Power Steering Problem I was in Valley Forge, Pa on a vacation last week and may car developed a whine which seemed to come from the power steering pump. I went to a recomm I was in Valley Forge, Pa on a vacation last week and may car developed a whine which seemed to come from the power steering pump. I went to a recommended dealer which was Kelly Chevrolet in Phoenixville, Pa and told them the problem. The took to car right in and in a little while came back with their recommendation. They said I needed to have a power steering pump and a steering rack which would cost about $900.00 for the parts plus labor. I told them to show me where to put the fluid in and I would get it fixed when I got home. I drove it home and over the weekend and never lost anymore fluid. I had my mechanic look at it and he said that there was no sign of a leak from the pump. The service guy at Kelly, after I said I wasn't going to have the power steering problem fixed then told me that my tires were the wrong size and should be 2 sizes bigger. I told him that they are the same size as the tires that were on it when I bought it. He said nothing after that. I feel that he knew I was from out of town and wanted to get me for a much as he could. I will not go back there if I need service when I am in the Philidelphia area. More
