Larry spent a long time, was very patient, and highly informed about the MDX. We test drove it and it really is an amazing vehicle with so many attributes. I wanted to recommend Larry and Vandergriff Acura for anyone looking for a vehicle in their market. You will be treated very well. More

It was my best "new car" experience. The service was friendly and I felt comfortable with no "high pressure" throughout the experience. David was very professional and took time to explain service was friendly and I felt comfortable with no "high pressure" throughout the experience. David was very professional and took time to explain the process, prepare the vehicle, and review the features of the vehicle. Kevin Jackson continued to communicate with me throughout the process, checking in to make sure that I was comfortable and that we could make a deal that would be beneficial to both of us. I will highly recommend this dealership to everyone! Thank you! More
I am active duty military and purchased a vehicle with Vandergriff Acura in Arlington, TX, while visiting family in April 2011. As part of the purchase we requested a DVD player to be installed into the Vandergriff Acura in Arlington, TX, while visiting family in April 2011. As part of the purchase we requested a DVD player to be installed into the new vehicle we were purchasing. We pointed to the DVD player that was pre-installed into other MDX vehicles and expected that the product was ACURA brand and the service would be performed at the dealer, both were assumptions I would later regret, we paid an additional $900.00 for this service. The day I came to pick up the vehicle, the DVD player installed was not Acura brand and I would find out later that it was not installed by the dealership, but a third party. At that point I did not complain because I was under a time crunch and put the blame on myself for not clarifying what I expected from the dealership. On March 22, 2013 with 35,597 miles on the odometer, I took in my vehicle to my local Acura dealership because there were some electrical problems with the vehicle. The mirror actuators were replaced and after that I was informed that the after market wiring is tied into the multi-plex unit and that this was a problem because items wired into this unit can cause problems in the electrical distribution of this vehicle. They recommended that I take the car and have the DVD player rewired in a manner so that the wiring isn't connected to the multi-plex unit. They also stated that this voided my warranty and that I would have to pay for any additional service on my vehicle for this issue. I contacted Vandergriff Acura on this issue, because I thought that since they had installed the DVD player they could assist me in getting it rewired. The Service Department General Manager told me that his wifes' car was wired the same way and he didn't have any issues with it. He said the only way they could help me was to bring the car to his dealership, that 1,695 miles or a 25 hour drive, to receive service on my vehicle, this seemed very unreasonable to me. The GM gave the impression that he didn't trust the other dealers review of my vehicle and essentially wouldn't help me out. I took my local dealerships recommendation and had a third party rewire the DVD player to the fuse box. During the rewire, the third-party showed me that the place where the wire had been soldered in was excessively burned, with charring of wires around the wire where it was connected. They described it as pretty bad work. Fortunately, as my local dealer had previously told me, this was the best case scenario in which after the rewiring of the unit my electrical problem would go away. Worst case would be that some sort of damage would be caused to other parts from the wiring, in which I would've been liable for because the DVD player install would've voided warranty coverage for those parts. So, I got lucky and my only costs were the cost to the third party that rewired the DVD player for me. More
Let me state clearly that this review is only of the Service department. A few instances come to mind as I rate this dealership... 1. "Checking" the engine and cabin air filter is a part of the "A1 Service department. A few instances come to mind as I rate this dealership... 1. "Checking" the engine and cabin air filter is a part of the "A12" (oil change) maintenance. These filters are very easy to replace and Vandergriff seems to enjoy trying to get this easy money. I once changed the engine air filter and cabin air filter myself about one week before taking it in for an oil change service. When I took it in for service, the tech tells me I needed new filters. I called their bluff and asked them to show me both filters and that they could replace them if they were dirty. They brought just the cabin filter and there was a huge grease smudge on it. To be sure that's what they were calling "dirty," I asked them where it's dirty, and they pointed to the grease. I'm almost certain they put this there as a result of being called out. I'll put it this way...there definitely wasn't a smudge on it when I installed it a week earlier and a cabin filtration system doesn't filter axle grease... During the same instance, as I drove home, there was an abnormally loud humming noise coming from under the hood. After I got home, I popped the hood open and opened the engine filter compartment. The gasket/seal that comes on non-OEM engine filters had been removed. The humming was a result of the lack of proper seal. This seal was on there when I installed it. When I called and asked, the technician said that Acura parts do not have a detachable seal and wouldn't even agree to saying that the seal could have accidentally come off during their "inspection." 2. One instance, I got an oil change here and drove home. A few hours later as I was backing out of my driveway I noticed a huge (approximately 5-inch diameter) oil spot. I called them immediately and asked them to tow my car in as there was a leak. They sent a tech out to my house the next day and, as it turns out, they had failed to clean the bottom of the car and the oil had collected and leaked. I'm glad it was just a small issue...but it ruined my driveway (Naturally, I had just had the driveway poured a month before this happened.) They actually handled this situation as well as they could have...the problem is that wiping leaked oil from the undercarriage is a routine thing any maintenance person does, especially if the car is already up on a hoist. If they had just done this initially, this wouldn't have happened. More
I visited this dealership around 10:30 am to inquire about purchasing a used Acura. My orginal sales associate had to leave for a family emergency so I was introduced to a different sales associate, alo about purchasing a used Acura. My orginal sales associate had to leave for a family emergency so I was introduced to a different sales associate, along with two additional people from other departments ( including Keith Poole). I was informed that I didn't qualify for a purchase due to my credit score, but was offered a lease option for a new vehicle. I decided to except the offer, but I did explain that I was hesitant because I didn't come for a lease and had never had one. Keith was asked to join the sale to help convince me of how great and much better the lease option was for me rather than a purchase. After waiting over an hour thinking I was getting ready to go over paper work and get my car, I was told that I didn't qualify for a new car either. I was offered a used car to lease, but the car nor the paper work still wasn't ready to go. I hadn't eaten yet that day, and by then it was 3 pm and I had to pick my child up from school. I was given a loaner car and told to come back the next day to pick up my actual car and sign paper work the next day. But not without them taking my $1500 down payment and keeping my 2009 Honda Civic trade-in of course. I discussed my agreement with my family after I got home and they told me to look into speaking with a different Acura dealer because they thought I could get a better deal, becasue of their experice they had with them. I called and decided to go to this other dealer ship the same day. I was offered to purchase a better car, they bought my trade in for $1000 more than Vandergriff offered, and they offered a 8.9% interest rate - against Vandergriff's 14.9%. This all happen within 3 hrs and I signed on the dotted line. The next day I returned the loaner to Vandergriff and discussed my decision with my orginal sales associate. He did try to counter offer with lower lease payment offer and so did the finace guy but I explained that I had made my decision and didn't really want to prolong purchasing a car. I just needed my $1500 check and Honda Civic. After waiting for about 45 min, Keith Poole proceeded to tell me, as I was cleaning out my old car and placing things in my new car, that my check had been deposited the night before and wasn't avaliable. He had to call a special dept tomorrow and let them know to cut me a check, but he didn't know how long it would take. He didn't say he would even call when it was ready, I asked him if I needed to call him. He just said "maybe tomorrow, but we'll let you know". He also stated " my assciates worked on your deal all night with your bad credit just for you to go down the street for $50-60 off". I tried to explain to him that this wasn't what happend, he cut me off and kept yelling at me while my child was standing there. I was so insulted and embarrassed that he was compelled to act like this. Every customer has the right to shop around for the best offer, and I just lucked up and got the best deal before I signed any paper work. For him to yell about how bad my credit was and how they worked all day and night on it was crazy. It couldn't have been to bad since another dealer was able to give me lower payments and better car in 3 hrs total, so I guess the joke is on him and his staff. He just left a horrible taste in my mouth. I actually was satisfied with the level of service I recieved from Vandergriff prevously until he decided to comfront me about my final decision. RUDE! I will never referr anyone there and if someone mentions purchasing an Acura, I will definitely tell them about my experience and recommend they not step foot into this dealership! By the way, I am still getting the run around about my check and had to end up calling my bank to cancel the check. HORRIBLE! More
Had a wonderful experience with this dealership. Walked in with little or no expectations due to my own circumstances (upside-down in my trade, low credit score, etc) and walked out with the exact vehicle in with little or no expectations due to my own circumstances (upside-down in my trade, low credit score, etc) and walked out with the exact vehicle I wanted. It took a while, but purchasing a vehicle usually does, so that wasn't an issue. I've purchased from several different dealerships and none has impressed me like the staff at Vandergriff. They worked very diligently to finish my transaction. If you think there's no chance you can buy the car you want...just give them a shot...they will surprise you. Make it your first stop when you're car shopping. Even if it isn't an Acura you're looking for, they have a huge selection of pre-owned vehicles. More
I purchase a used car from Vandergriff in November. 3 weeks later my low tire light comes on and I am noticing a noise coming from the passenger side wheel area. I take the vehicle to the dealership and weeks later my low tire light comes on and I am noticing a noise coming from the passenger side wheel area. I take the vehicle to the dealership and I am told the front two tires are bad and need to be replaced due to the alignment being out on the car. I was also told the noise was a damaged fender well and it needed to be replaced. At witch point I was told none of these repairs were covered under the extended warranty. I asked if the alignment is tested during there vaunted 77 point inspection and I can not get a straight answer. The alignment was obviously bad when I purchased the car in order for the tires to be completely bald on the inside of the tire, they would take no responsibility for it and had nothing further to say to me on the matter. So I have them put my car back the way it was, they charge me a $60 fee and I take it to an independent. The noise was not caused by a fender well, it was caused by something wrong in the suspension, that WAS covered under the extended warranty, and also could have been the reason for the alignment issues. I still had to buy 2 new tires but the independant fixed the issue and realigned the frontend (covered by the warranty). After reading several reviews, almost none of the reviews for used car sales or service are good ones. I would recommend never buying a used car from this dealership. More
