This place wasted so much of our time. 2 days worth, to be exact. It was the classic bait and switch. Initially we knew exactly which car we wanted and we called multiple dealerships to see if they had the be exact. It was the classic bait and switch. Initially we knew exactly which car we wanted and we called multiple dealerships to see if they had the vehicle in stock before we decided to drive over an hour to get there. Vandergriff Acura of Arlington promised they had the vehicle we liked that we had seen online but we needed to come in that day to get the best price. We came in and of course, they didn’t have the vehicle they had guaranteed us. The salesman was nice and showed us some comparable vehicles. We were looking for a used Acura MDX Advance or at minimum the MDX with Technology package. We were shown an MDX that we really liked and were told it was the Tech package. My husband pointed out that there was no navigation and asked if they had accidentally pulled the base model for us to test drive. The sales person assured us it was the Tech package and he said he would figure out what was going on with the navigation. This was at 4pm. The fininace manager talked numbers with us and gave us some options. He kept telling us what a great deal we were getting for the MDX Tech package and how much we would enjoy the features. We put 20k down on the vehicle and moved on to the financing department. We worked with a guy in finance for another couple of hours while they were washing, cleaning and preparing our car for us. The finance department did their thing, trying to get us to agree for paying a ridiculous amount of money for an extended warranty. We negotiated and paid $1500 for an additional warranty. The finance department couldn’t get their computer to work so we were stalled even longer but we were okay with it since we were getting “such a great deal” on this car. At 9pm we are finally finished, the dealership was closing and we go out to pick up our new car but we get inside the car and check for the navigation, it isn’t there. We told our salesperson again that the navigation was not working. He asked his manager and everyone then realized it was the MDX base model. I thought we were getting a good deal on the Tech ok age and all along, it was the base model. They all apologized for the mistake and told us to take the car home and come back Monday for them to work it out. They assured us they would make it right. We came back on Monday with the goal of leaving with an Acura Advance. This now makes the second day my husband and I have had to miss time at work to try and purchase a vehicle. We were promised differing things from the salesperson, the finance department and the manager. No one was on the same page. The manager brought the new paperwork to me for the Acura MDX Advance we were purchasing and I noticed it showed $0.00 under “options” (where the warranty should show up). I asked him if I would get the same warranty I had agreed to purchase when I was there Saturday and he said yes. He said he couldn’t take more off the sticker price but he would help us on other ways to make our out the door price better. So I verified and asked “you’re taking the extended warranty off my price but giving me the same deal we agreed to Saturday?” He said “yes, this is the bottom dollar price including your warranty.” After I was clear that we were getting the $1500 taken off our bottom dollar amount, we finally agreed on the price and we moved to the finance department. There, the financing guy, who was very helpful and polite, told us that he wasn’t told that the extended warranty would be included in our bottom dollar price so he needed to double check with the manager. The manager came in again and told us that he didn’t agree to that, he didn’t know what warranty we had purchased on Saturday and he couldn’t lose more money by including the $1500 extended warranty. He said he didn’t remember telling us that he would include the warranty and that we misunderstood. I reminded him that I had asked for clarity multiple times and he said that there had been a misunderstanding. We took our $20k check back and will never be returning to this dealership. No one in this place has any idea what is going on, communication among staff is terrible and they have no respect for anyone else’s time. We will be finding our Acura MDX Advance anywhere but here. They not only lost my husband’s business, but I had planned on buying a new car for myself in 2021 and they lost that potential business as well. I tried reaching the manager of this dealership with no response and he still has not returned my voice message. More
These people will try to sell you a broken car. I test drove a car that very obviously had been heavily abused by the previous owner and needed thousands of dollars in repairs. They tried telling me that drove a car that very obviously had been heavily abused by the previous owner and needed thousands of dollars in repairs. They tried telling me that the car was fine and all my complaints were normal. Ended up going to another dealership and test driving the exact same car and it had none of the issues they were claiming were "normal". More

Even Exceptional Sales Service by “Travis” Nguyen” and Vandergriff Acura. Our Acura lease was up in May and we wanted to save money by leasing ASAP. Even with “Virus” limitations, Travis brought the exact 2020 RDX Tech package SUV to our home in Dallas for a test drive. We fell in love with the new 2020 RDX . Travis and the Vandergriff Team presented a great deal as legacy Acura customers and within hours, Travis returned to our home to swap out our SUVs (on the same day!). Thanks Travis and Vandergriff Team!! More

Bad Experience Purchased 2014 Acura RDX out of state. Car was shipped to AZ and we couldn't believe the car arrived with damage never disclosed. Dealership refused t Purchased 2014 Acura RDX out of state. Car was shipped to AZ and we couldn't believe the car arrived with damage never disclosed. Dealership refused to assist with return shipment or repair of damages. The next disappointment when the car arrived was that the odometer was off by 200 miles! The dealership did not bother to walk outside to get the actual odometer reading before filling out the odometer paperwork. The dealership explanation was they had to drive to complete the 177-point inspection. A copy of the 177-point inspection was promised and has not yet been provided. More

I feel so ridiculous for buying a car that I did not have checked by an outside mechanic. I just heard such good things about vandergriff that I let their talk of 72 point inspections and top of the line mec checked by an outside mechanic. I just heard such good things about vandergriff that I let their talk of 72 point inspections and top of the line mechanics sway me. We bought a 2013 Sequoia and when we went to pick it up, the interior was still extremely dirty and when I got it home and tried to put my stroller in the car a back pannel fell of the back of the seat. I was pretty annoyed since they told me they detailed it already and would detail it more before we picked it up. I took it to my mechanic (service first automotive) before even going home because something didn't seem right while driving it home, there was a noise when you turned the car, something we hadn't heard on our initial test drive because it was raining outside. They found a leak in the rack and pinion and in the oil cooler. They told me vandergriff was a really good dealership and if they didn't catch this before they were pretty honorable and should have no problem fixing it. So I took it back (same day) and showed Mucio the pictures my mechanic took of the leaks and explained to him that I was upset because they claimed to do this great over the top inspection but all you would have to do to see the leaks is put it on the rise. He tried to tell me that with a car with over 100,000miles on it is bound to have issues. Um, I just bought a car from you that you claimed to have done a great inspection on and you should have seen this leak and at the very least disclosed it to us as something we might need to repair in the near future. But of course then I might not of have bought the car and that is the bottom line right? Well I feel fooled for sure. They took it and looked at it again and said it was just over spray and the mechanic didn't clean up his mess. So I had my mechanic call and talk to them(service first has been the best mechanic shop experience I have ever had) to give me the ok to pick up the car. They called me back and said maybe that was true for the oil cooler and that we can see in a couple weeks if its still leaking but that the rack and pinion is definitely leaking and they should fix it. So I call Mucio back and he said that the leak was only about 40% and that it isn't a failing part so they won't fix it. I explained that if it is leaking, it is failing and he danced around some words and I told him I needed a straight forward answer and he said he would talk to his general manager and get back to me and then hung up on me. 24 hrs later I had to contact him again to get answers on my car. he still had no answer for me. So I told him I was done, at this point it had been 5 days since I bought my car and I needed answer or I was just going to come pick up my car and leave this review. The next day he sent me a text that said the GM said your car is in good condition and nothing is leaking so you can come pick it up. So I did and I drove it back to my mechanic. They said the oil cooler wont be able to tell so soon but the rack and pinion was definitely still leaking and they were shocked that they didn't fix it for us. So I am just curious what that service charge they make you pay for covers? Because I picked up a dirty car with a part that was jimmy rigged into place and at least one leak possibly two. I feel extremely ripped off. Especially since they price advertised was not the true price. The options they tack on are not actually options and they didn't even seem to fix the things that were in the options. For instance, they claimed to redo the tinted windows, but they are all scratched and chipped. Again, stupid me for trusting them. More
unethical dealership I bought a vehicle from this dealership on March, 03 2020. I saw the vehicle on car-gurus for the price of ( 17,988 ) on March , 02 2020 immediately I I bought a vehicle from this dealership on March, 03 2020. I saw the vehicle on car-gurus for the price of ( 17,988 ) on March , 02 2020 immediately I liked it and was very interested so I got in touch with one of the sales person there. I wanted to put a deposit on the car because I live in Oklahoma and was 3 hours away from the dealership. But I was told I could not put a deposit down on the vehicle without pulling my credit, I did not feel comfortable giving my social security number and having my credit card pulled over the phone when I am 3 hours away. I let the sales person know around afternoon on march 02, 2020 I will get back to him about the car because I had to go make arrangements with my father to make the 3 hour trip for the car... I get my arrangements done with my job, school and my father then I contacted the sales person late at night that I wanted to come buy the car. At the same time I looked over car-gurus again the same day and the price went from (17,988) to (18,997) that is a 1000 dollar difference over a 12 hour difference. I texted the sales person the next morning again on march, 03 2020 letting him know I want to come today and buy the car but before I headed out I let him know about the price difference of a 1000 dollars and he said "ill help you with the price don't worry" and "I'll honor the price". I have screenshots of our exchanged messages over the phone. Once he let me know through text that he will honor the price of (17,988), I let him know that once my classes are done my father and I will be on our way to the dealership for the car. I even went out of my way skipped my classes to get to the dealership early, after traffic and everything it took us 4 hours to get to the dealership. Once we got there we were greeted with good hospitality and they were friendly. Then we test drove it, my father and I liked the car and decided we will sit down and do the numbers with the sales person to see what will be our final price for the car is with the doc fee etc... We started to negotiate, he let me know he can not honor the price of 17,988 because it went through the "shop" and there is a charge of 1400 because of the "shop" he told me they did some work added nitrogen into the tires but I did not ask for that I wanted the car as is. He gave me the price of 18,550 and this was their finally offer either I take it or leave empty handed and drive three hours back home. I was put in a really bad spot, my father went out of his way to come with me to co sign and I could not do anything about it. The sales person and his manager knew I could not do anything but take the price so I agreed to it. I would have never came to the dealership if I had known they would not sell the car at the price I saw it at of 17,988 even though they changed the price I made it clear that I would only come if it was for the price of 17,988 and he said he would honor it but he did not I have messages of him saying they will honor the price. I ended up paying more then I expected. Front of the house final price was 20350 including (tag, title and registration) without gap and with gap it is 21000. Finance we went to finance after agreeing to get the car for 20350 and include gap which makes the final price 21000. In finance, I told the gentleman I wanted to bank with chase (JPMCB Auto) before we started he kind of just ignored it and said he will chose one. At this point it was getting really late and my father and I were tired so we wanted to get it over with and head home. Once we were in finance, they were trying to sell us a warranty but we declined it then we backed out of GAP too so we though our final price before finance would be 20350 then it went up to 20440 another 90 dollars added it. Again, they put us in a bad spot we felt like we could not say anything, they just kept making us sign papers. He pulled my fathers credit and I, My father's credit was 679 I believe its not the best but its not bad. without letting my father and I know our credit was pulled through five different places (Vandergriff, Fifth Third, COAF, Ally Financi and chase ( JPMCB Auto). I originally noted to him that I wanted to bank with chase yet he ignored it but he pulled our credit through them and gave us Ally Financial. I did not even know who I was banking with until today, I left the finance office without him telling me "hey you will be financing the car through this Ally Financial" again they just wanted me to sign the papers and get out. He gave us a rate of 7.34% through Ally Financial which charged us 3267.07 on top of 20440. In conclusion, we were mistreated toward the end, they were unethical about the price. This dealership is a part of Berkshire Hathaway automotive which is owned by Warren Buffet, I know their standards should be better. Warren Buffet is a humble/down-to-earth man as many of us know him and he would never do this to another person just so he could get an extra 1000 dollar in his pocket. More
