I purchased a 2001 PT Cruiser in January 2011. We were unable to pick the vehicle up until they "completely" serviced all areas of the vehicle. After a couple days wait the vehicle was ready. Im unable to pick the vehicle up until they "completely" serviced all areas of the vehicle. After a couple days wait the vehicle was ready. Immediately noticable was the need for shocks; but we just decided that we'd have those replaced. Without exaggeration, this vehicle has been in the shop at minimum once a month. In addition to shocks, it has required a complete brake job due to erosion and rust, new radiator, thermometer, 2 tires, battery, alternator, and now a power steering pump and transmission. Purchasing a factory direct new vehicle from them "may" be trustworthy; however, since we have had such terrible experienced with the car they supposedly serviced and wouldn't sell if not a good dependable vehicle, I would never recommend them to anyone in the market for any type of vehicle. Customer service and honesty are more valuable than any sale or commission. A new vehicle can just as easily be purchased across the street. A few years ago, we purchased a vehicle for the same price in Grapevine and the dealer even lowered the price since the purchase was for a college student new to the area. Of the three years that we had the vehicle, the only defect or problem encountered was a rear window that would not roll down. Sadly that vehicle was totaled in an accident which lead us to the need to purchase the Cruiser. We have decided to put this vehicle up for sale for a minimal due to much frustration. Hopefully with all of the work that we have had done, it will bring better luck to the next person. Needless to say, Vandergriff's reputation is mud with our family. More
I wanted to take the time and express to you my extreme pleasurable experience in my recent purchased of a 2011 Camry LE. I had been looking at cars for roughly two weeks and visited many dealerships, and pleasurable experience in my recent purchased of a 2011 Camry LE. I had been looking at cars for roughly two weeks and visited many dealerships, and talked with a lot of salesman. I must tell you that my interaction with both Mr.Terry Coleman and Mr. Gem Bertone was very professional, courteous and dare I say it pleasant, was the reason I purchased a car from Vandergriff Toyota. I have discussed my car buying experiences, some not so good, with my friends, and I have endorsed and highly recommended both of these gentlemen and Vandergriff Toyota as a place to purchase their next car. Again, thank you Terry and Gem. More
I bought my 2010 Camry there and drove it for a year. They called me and offered to trade me out of my 2010 and get me into a 2011 for a lower rate and payment. Had to do it. Thank guys! If I could rate it with 0 stars I would. The worst buying and customer service experience I have ever had. The best part of the transaction? The fact that Mr. Whitlock finally agreed to take the car back and customer service experience I have ever had. The best part of the transaction? The fact that Mr. Whitlock finally agreed to take the car back today, and give me my trade in back. Somehow, I was WELL informed that one of their finance people was the original owner; who bought and serviced the vehicle at Vandergriff. All of that information checks out on the Carfax."What doesn't show on the Carfax?", you ask? Oh yeah, the fact that the vehicle had been in a major collision. Guess he (previous owner/Vandergriff Employee) didn't believe he had the obligation to disclose to the dealership that employs him that the car had $3000 worth of damage from the collision that "never took place" according to Mr. Ashford and Mr. Cook--two sales managers that I only wish no one else has to deal with. Here's the kicker--the vehicle was missing the Energy Absorber in the front bumper. AND--the Reinforcement Bar needed to be replaced. Both of which are safety issues, and can greatly compromise the functionality of the air bag system. So, my only hope for you is that if you choose to purchase a vehicle from these people--that you have it inspected before you sign the dotted line, by a 3rd party. Don't think that just because it is a major Toyota dealership you can trust the quality of the vehicle you are going to purchase. Also--after my 180 mile trek home, I began my search on Auto Trader for the perfect Prius--to my surprise Vandergriff has it listed for sale again!!! (just a hint...it's a black one...2010...) They may not disclose the fact that the vehicle was in a major collision, and it won't show on Carfax, but I am here to save you from making the same mistake I did. Mr. Whitlock, thanks for taking the car back, and for giving me back my trade. For all the rest of you...there is a special place in the world for people like you. More
Chris Nyakundi was friendly and very professional. Even answered some questions I forgot to ask. He handled the entire transaction in an efficient, straightforward manner. Thanks to Scott in the service answered some questions I forgot to ask. He handled the entire transaction in an efficient, straightforward manner. Thanks to Scott in the service department for recommending Chris. I have always had good service experiences when dealing with Scott in the past and felt confident asking for his recommendation. Radonna explained the whole process very well. It was more like a visit than a business transaction. Even got my picture taken for promotional purposes. I have forgotten the name of the guy that handled the finances. He did not use any pressure, but I was convinced to buy the extended warranty for the first time in my life. His explanation made it seem like a good option. I'm very happy with my new Tacoma and with all aspects of the sales process. This is my second vehicle purchase from Vandergriff Toyota and they will be the first consideration for any vehicles I might buy in future. More
I got there on a Saturday evening, and as I was going to buy my 1st car :) I totally forgot my cellphone and wallet at home! They worked smoothly and with gentleness, been flexible to my needs and asking as buy my 1st car :) I totally forgot my cellphone and wallet at home! They worked smoothly and with gentleness, been flexible to my needs and asking as many questions as they could to make sure I wanted to buy that specific car. At the end it got a bit longer, because of the final insurance questions, but they were very friendly. It also was the cheapest price in DFW, as I visited 3 other TOYOTA dealers and non came closer to (all asked more than $1000 extra for the same car) Nick's offer. I was his 4th sale of that Saturday, so I guess he has the ability to work patietly with his costumes' needs. More

It was frustrating that they advertise a sale price and then have add-ons on the used cars like the $599 On-Gard Security. Did research and found out this costs the dealer between $20-25 a car, but they ad then have add-ons on the used cars like the $599 On-Gard Security. Did research and found out this costs the dealer between $20-25 a car, but they add it to every used car to pad their profit. Very disreputable in my opinion. More
The sales person has very informative. In fact he was very blunt about prices/discounts. At first I thought he was pulling some sales ticks when he told me the Base Camry was sold but he showed me how it very blunt about prices/discounts. At first I thought he was pulling some sales ticks when he told me the Base Camry was sold but he showed me how it was unavailable in the system. From the very beginning he told me what discount I will get. He was informative about what makes the Toyota Camry much better than the competition. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE DEALERSHIP is that they advertised a 5K off MSRP but all of their cars had an after market dealer additions (About 1K) that I didn't care for and those additions offset the advertised discount. I think they should have been more transparent about the details of the sale. More
I was really impressed with the level of service I received from the very start. Everyone was very professional, but at the same time, very down to earth. Even when I returned to have my license plate received from the very start. Everyone was very professional, but at the same time, very down to earth. Even when I returned to have my license plates put on the car, everyone was very nice. Its obvious they have a good customer service training plan in place. More
