To me, the mark of a good customer experience is when the employees of the business help and inform the customer without pressuring him or her to make a purchase. My experience buying a used car at Vann York employees of the business help and inform the customer without pressuring him or her to make a purchase. My experience buying a used car at Vann York Toyota meets these criteria. My salesperson, Keo Xayavong, was great to work with. I came with a couple of ideas already from looking at the listings on the dealership’s website. Keo talked me through the advantages and disadvantages of each, but there was none of the pressure I had experienced at other dealerships to buy either of the two cars or to opt for a more expensive third choice. He printed the full CarFax of both cars for me to review. When I committed to buying, I felt that it was genuinely my decision rather than one I had been manipulated into. The price matched what I had seen online, and all additional (standard) fees were disclosed to me up-front. I also wanted to pay the entire cost up-front rather than financing. There was no pressure to go for one approach to payment over another—again, a type of pressure I experienced at other dealerships. Sealing the deal was pressure-free, too. Rodrigo talked me through the costs and benefits of all the extra service plans available and helped me to make informed decisions about those. When I chose not to purchase any of them, there was no attempt to change my decision or persuade me that I actually “needed” them. I discovered a minor issue a couple of days after bringing the car home: the vehicle was leaking a fluid. I called the dealership and brought the car back to them. Derek and the service department were able to diagnose the problem (a water valve that was leaking coolant under pressure), obtain a replacement part, and make the needed repairs free of charge under the dealer warranty, all within 24 hours. Everyone I interacted with at Vann York Toyota, even the folks I only spoke with on the phone, seemed genuinely interested in helping me, not merely taking my money. Why can’t all businesses be like that? No complaints at all about my experience. If I am still living in this area the next time I buy a car, I plan to look first at this dealership. More
