A simple fix that became a fiasco Started as a Toyota Care visit on a Tacoma purchased new in August of 1017. At the visit I had pointed out how the one of the fender flairs had come l Started as a Toyota Care visit on a Tacoma purchased new in August of 1017. At the visit I had pointed out how the one of the fender flairs had come loose ( just some adhesive needed replacing). Mike the service writer was fantastic and explained that the flair had gotten chipped in the process of removing it and he had explained that Metro will have a new one ordered and painted to match for no charge. So about a mont later I take the truck back to Metro which is about 35-40 minutes away from home. I had a new service writer that I had never dealt with before and she couldn’t have been more disinterested with the situation. They take the truck in to the service shop to replace the flair and after 2 hours or so tm given my keys and was pointed in the direction of my truck with no technician or service writer escorting me I arrive at my truck and something appears off. Usually they take the time and wash the vehicle, show you the repair and answer any questions you may have, instead I inspected the “repair” and found two gouges down to bare metal in the paint about 1/2” long each on the fender it’s self and the adhesive is sticking out between the fender and the flair. I end up going back in and expressed my concerns to the service writer and I was initially told that the technician has noticed the “previously existing” scratches (which they didn’t bring to my attention until confronted about it). I had to explain to her that the only people that had touched it was Metro Toyota and that the scratches certainly were not on the truck as the previous service writer has examined and shown me the damage from the first attempt and that I had pictures to prove it. Now after she revived the news that they where in the wrong they agreed to offer me a loaner the following week (following Tuesday so 3 days later) and have the truck go to the body shop for proper repairs. I contacted Mike my usual service writer and he called back almost immediately and expressed his sincerest apologies and the confirmed the appointment for the following Tuesday. I bring the truck back for the third time to have it repaired. Had a great experience with Jennifer who got me set up with the loaner and was able to speak with the body technician and explain the issues and even he was dumbfounded whit how poorly the flair was installed. Only issue this trip was a showed up in a puck up and I left in a compact Corolla which is a very nice and fun car but I wasn’t able to get as much done that Tuesday afternoon to Saturday when I finally received my truck back. So finally the day comes and I arrive Saturday to get my Tacoma back and I return the loaner Corolla and meet with Mike and he again apologized for the incident and then has the tuck brought back to the service garage and goes over the repair with me. FINALLY the repair which took over a month from start to finish along with four 35-40 minute trips to the dealership the adventure was over! I had great experiences with my normal service writer Mike, Jennifer at the service counter and the body technician that I unfortunately missed his name. I was however extremely disappointed with the service from the fender replacement service and how that if I had not inspected the truck for my self that they where going to say nothing about the damage to the truck that they caused and having them trying to say it was damage that was on the truck prior to them removing the old flair was extremely frustrating and caused me to lose a lot of faith with the service center. In the end, Yes the repair was completed and the truck looks amazing, Metro has some fantastic and catering employees that take pride in their work and care about their customers. Extremely disappointed with the waste of my time and the dishonesty of a few of their employees. I’m thankful the experience is over and that Metro resolved the issue. More

on time experience Metro sent me an email with a tentative service time. I could keep it or respond to change the time. The suggested time worked for me, so I arrived Metro sent me an email with a tentative service time. I could keep it or respond to change the time. The suggested time worked for me, so I arrived on time, was taken care of immediately, was informed of what would be taking place with my car. While I waited I had a cup of complimentary coffee (but skipped the complimentary muffins). My car was washed for me and I was on my way. A very efficient and pleasant experience all around. More
