I would not recommend this location to anyone. Went to Vandergriff Toyota due to an online ad for a used Honda CRV. At 10 a.m., no customers around but us, had to wait. Then, they said it was sold and offered to show us a Toyota Rav4 instead, but it was a higher price. We said no thanks and went to leave, but then they "found" the CRV. Said it had been sold but then returned due to financing issues. Said they had to "prep" it. The saleswoman (don't recall her name and she never gave a card; young woman) walked us out to the used car row where the vehicle had been sitting the entire time - it was still hot inside of it. Drove it; noticed a few flaws but had to determine what. Asked for CarFax; waited. Waited more. Got CarFax. Had been in 2 or three accidents, tho deemed "minor" by CarFax. Said price would have to be adjusted. They ran my credit before we agreed on price, even tho I said I did not want to (did not want extra credit pulls while still shopping for a car for my 16 year old). Saleswoman - dreadful at her job -- came back with a price that was $3000 over the ad price and it also had another $600+ in "options." Really?? What extra cost options are on a used car unless we ask for something? We said no, pointed out it was not even the advertised price. Saleswoman came back and literally said, "Well, he'll match the online price." Really??? And, they didn't. It was still $500 over the online price. Additionally, while we were still in the car at the end of the test drive, another salesperson brought another customer over to see the same vehicle. During the negotiation (such that it was), the saleswoman even said the higher price was what the other folks offered for the car. I think they probably came because of the ad like us, and they didn't look stupid. My wife and I left this location and we won't be back. I did find the other customers on my way out to make sure they asked for the CarFax and knew the online price. I don't think they bought either since the car is still showing for sale online a week later. I will not be back to this dealership. More

I exchanged quite a few emails/phonecalls with a sales person and after looking at all the options and prices, shorlisted 2 of them. Once I arrived, I had to talk to another salesperson, who basically told me that all the information that I had been told so far was plain incorrect and he doesnt have any of the cars, never had. Kind of telling me that it was just a ploy to get me to visit them, and proceeded to show me other models on his computer. I was surprised to hear this and told him it wasn't fair, to which his response was "I told you once that I dont have them, do you want to see these ones or not". I couldn't believe what I was hearing but I had driven an hour from east dallas in rush hr traffic and didnt want my trip to go to waste. However, his apologetic and arrogant behavior continued. Ultimately when I asked to see those other cars (5 in number) once more, > "I already showed them to you" > "Can you pls show them again" > "I cant do this with you, you need to talk to someone else", and walked out of the room. As I am sitting there in disbelief, another guy walks in, probably his manager and tells me that they sold the ones I had been told earlier, about 3 hrs ago, contradictory to what the 1st salesman had told me over the phone. He said he could show me the other ones like I wanted. By this time I had enough of their lies, couldnt trust a word of what they said and left. Needless to say, I didnt get the car from them. More

The salespeople sit in front of the dealership like buzzards perched on the fence waiting to pick the meat from your bones. The salesperson has to run back and forth to consult with the sales manager perched up in his ivory tower because he is above dealing face-to-face with the customer. After being totally insulted with the low ball offer for my trade and actually giving up on making a deal twice and having the salesperson follow us to our car pleading and to get one more try we finally made a deal. If you like playing games this is the place to come to. I have been buying new cars for over thirty years and this was the worst experience ever. The only redeeming part of the entire experience was dealing with the gentleman in the finance department. He was very polite and concerned with doing what was right for us the customer. You can get a deal but be prepared to work hard to get it! More

We bought the 2011 highlander last summer. The salesman is friendly and price is OK. We had to bring the car back for some defect and the service could not fix it. My experience with my salesperson, Joyce was delightful, she answered all of my questions and was very helpful. I would buy from her in a heartbeat, it's a shame her sales and ability to feed her family ar she answered all of my questions and was very helpful. All the negotiations went well until I asked to take the car to a mechanic. Then they came to a screeching halt and I asked to speak directly with the manager that Joyce had been busy running back and forth to get approval from. I should have turned and run the minute I walked into the large space that the managers share. One of the managers had his back to me and announced in a loud voice "Dewey, Cheatam and Howell" (for those of you unfamiliar with this term it translates to "Do We Cheat Them and How") all the other managers started doing fake coughs, rustling papers, shifting in their seats, etc…. It was VERY uncomfortable and he then turns to look at me and just said "oh!" and walked out. I was then introduced to Robert Cook, who is sitting at an elevated desk that looks down on us peons that are buying. Robert's Last name should be CROOK not Cook...Beware of this shifty shyster!!! I asked to take the car to be looked over by my mechanic and he told me that I needed to fill out all of the financing paperwork before I leave and then they would rip it up if the mechanic found anything wrong with it. I guess he thought because I am a woman or just too stupid to not realize that by filling out the "paperwork" I would have actually purchased the car. He told me that he could not have it off the sales floor long enough for me to have it checked out. I explained that he had the car sold to me if it checks out. He again insisted that I fill out the paperwork and again I declined. When it became obvious he wasn't going to persuade me into purchasing it on the spot he then said I could come back in two days and take it to the mechanic. I live over an hour away, that was an additional roundtrip trip for me; I originally said I would be back but once I left the dealership, my experience with Mr. Cook left me wondering what was wrong with the vehicle that he didn't want me to have it checked out initially, in addition to the fact that the vin number that was on the website didn't register a vehicle with Carfax. The only Carfax I have ever seen on this auto was one produced by Mr. Cook. After reading other reviews on this dealer I wonder now what things are not on this Carfax. The worst part is he tried to joke around with me and pretend he had my best interest in mind and tried to point out how they weren't even making any money on this auto because he had "put" so much into it-new tires, some additional molding work, etc...Turns out he wasn't even talking about the right vehicle! I know each person's experiences are different so I'm not telling to not go there...I'm just telling you to do your homework before you do and proceed with caution! More
