Here is the problem, when you buy the car they tell you one thing about the warranty, which is that you only need to have your oil changes done at a reputable Ford Dealer, which we have diligently. However, our F-150 has recently had some problems and it is less than 2 years old. When we called we were informed that the warranty was voided due to not calling in to approve every single one of our oil changes at the Ford dealership in our hometown (for which we can provide detailed receipts and records). We were then informed that from day 1 of buying from this dealership that they do not tell you what needs to be done and then they expect you to call on every single oil change you have done per the instructions that they gave you. We are now stuck fixing this truck and will never buy from Vernon Auto Group AGAIN! The Lifetime Forever should be a Ripoff Forever plan. More
Broke down in 40 days. Don't let my 40 days fool you. On the way home from buying my 2011 Ford truck i had a service engine light come on, Called the dealership immediately. Don't let my 40 days fool you. On the way home from buying my 2011 Ford truck i had a service engine light come on, Called the dealership immediately. Although i was asked to return the truck for someone to look at it they would have to set an appointment in order for me to do so. after several calls on my behalf i was able to get the truck back to them in about 5 days. It felt like i had to force myself onto them to get that appointment. Well after my fifty mile drive i arrived. At this time I arrived only to find out the technician was not on duty that day. So the service manager hooked up to the truck with his lap top. He was able to erase the fail code. He did predict the code would return and the truck would have to return for repair. Well it did fail. The dealership then set another appointment for repair. but it took the same method as before to get the appointment. Me calling and calling. Well after three weeks in the shop and extensive repair work done to the exhaust system I got my truck back. Here are two weeks later on a busy Texas highway broke down due to, you got it, exhaust system failure. So I called Vernon and told them I was broke down. They stated that typically there would be not much issue with repairing this at no charge to me within 30 days of purchase. Well since i had the truck in my possession for only two weeks of the 40 days I asked for help. The used car manager them stated that I should expect a used vehicle to have issues. I fill that their 126 point inspection is a smoke screen and if it is performed that problem are not fixed just hidden through electronics. Also once in for repairs it only gets what is needed on the surface to get by. After contacting several dealer service centers and describing my break down scenario they all had they same diagnoses. A common failure to this Make and Model. Hum why did Vernon Ford not also repair this at the 3 week time they had the truck. Because they were on of the dealers that told me of this common problem. Bottom line is it felt like a good deal up front with their LIfetime Powertrain Warranty and 126 Point inspection, but in real life your just buying a used car from a used car dealer. Dont't be fooled by the Pre-Owned description only to buy it and now is referred to as a USED CAR. Sorry guys i am not one of your success stories. More
I bought a 2010 Camaro in October 2012, I have had a couple of problems with my car since the purchase. One of which was extensive and I was without my car for 7 1/2 weeks. When I broke down, I was couple of problems with my car since the purchase. One of which was extensive and I was without my car for 7 1/2 weeks. When I broke down, I was in Lubbock, TX, over 200 miles away from Vernon Auto Group. The service i received in Lubbock at Scoggin-Dickey was Horrible. Finally we were able to haul my car back to Vernon Auto after 5 weeks of having terrible customer service in Lubbock, TX. My camaro was still not driveable when my boyfriend brought it home to Vernon. Matt Proctor is a man of his word, and took care of everything that Scoggin-Dickey did not complete and much more. I can not say enough good things about our hometown Vernon Auto Group and their concern and compassion that they showed me. I am so happy to have my car back and is running Wonderful!! Thank you so much for caring to make me a satisfied customer. More
I sit on the board of directors of a bank in Elk City, Oklahoma and pass through Vernon, Texas twice each month on my way to and from my monthly meetings. On January 19th, about twenty miles outside Vern Oklahoma and pass through Vernon, Texas twice each month on my way to and from my monthly meetings. On January 19th, about twenty miles outside Vernon, my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe began to shutter followed shortly by an array of red warning lights on the dash. With my foot on the floor I was only able to maintain a speed of around 40 miles an hour as I limped along on the highway. I pushed the OnStar button and was greeted by an operator who successfully identified the issue with my car, located Ruble-Vance Chevrolet ahead in Vernon and set up a conference call between the two of us and service manager, Tommy Gonzales. I explained to Tommy that I was on my way to a business meeting and would appreciate any help he could offer to get me back on the road. When I reached the dealership, Tommy met me at the garage door and before I had the car in park had a mechanic working on my car. Tommy explained that the rental agency was out of cars and the dealership did not have a loan car to offer, but that he was working on other possibilities to get me a car. After about five minutes, it was determined that the part needed to repair my car was in stock and that the entire fix could be completed in short order. Tommy even noted that my tail light was out and managed to get that fixed as well. Dollar signs were swimming around in my head as I approached Vernon since, in my experience, engine problems are rarely quick, easy or inexpensive. As my car was only slightly over the warranty period, Tommy was able to get the repairs covered at no cost to me. Truly amazing and absolutely unexpected! I was also assisted by the Ruble-Vance office staff, who allowed me to print, sign and fax a proxy statement so the meeting I was missing could go on in my absence. I am immensely appreciative for the level of competence and kindness offered by the staff at this dealership. They successfully turned what could have been an incredibly expensive and inconvenient experience to the highlight of my month. The Tahoe I am driving today is just over five years old. I made my last payment on it last week. While I intend to keep it as a second vehicle, I can assure you that the service provided by the staff at Ruble-Vance Chevrolet has cemented my desire to own another Chevrolet. I offer my most sincere thanks to all involved. More
By far, the best service experience I have ever been through. The dealership went the extra mile to fix the problem at the lowest possible price as quickly as possible. They even offered to pick up the vehicle and return it to me even thought they are about 2 hours away. The staff was the most friendly I have ever dealt with. Cannot say enough good things about this dealership. Will definitely do business with them again and recommend them to anyone looking to buy a new domestic vehicle or used vehicle. More
On Christmas Day 2011 my wife and I were traveling from Amarillo back to Dallas. The alternator on my Ford F250 went out about twenty miles outside of Vernon, Tx. Being Christmas day there were no busine Amarillo back to Dallas. The alternator on my Ford F250 went out about twenty miles outside of Vernon, Tx. Being Christmas day there were no business' open to provide any repairs at the time. I called a towing company who towed us into Vernon. The driver of the tow truck highly recommended Vernon Auto Group as a reputable company to handle the repairs. We dropped my truck there, got a hotel for the night and waited until morning. I called Vernon Auto Group the next morning as they opened. My call was returned in minutes by Jamie in the service department. I told Jamie about our situation and that we had been stuck away from home on Christmas and were hoping to get back on the road ASAP. Jamie called me back in two hours and informed me that they had diagnosed the problem as the alternator, replaced the alternator, test drove my truck, and that I was ready to go. Since our hotel was a few miles away from the dealership, Jamie offered to send one of his employees to come pick me up and bring me to the dealership. We certainly did not enjoy being broke down and staying away from home on Christmas. The service and professionalism provided to us by all those at Vernon Auto Group made the experience much easier. This experience also reaffirmed my choice in Ford vehicles. My F250 has 214,000 miles and has never needed a major repair, for which I'm very thankful. I would highly recommend Vernon Auto Group based on my service experience. I will also consider making the drive back to Vernon when it's time to buy my next Ford truck. Thanks, Scott Smith Plano, Tx. More
