Sales people were very customer friendly. Able to work the deal over the phone and very quickly. Paperwork was fast. Over an 18-24 month period my wife and I debated whether we should replace our older car. I bought a new toyota avalon which had a faulty transmission one month later. Vann York replaced the car with a brand new car within 48 hours, completely free of charge. My auto purchase was not something I had planned or wanted to do at this time. My car was totaled and left me with no choice. I called around to a lot of dealers and also checked online as well. Doing this put my contact information out for dealers to reach me and boy did they! Some dealers or salesmen called me over and over. I took one call from Mike Reid at Vann York Toyota. Mike looked at my finances and credit and told me what he could do for me. I asked Mike what kind of deal I could expect and was told "I'm not going to pick your next car, thats up to you." I was very Impressed by this non pushy approach. Over the next several days I had work and family functions that prevented me from visiting any dealerships but I must have received one hundred calls from various sales people. I received one call from Mike informing me of his schedule and that was it. I can't convey how comfortable Mike made me feel by not "sales stalking" me. When I visited the dealership I was meet by Mike with a smile and a hand shake. It was a cold rainy Saturday and we looked at at least five different cars. I looked at new and used and was afforded a test drive in each vehicle I had interest in. I found two vehicles I liked and had a decision to make. Mike didn't push me in either direction. Once I had decided on what I wanted Mike walked me through the process with ease answering every question and taking his time getting things done. I was then intrduced to the finance and insurance department where Gregg took his time with all the paper work and offered great off topic conversation to help pass the time while papers where printing. I have made several new and used car purchases from several dealerships and would have to say this was by far the easiest and most enjoyable purchase yet. Because Vann York Toyota is my local dealer and that it has an established relationship with my place of business, High Point University I visited them to talk about possibly trading in my 2006 Toyota Tund has an established relationship with my place of business, High Point University I visited them to talk about possibly trading in my 2006 Toyota Tundra with 51, 000 plus miles. I had originally surfed their website trying to see if they may be interested in my vehicle and originally I was contacted by Charles Martin. I began to check other sources to see what the price of my Tundra would be if I traded it or if I sold it outright? Seeing what the market was bringing, I then stopped by one day at lunch and met Peter Bowman. Peter was kind enough to ask what type of vehicle I was looking to buy/lease and I advised that I wanted a 2013/2014 Tundra SR-5 with a 4.6 liter V-8, tow package, 18" wheels, backup camera, step rails, body side moldings and deck rails. There was a vehicle similar to what I wanted on the lot, so I told Peter that I would be back on Saturday, November 23, 2013 to talk more about a possible transaction. My wife and I arrived on Saturday, and we given a test drive in the vehicle similar to the one I wanted. After the test drive, we began to discuss options for me in order to try and make a deal which I thought was fair and fit my budget. Having driven a Tundra for the last seven years and never having experienced one problem in those seven years, I was certainly not going to go to another brand of pick-up. We were unable to come to a resolution that Saturday, but I appreciated the fact that everyone concerned was trying to help me get to the place I wanted to be, with a new truck with the options I wanted and at a price that I could afford. There was no high pressure on anyone's part, only concern that I got what I wanted and it was affordable. Deep down inside, I loved the truck that I test drove, and I was hoping that a deal could be reached. For the next few days, Peter and I traded e-mails and I advised that I would be back in on Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. My wife and I arrived on Friday and that is when I found out that the vehicle I had test driven had been sent to another dealer at their request. While somewhat disappointed, I was assured that whatever I wanted, it would be sought out and delivered to Vann York as soon as someone could get to where it was located. On Friday, the deal was made and when I arrived on Saturday, my vehicle was sitting there. It was not equipped exactly as I had specified, but the equipment that I had ordered was ordered (Step Rails, Clear Coat Protection, 18" alloy wheels and body side moldings). As soon as the parts arrive, I will be notified and they would be installed in one day!! I must note that Peter Bowman went to another dealer and picked up my future vehicle and drove it back to Vann York on Friday night after his day had ended. That is dedication and performance above and beyond his normal sales duties in my mind. I can't thank him enough!! Saturday, my new vehicle was cleaned up and Charles Martin went over all the bells and whistles that it had, going so far as to help me sync my phone to the Bluetooth system in the vehicle. Charles explained all the technical jargon in layman's terms so that I could understand and that was most appreciated as well. Finally and what I thought was really super customer service, Charles helped me move an entire pickup bed of equipment from my old vehicle to my new vehicle in what appeared to be a very expensive suit. My experience at Vann York Toyota was far above the normal customer service, before, during and after the sale. Being 66 years old, hopefully this won't be my last Tundra or Toyota vehicle, and should I be able to obtain another one, I would only go one place to get it, Vann York Toyota. I will highly recommend them to all of my friends and family should they be in the market for both a new or used vehicle. In my 66 years on this earth, this was the best experience I ever had at a car dealership, BY FAR!!
