My husband and I came in to this dealership at 10 AM and we found a great car. We were in the process of buying the car when all of the sudden our salesman, Robert Newcombe, came to us and asked us if we wo we found a great car. We were in the process of buying the car when all of the sudden our salesman, Robert Newcombe, came to us and asked us if we would be interested in buying a much less quality brand of car while we were already in the paperwork stage of buying the car we intended to buy. He then started telling us AFTER we were already approved for a loan that we would need a larger down payment or a co-signer, both of which options we casually told him previously were not an option. He started to become really antsy and very rude and when we were all done filling out the paperwork and it came time for us to sign, he told us that we would not be able to have the car. So after us being there for 5 hours, we later found out that at 12 noon, somebody came and was also interested in the car and they sold it to her. They never said anything to us and just let us continue to fill out the paperwork. I explained the situation to a manager and then Robert called me a liar to my face. I never received an apology but once the car was available again Robert was the sweetest, most apologetic man. It turns out, the lady who came and bought the car took it back and now Robert is after us; calling us, emailing is, mailing us, and even calling my MOTHER! It was a horrible experience and I will never go back there. More
Great Dealership. I called all the other Honda dealerships in the area and this was the only one that was willing to help including the Honda dealership that my husband works at. I will recommend this dealership to any of my friends/family that want to buy cars and will continue to use vatland for any of my new car's needs :) More
I had a great experience at Vatland Honda. The dealership is beautiful. Both David and Bill were very helpful with my purchase of a new 2011 Honda Odyssey (which is the coolest van ever). Everyon dealership is beautiful. Both David and Bill were very helpful with my purchase of a new 2011 Honda Odyssey (which is the coolest van ever). Everyone in the building was pleasant and the sales staff was extremely knowledgeable. No one was pushy and I felt I got a good deal in a timely fashion. This is the first car I've purchased without having to argue with the salesman or wait for hours to agree on pricing. There was also no push to buy extra stuff. All in all it was a great experience. mechanic avdised window moter was bad and needed repalced and it was possible that the regulator would be found to be bad. Took to another mechanic the next day and he replaced the regulator only. you guys w and it was possible that the regulator would be found to be bad. The salesman, Bruce Barnett was wonderful, not pushy, easy to talk to, was very informative and polite. He made me feel very much at ease during the entire purchase process. I know that I will be able to count on him with any service needs. The entire atmosphere at Vatland was very good, everyone polite and helpful. The facility was attractive and clean and you could tell from the waiting area and facilities that they are customer oriented. More
I purchased my used 2008 Honda Accord from Rick Fuss on Sept 13, 2010, nice guy, unfortunately he is no longer with Vatland Honda, Chris Smith Used Car Manager, also a nice guy, both worked hard to help me Sept 13, 2010, nice guy, unfortunately he is no longer with Vatland Honda, Chris Smith Used Car Manager, also a nice guy, both worked hard to help me out. Robin Staples in the Finance Dept. made numerous mistakes 1. by selling me a Honda Care Warranty that I feel he knew was not applicable in Europe where I would be moving within 2 years. I was very up front. I found this information out by calling Honda Care because I didn't see anything in their contract stating that the guarantee was good all over the world at any Honda Dealership, I called Vatland and waited 1 week for Robin to confirm that my information was correct, he never called back, I needed to call him, he sent me the paperwork to cancel the warranty, I sent it back the same day. I called one month later, the bank hadn't received the money, I called Honda Care and the warranty had not been canceled, I canceled it directly over the phone and it took 2 weeks to get the money returned to the bank. Mr. Vatland feels this all was a miscommunication. 2. I also came in with a Bank of America guaranteed 4.09% for my bank car loan, I was told I would be getting that from the bank Vatland worked with to make it easy, Suntrust, I didn't, I got 4.3%, can't change that now without additional costs to me or a higher loan percentage. Also a miscommunication. 3. Robin the Finance Manager also told me that once I received the canceled warranty refund, the balance would be lowered on the loan and we would pay a lower monthly payment. Not true. Mr. Vatland feels that this also has been a miscommunication. I bought a great car, thanks to Rick Fuss, runs fabulous, looks great thanks to Chris Smith. The service department is very nice and efficient. I say stay away from the finance dept. When doing the paperwork Robin Staples made several mistakes. If I hadn't caught the warranty, I would have been out $1540.00 with no recourse. Now I have a higher loan % and a higher monthly payment, thanks to Robin Staples. Unfortunately, Mr. David Vatland Dealership Owner can't do anything to help me without costs to me. This all wouldn't have happened if Robin Staples hadn't sold me a warranty that wasn't applicable to me, then my experience would have been perfect. When having communications with Vatland, they seem to have several email problems, sending an email to them from their site doesn't work, and they somehow don't receive emails that you send. But maybe that is again, miscommunication on my part of course. Everyone is friendly and smiling. But the bottom line is, Are the employee's good at their jobs?? It is very difficult to rate this Dealership, I want people to read my rating, this is do to one person's performance and maybe the owner too for taking the easy road, miscommunication. This started Sept. 13 2010 and it is now Nov 5th. It's now over. Honda's are great cars and this was my experience with Vatland. I have bought 3 new Honda's, this is my 4th and it's used, all have been great cars. This is my only bad car experience, thank God!! More
This is a GREAT dealership! One that knows that it's the people they hire that make the sale. In our whole transaction, we never met anyone at Vatland that made us wonder if we were making the right choice people they hire that make the sale. Starting,and continuing, with Thor Rusk, our sales consultant who not only made us feel welcome but continues to make us feel welcome. I wish all dealships could understand that people like to be feel they are welcome at any time, NOT just when buying. Thor has gone out of his way to always make us feel welcome and appreciated - not in only the obvious ways a salesman would do but as a friend. Not only would we have no problem recommending Thor and Vatland to our friends but we know of three vehicles sold by them through our recommendation. And, no, we do not receive a "bird dog" fee for referrals. We do this because we know! If Vatland has a special recoginition for it's sales people, Thor certainly deserves it. But it's not only the salesman who deals with the customer. We've had very pleasant experiences with all the personnel with whom we've dealed at Vatland. ALL the personnel! And, they had the best price as well. Will we come back? Yes. Will we recommend? Already have and will continue. Tammy Merrill Vero Beach FL More
This was my 3rd Honda purchased at Valand and I am loving it. From the salesmen to the service department I have only received a 5 star treatment for each of the cars that I purchased. It has been a pleasure to deal with Bill Schumacher since my first experience with Vatland Honda. I had never in the past been treated so well by any other sales consultant. He has always been extremely courteous and helpful, and I would just prefer not to deal with anyone else. I'll be honest, if and when he retires, I'm not sure what I'll do. I have also, always been pleased with the service department, I don't think I've ever had any complaints. I plan to have Bill help me at least one more time, to pick out my next CRV. The one I will probably keep when I retire. He is the best! More
Original reason for visit to Vatland Honda was to compare differences in size between the Civic and Accord. While viewing some late model cars, Jacques Pons came over and explained some of the differences be differences in size between the Civic and Accord. While viewing some late model cars, Jacques Pons came over and explained some of the differences between the Civic and Accord and invited us to take one of the Accords for a ride. Already owning a Honda Odessey we were equally impressed with Accord. Upon returning we made the decision to purchase it. Mr Pons made a fair offer for the car we were trading and contributed to the timely preparation of all documents for the sale. Robin Staples was also a pleasure to work with. A good explanation of the documents we were signing and a suggestion that we consider an extended warranty was very helpful in reaching a final decision. Having purchased a number of cars over the past years I found dealing with Vatland Honda a pleasure. No pressure or push just help in making a decision. More
