My Experience with Venice Toyota: Disappointing and UnprofessionalAs a loyal Honda customer for years, I decided to try Toyota for my next vehicle, pre-ordering a car through Venice Toyota. Regrettably UnprofessionalAs a loyal Honda customer for years, I decided to try Toyota for my next vehicle, pre-ordering a car through Venice Toyota. Regrettably, this experience has been a far cry from the professionalism and transparency I expected. The Initial Pre-Order Process and Unmet RequestsI placed a pre-order with a $500 deposit and specifically requested via email two weeks prior to delivery that the Venice Toyota logo not be painted on the vehicle. When I arrived to pick up the car, I was disappointed to see the logo prominently displayed. When I inquired about it, my salesperson, Straley Sleight, dismissed my concern, assuring me he would quickly remove it. This promise was never fulfilled.Unexpected Transaction FeesBeyond the initial deposit, I was taken aback to learn that the dealership imposed a 3% transaction fee on both my $500 deposit and my $1500 downpayment—resulting in unexpected additional charges. This kind of hidden fee undermines trust and felt like an unpleasant surprise rather than transparent business practice.Broken Promises on AccessoriesAs part of the purchase agreement, I was to receive floor mats with my new car. However, upon inspecting the vehicle, I noticed the mats were missing. When I asked, I was told they would arrive once I signed the paperwork. After signing, I was then informed that an incorrect set had been ordered, requiring an additional wait. A week has passed, and there has been no follow-up or delivery of the promised mats.Incomplete Documentation ProvidedFollowing the completion of paperwork, the dealership’s accountant neatly handed me an envelope, which I later discovered contained only minor documents, with significant financial figures retained by the dealership. When I requested digital copies of these documents, I was assured they would be emailed to me promptly, yet this, too, has gone unfulfilled.ConclusionThe entire experience has been a disappointment. I was met with a lack of accountability, transparency, and professionalism that has left me regretting my choice to work with Venice Toyota. From hidden fees and broken promises to unfulfilled requests and retained documents, my experience reflects a disregard for customer trust and satisfaction.Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Venice Toyota and will be returning to Honda in the future. I had an appt for 0945 for 5,000 miles tire rotate, I added on an oil change, and had noted during the time of making the appt that a sound was coming from rear window. Service asst manager told me it wo added on an oil change, and had noted during the time of making the appt that a sound was coming from rear window. Service asst manager told me it would be 1 hour 30 minutes wait. So, at 1130 I went to check status and was told NONE of the service was completed or even started. I could not wait any longer and decided to leave. Time is money. Their excuse was they had a lot of appointment and it’s “in season”. It’s not my fault they over booked themselves. Sadly, I don’t think this location is managed well. Not looking forward to my return to have these services done for a brand new vehicle that just hit 5,000 miles. If you wouldn’t let it happy to you or your family member, you shouldn’t let it happen to a customer. More
