It appears that Vaughn Automotive Cadillac in Iowa has a significant amount of incompetent or lazy staff, with E-mails not returned by various staff, telephone calls not returned and an arrogant and lazy finance person. The only bright spot was a salesman, Jacob, who did a good job representing the dealership. We purchased and immediately wired 65K for a new Cadillac XT6 to Vaughn Automotive in Iowa and they held our monies hostage literally due to their incompetence for days. Vaughn staff sent paperwork to us, the customer, for a salvage title in the wrong State for a brand new Cadillac. Sweet! Financial data was wrong and their staffer was not interested in determining why when we informed them. He literally refused to figure out what was wrong. Customer finally took a portion of the money back and did title, tags, registration and paid taxes ourselves in our State. Dealer then inappropriately called our auto carrier in New York without our knowledge and canceled the pick up because they did not have their paperwork in order - even though they were fully paid and we had a new title in our State which was shocking. We paid the auto carrier and they placed us in default of our contact with the carrier. In the end, our financial numbers were correct and the dealership wrong as we informed them. As customers hundreds of miles away, we dealt by E-mail and documented all of the above, which is not all of the problems we had with Vaughn Automotive. We plan to contact Cadillac corporate. Vaughn has other on-line ratings similar to what we are submitting - and you had better believe it is was a disappointing and arrogant experience. We wish we had never heard of Vaughn Automotive in Iowa. I see that a Mr. VanNess at Vaughn is responding to review comments on this site - one of the people we wrote to who did nothing. That's precious. More

Unprofessional. Real unprofessional dealership. Looked ip on their website and saw some certain lucrative rebates. Called up the dealership asking hey I see certain rebates and can you confirm if those are a on their website and saw some certain lucrative rebates. Called up the dealership asking hey I see certain rebates and can you confirm if those are applicable. The sales representative asked for a downloaded quite from their website to be sent over on his mail. After couple of calls handed over the call to another sales rep lady. She said reluctantly that yeah if it was applicable this morning. I dont see a reason why it shouldnt be valid now. I mentioned that I would be travelling down from Des Moines and I would be interested only if that lucrative rate is applocable. She insisted me to come down. However it was straight away denied. I was in awe that how unprofessional and rude people could be when even after repeatedlyme tio i g that I could spare the 2 hours drive if tbe rebate is nit applicable. Utter unprofessionalism. More
For your finances and sanity avoid like the plague. Bought a 2019 ram (new) they finance threw my regular credit union. I was concerned about the interest rate as I have excellent credit. I asked if th Bought a 2019 ram (new) they finance threw my regular credit union. I was concerned about the interest rate as I have excellent credit. I asked if the rates come down if I could refinance. They assured me I could (LIE). I had 3 recalls on truck. I called to set appointment, they told me they could get me in that day knowing the recalls. I left work drove hour and a half, sat for an hour only to be told they didn't have time to do it. They call me several weeks later, arrange an appointment for same recalls, I show up, half the day they have my truck then call me and tell me they dont have the parts to do the work. Now im on the 3rd time for the same stuff...6 hour job turned into day and a half, other bs things went on during this visit. I also had a screw in tire i asked them to fix. They called saying my truck had 4 punctures and I needed a $250 tire, I suspected they were lying. They put a new tire on and i requested they take it off. After picking up the truck i took it to a tire shop it had 1 puncture from the screw I told them about, nothing else. My truck was hit lightly..i took to them for an estimate mainly for sh@ts and giggles. They gave a quote of $2400 and had a full page of "needed parts" and all this "necessary labor" what they didnt know is I have a friend who does body work... I needed 3 parts. We went threw what vaughns was charging for parts 1 by one...a bumper for instance vaughns price-$600, rams price via internet-$400..and this is just one...not to mention all the other stuff the truck didnt need. Insurance fraud? Im thinking yes it probably is. More
Absolute worst dealership I’ve ever worked with. Employees were very rude and literally rolled their eyes while talking with me. Would never recommend to anyone. Employees were very rude and literally rolled their eyes while talking with me. Would never recommend to anyone. More
Purchased a certified used 2016 Corvette. Pricing was good and purchase process was easy. Jordan Rook was a pleasure to deal with. That is the good, here is the bad. The car was listed as a one owner vehicle, but Vauhn Chevrolet had already sold it once before as a certified used car. They certainly knew that it was not a one owner car. The worst thing though is the service department performed an oil change and underserviced the oil by 2+ quarts. The Corvette has 2 different oil systems depending on whether or not it has the Z51 package. It appears that they serviced the non Z51 7 quarts instead of the Z51 9.8 quarts. This is really unacceptable for a Chevrolet dealer and that is why I cannot recommend this dealership. More
Worst sales ever - cash in hand and sales person took off. Ready to buy a 2020 truck. Sales person thought it was more important to service a different customer. Left us hanging for 45 minutes after we had picked the truck out and waiting for paperwork. We were ready to negotiate and determine what was best for buying the new truck. After 45 minutes, I had to go find the sales person outside who was talking to another customer. We just wanted the paperwork so we could get on our way with our new truck. He said that another customer came in early for their delivery appointment. He then went to his sales manager (Bob) and was there for another 10 minutes. Bob came and introduced himself and said that they couldn't satisfy our trade-in value request - never even tried to negotiate. Then I mentioned that our sales person left us hanging for 45 minutes. Bob's response was "well, they had an appointment." So did we have an appointment at 1:15. We left at 3:40 very frustrated. We were truly only $1,500 off on our deal. So, $72,000 to $74,000 deal shot to xxxx for them. We would have paid cash for the truck without even considering a trade-in. We would have driven the new truck home along with the truck they wouldn't give us a fair trade for. Attitude from Bob was so unprofessional and appalling. Worse is that as soon as GM comes out with light tan interior again (as I explained to Weston), I expect to purchase an $87,000 1 ton truck. NEVER go to Vaughn unless you want to waste a day for nothing and see your sales person trying to work multiple deals at the same time. More
Communication is good until you sign the line. Bought a truck from them in September. They were great when I first inquired about the truck through email on auto trader. I was an out of state buyer Bought a truck from them in September. They were great when I first inquired about the truck through email on auto trader. I was an out of state buyer so I was kinda buying it site unseen. I did pick it up myself though. And through the buying process they were helpful. Although they were very pushy to use there financing. I made it clear from the start I was using my local credit union and I was bringing a check for full asking price with me. Now for the part that I would consider less them great. First, I've never bought a truck that wasn't full of fuel when I purchased it. After I signed all the papers I was told that because it's a certified GM vehicle that the first 2 oil changes were free. Well I just came up to the first oil change, so I took it to the local GM dealer (they said it had to be a GM dealer to receive the free oil changes). GM dealer ran the vin and said there is no record of it. So i went ahead and paid for the oil change. Anyways I tried calling the dealer to just ask them about it. I talked with 4 different people that just passed me on till I finally had to leave a message. Maybe it was a mistake, maybe it wasn't. But I guess I wont ever know because they won't return a phone call. My two issues are on the minor side of things. But it's still not the customer service one should receive after spending 45,000$. Those two small things are what makes customer service great. Just a call back would be great so I can understand my oil changes. More
