her an estimated trade in value. They kept her there for over 3 hours even after picking out a new car, which was not in stock but was said to be arriving in 10 days. We agreed on a trade in value and purchase price of the new car. I was working out of town so the finance paperwork would have to be mailed to me, which was also agreed upon. They took my information and then asked for a mailing address for the paperwork to be sent to. She had to leave prior to her getting the address for them to send the forms but was told she would receive a call in the morning with the finance information and to retrieve the mailing address. She never received a call, however my credit was ran multiple times. After not hearing anything for a couple of weeks, I called and try to find out what the issue was. I attempted to speak to the sales manager but was just passed around and given to the sales person who was working the deal. I was then told the paperwork was sent already and they would have to find out where it was. I told them that was impossible because I never provided the mailing address. This is when the first lie came. I was told my wife provided it, however she was never given the address because they never contacted her the next day for it. When I told them that, they said she gave it to the finance office. Another lie. She never went into the finance office. I informed them of their lies and explained my frustration. The salesman I spoke then said he would personally take care of it and send it out. I gave him a chance to fix it and after another week there was still no update and no paperwork was received. Then today she receives a text about her interest in trading in her car again. Basically, starting the whole process over like nothing ever happened. It is clear there is no communication within the dealership and there are not concerned with the customer. Our buying experience with her 2020 Tiguan was not great but we were willing to give them a another chance. Now after this event and the lack of customer care, I will not buy from them again and will not recommend them to anyone. More
