This is so untrue. Kara was very accommodating. Sending quotes giving whatever was asked. There were at least 20 text messages exchanged. Kara even accepted a phone call at 9pm to try to help. When we refused to continue to negotiate the interaction turned for the worst. I reached out to the customer and after several minutes of repeating the same complaint I defended our employee. Kara did nothing wrong. Using these platforms to misinform consumers and name people that rely on their job to provide for their families is not right. Whoever reads this give Kara a call and see for yourself.

Dathan, how disgusting that you would use this platform to lie. "She accepted a phone call', what? She told me 'it's not my problem that you live so far away'. What kind of statement is that? She barked at me 'I already gave you the warranty' when she was completely vague about what I had asked. She was acerbic, she was rude, she was vague, etc. and you were not present for our phone conversations yet you defend her unconditionally. You two clearly don't know what the word professional nor polite means. Your statements here are even more ridiculous than the ones you made to me privately. You are hands down, the most unprofessional GM and Venice Honda should be ashamed employing such a dishonest person. I would put my hand on a bible in a court of law over your statements, her acerbic behavior and both of your lack of professionalism. There are several other reviewers who have also commented about her lack of professionalism and bad attitude under Google reviews. You truly lack professionalism and integrity imho. I had to hang up on Kara because she was SO RUDE and she had the audacity to call me back. She's the worst sales person I have encountered of all the experiences I've had over the years when purchasing a car, hands down and you're no better. You're shameful! Not good business practice AnimalVike mom 6 reviews 6 months ago Found a car online I was interested in. Made plans to come in and look at it. Drove up from Port Charlotte on my kids birthday to look at the car. Once I got there the car had disappeared to another dealership. Felt like a bait and switch tactic. Of course, then they apologized and wanted to make it right by getting me in a more expensive car. Be careful doing business here. They are not in this for a long term customer relationship, but a fast money making deal. Keepin_IT_Ganster 20 reviews·1 photo 5 months ago Three separate times have I inquired about a car, called to confirm it was in stock, and made an appointment. drove halfway there only to be told that it is no longer available, or get there and it's not there but xx miles away at another lot...so either they are selling cars in the middle of the night or don't know what they have in their lot and are lying to people to get them to come in the door. K0Y0Ti 3 reviews 7 months ago Can’t make a 0/5 but I would if I could! Go anywhere else!! My mother and father bought a used CRV there for $16,000. My father passed away 4 weeks after they bought the car, and put less that 800miles on it. My mother tried to return the car 6weeks after the purchase. THEY OFFERED her $8,000!! 50% of what they paid for it! I called the sales manager, and he said they were trying to make money, and he sleeps well at night. Never in my life have I seen such repulsive behavior. Don't give them your money, because they will take advantage of you no matter what. Smiling while over charging ridiculous amount of fees is not good business in my opinion. Go home and think about what they are actually trying to charge you before you sign anything. I went in looking at vehicle priced 14k they tried adding almost 8k in fees making it 22k then they want you to finance with them so they can negotiate with banks on a higher finance rate to get a cut. Total price they said it would be 516 a month for 7 yrs lol. Who really pays 40k for a 14 thousand dollar car. Oh and the two cars I wanted to look at weren't there anyway. Sarah Rising 2 reviews a year ago Do not buy a used car from here. I chose Venice Honda after reaching out to multiple dealerships because of the ratings. I spent a week building rapport with Jennifer and telling her my needs. I wasn’t in the best situation and stuck with a dump of a car and needed more reliable transportation since I am expecting. I was told I would be taken care of. I traveled from Sarasota to Venice after scheduling a time with her to purchase a car. When I arrived to the dealership she was not available and I was given over to Omar. Omar was great, we went on a test drive and he told me if there were any issues to bring the car back because “we’re not that kind of dealership”. I noticed a few quirks and immediately texted him my concerns, which he handed off to Jennifer - who texted me to bring my car in and have service dept look at it. Again, I scheduled a time to be there and she was not available again and didn’t bother to inform anyone else the reason I was there so I received the runaround and ultimately left. Without my car getting looked at. They sold me a car with 300 miles to the next oil change, low fluids, and desperate need of a tuneup. I am upset I need to spend so much money fixing it up right off the lot. I expected more from a reputable dealership. They do not care about their customers needs, only making the sale. Pete Peterson (storybookcruises) 5 reviews 10 months ago I wanted to sell my car. I was contacted by Courtney. I told her I was offered $21.4k and she said what if I were to offer you $22k. I said it would be worth my time to drive 1-1/4 hours north for that. When I got there, they admitted my car was in excellent condition, but were only willing to offer me $21.5. So, I spent 2-1/2 hours driving roundtrip and they would not honor their offer? Not a good way to conduct business. I even offered to meet them half way in between, but they would still not honor their original offer. My word is my word, theirs is not! And by the way, Carmax sold my car for $27k. So Venice Honda still would have made $5k if they would have honored their offer! Evan Shtatskyi 11 reviews·1 photo 7 months ago Found an advertisement online, came to see the car to find out it’s not available at the dealership. Called 3 days in a row and no one called me back. Eventually they called me back and confirmed the car is ready for test drive. After coming to the dealership it turned out the car is not there. Almost 1 hour later they told us that the car didn’t pass safety inspection and is not for sale. Amateurs! Mitch Miles Local Guide·39 reviews·1 photo 9 months ago This dealer lies about what inventory they have on their website. I drove two hours to look at an Odyssey. I literally left right after I got off the phone with them saying they had multiple of them and they set up an appointment for 6:30. I arrive, I’m greeted by not the person who I spoke with on the phone and who asked I ask for them when I get there. When I asked for “Tiffany” no one knew who that was-even though I have a text message from her stating her name (I’m now assuming they make people up who handle online customer service). Magically they then had no Odysseys to show me but I then was shown one that “just came in” and was previously owned by some vet. It smelled like a barnyard. I asked about the other ones on their website (literally they were marketing that they still had them) and this rep just played dumb. “Oh, that might have been borrowed by another dealer”, “oh, the cars are flying off the lot”. It’s no excuse for the amount of people standing around that place that they can’t keep their inventory up to date. I would never trust buying a vehicle here. Literally zero values or morals. How can you trust anything they tell you i.e. inspections or safety of vehicles based on this experience? This place owes me a tank of gas. Lisa Underwood 5 reviews 3 months ago Went to their sales event and was told I qualified for several options - the rude salesman gave me 2 options only !! and every question I asked he said he'd have to ask manager - he knew nothing !! Took 2 trips to get a test drive, another 2 days to drive a broken car back, a week to get it ‘fixed’, only to find out by my mechanic that nothing was done. Worst car purchase experience of my life, and now I’m paying $1200 to fix a car that they sold me last month. Lied to by every person I dealt with. Told the manager would stand by the product, we will see. Also told they charge $1000 on top of the listed price to pay for the owners yacht! Unbelievable. Stay away. Susan Stender Local Guide·43 reviews·5 photos a year ago Steer clear of salesman FRANK D. In 6 emails back and forth with him confirming there was an accord sport for me to test drive then likely order I agreed to drive 1 hour to meet him. I asked him please... whatever you do... don't send me out there to try and sell me another car. He said of course not. I arrive and he pretends to look for the car in the lot knowing it's already gone. Now he's trying to show me a 4 year old car. I became frustrated that it's going to be 2 hours on the road and you do not have the car as you had promised the evening before. He became nasty to me and told me I was playing games. Yes I was delayed and late for our meet due to an accident and sitting in stopped traffic which I apologized for upon arrival and you said no big deal. He said he had no way to communicate with me which is a total fallacy for we were communicating back and forth via email. He says he couldn't reach me via phone I do not know why. If there was a typo on my online request for info it was not intentional. I wanted to speak to a salesman. Then he proceeded to blame me via email telling me it's not always the salesmen's fault it's the customers fault. Nerve of him. I went to another dealership directly after this nasty encounter with Frank. Bought the car and took it home that same day which I sent him pictures to prove I wasn't playing games. He is a nasty person and if you get him request someone else. Heidi Visceglia 10 reviews·1 photo 7 months ago Beware of the bait and switch advertising gimmick. Alyssa Local Guide·48 reviews·23 photos a year ago Honestly one of the worst car dealerships around this area. Test drove a jeep that had weed or cigarette ashes all in the cup holder. Sales man was a know it all, acted like our price range was $5 and couldn’t possibly ever find a vehicle. Walked 2 inches from your heels, didn’t let you get a word in & just straight up annoying. Brad Fresch 9 reviews 10 months ago Bait and switch. Inquired about a used vehicle. Got me all excited for a good deal and then drove an hour to make it happen. Vehicle was "already sold" when I arrived. Message me 1 hour before my appt to make sure I was coming and didnt tell me the vehicle wasnt there anymore. Tried selling me on a new one that was out of my price range. Terrible service. When I arrived I had a different salesman than who I talked to on the phone and he was great (Frank). Kaleb Donato Local Guide·46 reviews·13 photos 10 months ago I send a request email to see a vehicle, then I set up appointment and like always in a untrusted dealership I drive one hour for nothing, they sold the vehicle 😳🤣🤣🤣. Unfortunately this reflect a poor management team!!! Keep the good job and hoping for a better training!! Alexander Penalta Local Guide·28 reviews·12 photos a year ago This was the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I was a cash buyer. The used car sales team and two internet used car sales managers never followed up with me and failed to follow through with their assurance that they would draft the contract and provide me with the photos videos and pertinent information so that I could purchase the vehicle. I made it clear that I wanted to purchase the car and was prepared to tender payment immediately because I did not want to risk having someone purchase the car. When I called to follow up they informed me that the car was just sold. I have never been more disappointed in a Honda dealership by the way I was treated as a Hispanic, military navy veteran and an ambassador for Honda of North America with the S2000 club during the inaugural Indy Race in St. Petersburg. The sales team and managers don’t even deserve a 1 star rating. It took a great deal of time to get someone on the phone when he finally answered he was incredibly pushy and didn't like that I told him the bottom dollar was my motivator. When he inquired what was going to be my motivation to finally come in and see the car I reiterated that I wanted to know if there were any other incentives to bring down the price and if they could do anything on the bottom dollar that he knew how to contact me and he proceeded to hang up on me. Very unprofessional.

Paul Butler 58 reviews·8 photos a year ago Will never, ever, ever, ever do business with this dealership. A salesman was combative and argumental. What salesman argues with a customer when the only thing on the lot to sale is a soccer mom 2015 Odyssey? Until the argumental salesman is fired, I will never have anything to do with Venice Honda. PERIOD!!!! He needs to legit and be verified as FIRED from Honda payroll before I will ever consider doing business with Venice Honda. jamaih Local Guide·63 reviews·7 photos a year ago Buyer be-aware! The cars they sell are priced fair, however, they add on a bunch of bogus fees afterwards. The fees are, reconditioning fee, dealer fee, then your regular fees such as license fee / electronic fee + sales tax. These fees are not negotiable with them! My reconditioning fee for the car I was looking at was $1100+ lol. Also, they have multiple dealerships that sell the same car— just search the VIN # on Google and at minimum 2 other dealerships will have the same car. Also Kara doesn’t like her job. She’s the internet sales manager and literally hates everything about her job. You can ask her a simple question and she flips especially when you value your time. She tried pulling the “sex” card on me how I wasn’t treating her like a normal person: like I’m sorry you work in sales? I talk to everyone the same. Good luck Josh heeter 6 reviews a month ago Man these guys suck so bad. You should NOT buy a car here. Caren Naprawa 2 reviews 2 years ago I was very disappointed with our experience at Venice Honda. We worked out a deal for the vehicle we wanted only to be told the vehicle was already purchased. They offered to get us another crv. Then hid a lot of info by using a tablet to quickly scroll through the paper work. I must admit we trusted them to much to honor the deal they quoted us. When we got home and looked at the paperwork we realized they charged us the full price. I do like the car but would never recommend this dealership to anyone. It ruined the whole enjoyment of getting a new car. Ryan Perago 2 reviews 2 years ago Highly unsatisfied! Bought a used car out right (was only given one key, which broken exactly eight days after purchase) and was told they would fix the chipping paint issue we discussed during purchasing. When it came time for my appointment to get the paint fixed, I was as given the run around. The painter himself said he "cannot touch this" as it would require too much work and he didn't feel comfortable. Therefore, I went inside and expressed my concerns. Whilst being completely disregarded, I noticed the painter and another gentleman discussing my vehicle. All the sudden, I was told they could fix the issue (when ten minutes prior the painter said he said he couldn't). I ended up leaving as I was not able to speak to ANYONE about the other issues wrong with this car. I feel completely unvalued as customer and had an overall negative experience. Many broken promises, and would NOT recommend Venice Honda to ANYONE! Mark Heery 8 reviews 2 years ago I was very disappointed and angry over their bait and switch techniques. After being promised the vehicle I wanted was available I drove 20 miles buy it. Upon arrival I was told the vehicle was not there but they had one more expensive for me to look at. I voiced my displeasure but no managers were informed or did anything to resolve the issue. There was no importance in resolving the issue. Simply a sorry and have a nice day.poor management and lack of communication. Must be nice to allow a $10,000 cash sale to walk away. Ramses Guerrero 7 reviews·3 photos 2 years ago Very disappointed for several reasons. First of them when I purchased a used car with only 8,000 I looked at the engine and it had a bunch sticky substance they told me it would be clean during the detailing process. It was my fault for trusting them and not checking the engine. For my surprise the engine had only been cover with a liquid to make the plastic look nice but the substance is very sticky and the other sticky substance was never cleaned it was just left alone. The second problem was that they forgot to to put the mats in the car they told me they would put them back when I would go get my paint protection. When getting my car back from them after the paint protection the mats were still not there and since I picked up late the detailing place was close so I had to call about it the next day. After several calls of insisting they finally got me some new ones after 2 weeks or more of trying to get to them. The other thing is that I called several times to cancel my extended warranty because is just to hard to get in touch with someone to tell me the I formation I would need in case of needing the extended warranty. The first time of me calling they said they would call me back. They never did the second time they said they would cancel and send me an email they never did. The 4th and 5th time said they would come me back they have not called me yet. Very disappointed in the customer service I do not recommend this dealer after they sale you a car is hard to get things fix or do anything with them they already took your money and do not care anymore and even more if you are trying to cancel the extended warranty since is loading money for them and so they are just trying to keep it go for as long as possible Andrew Koennemann 1 review 2 years ago I spoke on the phone with an employee and I was told that they didn’t have the color I wanted in the 2021 Insight but if I gave them a few days, they could get the car to the dealer and I could drive away with the car that day. I arrived three days after this conversation, on the day we discussed, to find that the did not have the car and he was unable to locate the blue one but they have white ones on the lot. The employee then lied to me about the details discussed over the phone, saying he expressed doubt in finding the car, which he did not, and was disrespectful to me once I made him aware that I was not going to be purchasing a car from someone who swindled me into the dealership under false pretenses. I told him I will be leaving to which he raced to the front desk and took my keys to my trade in vehicle, withholding them from me until, after multiple furious requests, he handed them to me. This was a terrible experience for a first time car buyer. I will ensure anyone I am connected with will avoid this dealership. Cadel Fowl Local Guide·52 reviews·8 photos 2 years ago I would rate them lower if I could. Our personal experience with Fauls was atrocious. In my career as an automotive technician, if I spoke to a customer the way you did, I would be blacklisted from an industry known to have some very difficult customers, which we were not. Mr Fauls walked away quite rudely, angrily yelling about our "attitude" after we were unable to find an agreeable car for our price range, which we were always upfront about. Instead, they pushed higher priced vehicles onto our plate and got frustrated when we were financially motivated to decline the offerings. He might have thought he was slick enough to say it without us catching, but I did. Take your business elsewhere. These folk don't see customers, they only have the time for walking buckets of cash. Amorelle Olsen Local Guide·26 reviews·14 photos 4 years ago Terrible experience, dishonest pricing and service. I tried to sign on a new trade-in with Junior, who swore to me he was fighting for the best possible deal. Had to arrange some light financing as it was was a bit over my cash-payment budget, but I really liked the model and he emphatically assured it would go through. We were supposed to pick it up in the next couple days, however when contacted later was told they were having trouble with the financing as it was not for the preferred amount. They put in several requests at different institutions, for specifications we were later told would never work, damaging my credit record. I then decided to look at other viable models and they said they would contact me if anything fit. Was never reached out to again, until I inquired about an eerily similar model listed on their site, which turned out to be the same one. The online asking price was placed right at around 1,300 less than what they told me their absolute best deal was before, which I could have just paid all in cash for right from the start. Our associate Junior was explicitly informed of this and still insisted on financing so they could get a price well over what they would list. Perhaps because they knew I am new to dealership purchasing. Extremely inconvenienced and disappointed, definitely cannot recommend as trustworthy.

I understand why dealerships would do this but they knew I was driving an hour and a half to the dealership for this trade for this specific vehicle. When I get there it just mysteriously disappeared. I actually inquired about it over a week ago and didn't like the numbers. I passed on it and I wasn't even considering it anymore. Out of the blue, Kara had her assistant Emma call me and gave me all the numbers. I was happy. She told me the car would be waiting for me when I got there. When I get there it's gone. They deliberately got me to drive an hour and a half to their dealership knowing full well that they were gonna pull this on me. After their charade, Kyle has one other option where I can spend $6000 more for a brand new ridgeline (not the color nor model I wanted). Classic bait and switch! I wouldn't be so upset if I lived locally but I drove an hour and a half to them. They knowingly did this. They claim it was a mistake. To get the vehicle ready while I drove there, they had an hour and a half to locate this vehicle. They could have called me and said Hey turn back we don't have it here. Instead they let me drive the entire way. Now because of traffic I have to spend 2 hours to get back home. This wasted my entire afternoon. Do not trust this dealership! Very very shady!
