Get everything in writing! They are not trustworthy. Bought a truck, filthy dirty and didn't provide both sets of keys upon pickup. "Could only find one." Awful Customer "Service" Absolutely awful! I should have known better, from the snarky answer I got when I called to ask if a couple cars on their website were on their lot. T Absolutely awful! I should have known better, from the snarky answer I got when I called to ask if a couple cars on their website were on their lot. The salesman said "If they're on the site they're on the lot", however when I arrived they were still on the website and not on the lot. I was debating between them and another dealership and asked them to price match, which they did but they tried to bad mouth the other dealership and were very unprofessional. I then was given the price for the car in writing TWICE, and the finance guy wrote it wrong TWICE, and both times told me I must be confused and thinking of another place. I showed him the post-its on their branded letterhead and he still tried to deflect that it was my fault for thinking the price he wrote was correct... xxx?? Then they waited to send the title the same week the temp tag expired and they forgot to put my name on the title, so of course the DMV won't accept it! I've been calling all day and they won't answer any phone line... or return my voicemails... Did they close since June? Does anyone still work there? More
Great experience! - Augustine I found the whole experience to be very simple! Dealer fees a little expensive, but they need to make money like everyone else. Will go back! Recommended with reservations I'd rather buy a car from Velocity than anywhere else, but only because their business model is less repugnant than most who are still stuck in the 20 I'd rather buy a car from Velocity than anywhere else, but only because their business model is less repugnant than most who are still stuck in the 20th century where the salesperson had every advantage. Velocity at least recognizes that the buyer is armed with all the knowledge of the internet and comes in ready. You won't find overpriced vehicles at Velocity; in fact they will always be below Blue Book value. We arrived at the American Fork store at 9:15am on Memorial day and were literally out of there by 11:30am with exactly the car we wanted. However, (and this is a big however), it doesn't mean you'll save a lot of money in the process, or get a particularly good deal. Our finance guy (Cory) showed us how the car we wanted was priced just $300 more than Velocity paid for it. Our price was $8,995. But when he printed the total purchase order for me to sign, the bottom line was pushing $12,500. Why? Because of the $1,695 extended warranty from Alpha, and the $300 "theft protection" $5,000 insurance. Sounds like peace of mind, right? In reality, neither of these products is ever likely to be used, and I'm guessing somewhere between 50%-70% of this equals the profit margin Velocity makes on each sale. No wonder, as some reviewers have stated, they will actually refuse to sell the vehicle to you without the extended warranty. I'm not naive enough to think that it's because they want to make sure you're taken care of in the event of technical problems. For one thing, when you really take the time to work through the fine print, you'll find that the warrant really...doesn't....cover....anything that has Vegas odds of actually breaking. It covers many electrical components and even some mechanical, but you'll find that if it moves or is exposed to friction, odds are it's excluded. It was obviously written by an actuary calculating to provide maximum profit to split between the warranty company and retailing dealer. It says right on it "This is not an insurance policy" and boy are they not kidding. Make no mistake, your experience with the "salesperson" is so smooth and easy because the real selling is done in the finance office. I bought a 2010 Honda Odyssey from Velocity in April 2013 and after 5 years have not experienced any repair where the warranty helped even once. So bad on me for not reading all the fine print before I signed - the problem is, it was presented to me as an extension of the manufacturer's bumper-to-bumper comprehensive warranty, which is complete BS. Oh, and the $100 deductible for ANY repair is never mentioned. So why did I go back to buy another car there in May 2018 and why do I rate Velocity 4 stars? Look, you're going to get what you pay for whatever you do if you're well-informed. Yes, it's a bit of a bait-and-switch, but in the end you're going to pay just about the same anywhere else, and at least here you don't have to haggle and you get SOME warranty protection. You don't have to spend ALL DAY sitting in their offices waiting to "make a special deal". Know your stuff going in. If you can get them to sell you the car without the warranty then you will have won a major victory - I doubt they'll do it, but they may scale it back for you to cover only certain components, and drop the price. It's a business model better suited for this century, and there's no "let me check with my manager" nonsense, not because the people are empowered but because they have very strict rules that no one will break. It's kind of like simulated or enforced honesty, but it's sort of refreshing. I'll probably go back again. One cool thing - Brandon in the service department in Draper is fantastic. He took care of several little things THAT WERE NOT ON THE PURCHASE ORDER after the sale when he really could have given us the cold shoulder. That meant a lot. We brought donuts for Brandon when we came to pick up our car for the last time. More
Bad Customer Service, Bad Warranty. My wife and I didn't have an amazing experience at this place like all the reviews we read. The staff that brought you the cars to test drive were not knowledgeable about the cars on the lot, they couldn't answer any questions we had. The 3 times we came in it took 20-30 minutes to be helped, with multiple staff walking by, not asking if we needed anything. We honed in on a Subaru that we found online and the test drive was great but the radio didn't work at all and there were lots of stains on the inside of the glass on the dash. We really liked the car and wanted to buy this particular one if those things could be fixed. We expressed this to the salesmen who didn't pass it on to the manager who was dealing with the paperwork. It held us back another hour waiting to finalize things. David the finance manager was also very rude and short with my wife and didn't answer her questions about the warranty and called her "crazy". He misspelled our names multiple times on the contract which is silly, we had to revise them twice. Once we had the car it drove great and they did fix the problems we had. But we had serious problems with getting our plates through them. We had to physically pick them up a day before they expired because they "forgot to send them to the DMV" this was a pain as we live in Northern Utah and they knew this and said "you can just wait for it in the mail, and if you get pulled over, we will deal with the fees", yeah no. A month 1/2 later the battery went bad, and the supposed "full coverage warranty" we bought from them didn't cover it. These things are silly and small but we felt that it was enough to warrant a 2 star rating. We won't be going back and won't be sending any friends here. More

The saying is true, "if it seems to good to be t I am sure glad that I waiting to write this review. I knew I should not have trusted this dealership. The saying is true, "if it seems to good to be true, it probably is." So just this week I received a bunch of warnings from credit institutions because Velocity cars took so long to send the pay off check for the ~$170.00 left on my lease. But because of this my credit score which was near perfect and had zero blemishes on it has taken a ding and dropped an immediate 30 points. All thanks to the laziness of this dealership and not send out the payoff check in an efficient manner. All of this and now the drivers seat is starting to come apart on a 2016 vehicle I bought from this dealership. But I am going to wait and see what other issues pop up before I make my claim against the warranty I got through the company. Which I am sure I will find out doesn't cover any of issues I am running into. More

The sales rep was very helpful and we tried out a few cars. I told him we really liked two of the cars and let him know we were preapproved and I may be willing to swipe my card for some cash down. I wasn't there to negotiate a monthly payment, I was there to negotiate price. When we got to the finance manager he was a complete xxx. I was a little taken back by the $399 doc fee which is on the high side for Utah. I then caught his $299 on the contract and asked what it was. He explained it was a required Auto-theft insurance. I asked, "Shouldn't that be optional? Why should I pay my regular insurance provider for that and pay you for that?" He couldn't say anything but "we require all of that on our cars!" I pressed him a bit but same answer all three times I asked. The way he said it too really pissed me off and he then proceeded to say we move 450 cars/month. My response was "that's fine." From there he was really going to have to make up lost ground. He tried to make it up by asking about what I was willing to pay monthly and I straight forward told him I'm not here to negotiate monthly payment. I'm preapproved and I have a max I can put down and max I'm willing to take on a loan. He came down to $99 on that xxxxxxxxx Auto-Theft Insurance "fee" and I think that pissed me off more. I walked. Didn't care to shake his hand and said too bad for you, we're in no rush and it's only our first week looking at cars. Don't waste your time here. They all have really nice computers there and they take really nice pictures of their inventory. They are better at marketing than they are at customer service. More

When I got there, he had it running and let me take it for a test drive for as long as I needed. No pressure or push from him or the other employees. The finance manager was especially friendly, and helped me get everything situated for my first car purchase. The whole process was almost seamless, and I drove off the lot in about an hour. More
