Lies, Lies, and Rudeness We didn't enjoy our visit to this lot on 7/3/2018. It started while we were getting a bite to eat. I sent an Email to Dylan (Internet Department) that we were headed his way in a few minutes, but I got no response, Dylan had sent me a quote for a Chevy Trax LT earlier in the week. We were met at the lot, by a guy (we can't remember his name), who gave us a run down about the dealership. One thing he said that sticks in my head was "We have the lowest prices in town", (first lie) and stuck to his guns even after I showed him a Quote for a Trax LT, from Dylan and one from another Chevy dealer (in Arlington) which was over $2,500 less. Basically the other dealer added more rebates and discounts. Then he passed us off to Ashley, who was a very nice person but she was new and didn't know much and couldn't answer our questions. We originally contacted the dealership thru my work Employee Perks program. I put in my info and selected a Trax model, not understanding the limitations of the models, and nothing gave me the impression we would need to purchase the Trax Premier to get the features we wanted, which we found out once we got to the dealership. We didn't contact the dealership directly originally, the program sent them my information. We discussed what we wanted to look at and we were shown a Trax LT. We went ahead and did the test drive but when we insisted on seeing a Trax Premier, we were then told they have none on the lot, in fact Pedro (Floor Sales Manager) said there wasn't one for over 100 miles, (second lie) which was not true, after leaving the dealership, I found about 7 within 5 miles. We were also shown the Chevy Equinox, which we also asked about because we were worried the Trax would be too small. The Equinox was ok, however we did not think it compared at all to the Toyota Rav4, except for the price. We were pressured to purchase the Equinox even though we didn't love the car, and even when we really wanted to test drive a Trax Premier. They even told us, "the Trax will be about the same price anyway", that was before they told us they had none. I can't understand if you want to make a sale, why someone didn't do something about getting the car we wanted to the lot. I guess it's been some time since I've bought a new car. Prior to visiting the Chevy lot, we test drove a Toyota Rav4, a Honda CR-V, and the Nissan Rogue. We ended up at Vandergriff Chevy dealership because we wanted to give Chevy a shot at our business. So in a short, we felt lied to, pressured, and Pedro was actually dishonest and rude, we never got to see Dylan, and they treated my Employee Perks Program (Thru True Car) like it was a joke. We do not like car shopping because the treatment we got at this dealership used to be the norm, or is it still? More

However, one year later I realized I was never given the key for the bed cover lock. I stopped by and explained all of this to Gary..."No problem, we're going to take care of it for you!" Less than a month later a new lock (with keys) was professionally installed...without any hidden charges! Thanks Gary (and his team) for great customer service and for making it right! Donna More
Lies to get you in the door First I called around 9 A.M. and spoke to a Stanton Lee, gave him the stock number I was interested in told him I had financing already approved for e First I called around 9 A.M. and spoke to a Stanton Lee, gave him the stock number I was interested in told him I had financing already approved for exactly $27,000 so I could not go a penny over (truck was listed for $27,700) and if the truck was ready and as advertised I would be making the purchase if Vandergriff was willing to make a deal to which he said that shouldn’t be a problem and could he please have it ready to go as to not drag out the process so we made a 5:15 appointment. Upon my arrival I walk in and asked to speak to Stanton and was told he was in the internet department and not a salesman so someone else would be with me shortly. Welcome Ashley, she was very nice but was very unfortunate to be dropped into a deal she had no idea about. The truck that was going to be ready when I got there was actually in the wholesale lot because It was going to be too expensive to fix and certify and was being looked at by someone else while I was there. She brings over another gentleman that (I can’t remember his name) to explain to me the truck was going to be wholesaled because it had many problems that they were not going to fix. By this time I was frustrated because I feel like Stanton completely dropped the ball and I made the 45 minute trip for nothing. As I’m driving out of the lot I get a phone call from Ashley saying they had the wrong truck and the truck I was looking at I could come look at the right truck so I turned around. When I return, (after being told they had the wrong truck) we got the keys and walked out to the wholesale lot and the truck was as first described and ready for wholesale, even marked with a W/S on the windshield…still even after all that I was willing to make a deal and purchase the truck since it was going to wholesale and never going to be on your lot. In comes the same guy who’s name I could not remember with the deal sheet after TT&L he could sell it at $29K. I explained that I only had $27 and was told by Stanton Lee that “we could work with that” and he said Stanton is in the internet department and not a salesman. With no wiggle room and constant run around I decided it best to move on and take my business elsewhere. I understand the complexity of selling cars, but I felt sort of lied to. If the truck was damaged and going to wholesale why was it on the internet? If it was a wholesale truck isn’t my $27,000 on the spot better than sending a vehicle to auction hoping to get what you have in it? I don’t blame Ashley because she had no idea what Stanton told me, I figure she did the best she could do with what she knew at the time. The entire car buying experience at Vandergriff was less than satisfactory and it could have been so much easier. The next day I receive this from the general sales manager Kelly cool(obviously a form letter) "My goal as the General Sales Manager is to make sure my staff treated you with respect and focused on your questions and needs. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your visit with me, please respond to this email or give me a call. If you believe we missed you over price, payment or trade value, please contact me personally." I then did contact her through email discussing my experience.... Never heard back. More

Out of Town Bargain Hunters BEWARE! An offer was made, agreed upon in good faith, and mutually verified in a detailed written quote between myself and Vandergriff's sales representative An offer was made, agreed upon in good faith, and mutually verified in a detailed written quote between myself and Vandergriff's sales representative for the purchase of a new 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe in exchange for two trade in vehicles (a 2008 and a 2015 Tahoe, both in excellent condition). After traveling over 350 miles to Vandergriff with both trade in vehicles, our sales representative informed us that he mistakenly entered inaccurate mileage into their system by leaving off a digit, causing a variance of exactly $5,000 or approximately 12% above the previously agreed upon price. This happened after the inspection of the trade in vehicles by Vandergriff staff. No concerns or contradictions were ever communicated by Vandergriff or its representatives in any form or at any time, including during our time on site, concerning the quality of either trade in vehicle. The mileage on both trades were verified and sent to Vandergriff's sales representative on multiple occasions, well before travel, including actual pictures of both odometers as well as verbal confirmation. Upon communicating that the new terms would not work for us, Vandergriff's sales representative offered an additional $1,000 on one of our trades and an individual who identified himself as the Sales Manager (apparently not the same individual identified as such on the Vandergriff website) offered an approximate $500 on the other. The representative's alleged mistake rendered our bank's financing useless as it would have put us at least $2,500 over the maximum value of our bank's auto loan check. We left a reasonable $1,000 in the bank check limit for overages, which we offered unsuccessfully in addition to $500 we agreed to put down before we arrived as a deposit to hold the vehicle. These facts literally left us with no path forward and no choice but to decline Vandergriff’s final offer and return home at a personal loss of approximately $550 including transportation and lodging costs associated with a trip for which we had no other purpose. Other unquantifiable expenses include credit impacts from the pursuit of financing, loss of time/productivity, and emotional impacts from the somewhat traumatic experience. We have reason to feel that this, and other, highly unethical bait and switch tactics were potentially employed by Vandergriff's sales representative and Sales Manager. Their behavior and perceived low level of sincerity concerning their "mistake" certainly did nothing to reassure us to the contrary. Our main objective in writing this complaint is to inform other potential buyers, especially remote buyers who are naturally at higher risk, so they are aware of Vandergriff's actions in our case and may attempt to avoid the same unfortunate outcome during their experience.
