Hello, as long standing customers and the purchaser of 6 (yes SIX) vehicles in the last 6 years, my wife and I are VERY DISAPPOINTED with how we were treated by the entire new car sales staff recently. O (yes SIX) vehicles in the last 6 years, my wife and I are VERY DISAPPOINTED with how we were treated by the entire new car sales staff recently. Our most recent experiences in 2020 have been the worst. In April of 2020 we were in the market for purchasing a new SUV, we decided on a 2020 Pilot EX-L and were under the impression that we had gotten the vehicle. After driving it off the lot for a few days we receive a call back from Honda stating that we did not qualify for the financing terms that they originally agreed to. While we were disappointed, we returned the vehicle and ended up settling for a 2019 Passport and a much lower trim level. The 2019 Passport started showing signs of being a difficult vehicle (dash bubbled up, multiple trips to dealership to fix alignment and resurface rotors on a BRAND NEW vehicle), so while my wife was at the dealership (5 months later) she mentioned it to someone, they got the bright idea of trying to convince us to get another SUV. We TOLD them that we would not qualify for the finance terms due to finding out about the issue the last time with American Honda, they assured us they had a person there in financing that would take care of it and that we were certainly approved (I have text records to prove it). We decided to take them at their word and went to check out another SUV, this time it was a 2021 Pilot SE. We had the vehicle for nearly a week and were contacted again by Vandergriff, asking questions about the vehicle and our financing options. I was EXTREMELY UPSET and called the General Manager Yuni Chon. I left a voice message for him about how I was extremely displeased with how his staff handled the situation and even mentioned that we told them financing would not work due to an issue from nearly 13 years ago (it doesn’t appear on credit). I am still awaiting a call back from him. The entire experience has been disrespectful and extremely unprofessional considering that you had a customer that’s purchased as many vehicles from you that we have. We feel that we never meant anything to this dealership, but a sale. Obviously that’s part true, but when you trust people with your money and handling of business, you expect them to make good on their word and promises. Vandergriff Claims that they care about the customer and that they want our experiences to be good ones. This experience has been one I certainly think that in their desperation to sell cars due to the pandemic, they have forgotten how to treat customers with respect and honesty. I would not recommend that anyone purchase a vehicle with them; They do not keep their word, don’t have empathy for your situation, and flat out have very poor customer service in new car sales. You’re just a number to them. You’ll do better (hopefully) going to another dealership that treats you like a person. More
