I bought a 2021 Subaru Forester from Van Subaru in June 2021. The buying experience was okay, but nothing special. I have since had my Forester serviced at this dealer -- until now. I made an online appointment recently for an oil change and tire rotation. The day before the appointment, I got a call from Van saying that my appointment was being cancelled. I asked why and learned that it was because I had the temerity to give them a bad review after my previous service! It is true that I received a request from Subaru to review the service I received from Van after my previous visit. Although I do not normally respond to survey requests, I decided to give a review in this instance because the service was bad and, therefore, my review was bad. In the previous visit, I was charged for 6 quarts of oil (which had also happened in an earlier visit, but I did not notice at the time). I pointed out that the manual lists the oil capacity as 4.4 US quarts. The service manager said he didn't think that was right, so I offered to retrieve the manual and show him. He said he would just check with the mechanic. He called back to the service bay and looked rather sheepish when told they had, in fact, put in 4.4 quarts. The service manager then refunded the cost of one quart of oil -- although that still left a charge for 5 quarts which was more than I received. In my review to Subaru, I explained about the overcharge for oil and complained that I also had to pay a "shop charge" was $20 which more than offset the $15 coupon I had received in the mail from Subaru and used. When Van called to cancel my most recent appointment, I was told I would have to find someone else to service my Forester. I replied that I would do so and never buy or service a car with them again. I went to a local mechanic who did a fine job and didn't add a shop charge. More

Then another person comes over and says I have to pay an additional $598 for an OPTIONAL service they had already done to the car. The other agreement was no where in sight. The tires were bald on the outside but they would only replace if I paid an additional $800. There was only a fourth of a tank of gas when I picked it up. This dealership seems to care more about the money than the customer. They were condescending when I mentioned how much the price was over the value of the car. I liked the salesperson but he was the only one. This dealership is the true representation of slimy and shady car dealers! More
The service department is a fraud buyer beware of unneeded service sold. My friend that just lost her husband brought her car here for service. They sold her a front and rear diff service for $247. Her car has 16k on miles and service is not due until 30k on miles. I contacted Service department to question this service and they said it was dirty. First off all diff fluid is dirty at 16k. It's they velocity that matters. If there is anything abnormal then something must be wrong with the diff in that case it should be covered under factory warranty. The service manager said he would give store credit. He never followed through because it's not going to her email. We'll she doesn't want this company to have her email. I get it but he needs to refund her credit card then. We will be filing a Attorney General Complaint on this company along with contacting Subaru so they know Van's service practices. More

Good experience overall. Accommodating on most things. Some extras we bought we had to wait for and when they came in service was great.
