I complained that the oil sensor was not working and I was told that it needed an oil change. I took the car to Glendale to diagnose and they replaced the defective oil sensor and said that probably cause was told that it needed an oil change. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! ! I spent about 10 minutes with James solely discussing for them to ONLY do a SOFT inquiry, after they requested it. I repeated probably like 10 times ! I spent about 10 minutes with James solely discussing for them to ONLY do a SOFT inquiry, after they requested it. I repeated probably like 10 times I do NOT want them to do a Hard Inquiry. For those who don't know, soft inquiries do not appear on your credit report, while hard inquiries do and can cause your credit score to go down. I asked James if he is SURE they are not going to do a Hard Inquiry and that it would ONLY be a soft inquiry and that it wouldn't go on my credit report. James reassured me each time that it was only 'INTERNAL' and that they wouldn't be sending it to the banks. That it was only a soft inquiry - that it was NOT a hard inquiry. He also had stated that banks were closed at 9 so they wouldn't be able to check for financing that day. I get home half an hour later to see that not only do I have 1 hard inquiry, but I have 5!!! I have been working on my credit for 6 months due to my financing bank for my first dealership purchased car closing the gap insurance account that I was paying for instead of claiming the money and then misreporting that I owed them that money when they should have collected it from my GAP insurance. I hired a credit repair company that successfully removed some hard inquiries that shouldn't have been there; including, a prior dealership 2 months prior that did a Hard Inquiry without my consent. But they only did 1. Alfa Romeo in Van Nuys did 5!! Moreover, they did 2 from the same bank and 1 from a bank that I had already done a pre-qualification for (soft inquiry) and I was denied. So there was no sense in them doing a hard inquiry from that bank when I was denied with a soft inquiry! Plus I had already gotten pre-approved (soft inquiry) from a partner bank of that same bank prior to coming in. Before coming in I only had 2 hard inquiries on my Experian account. Now I have 7!! I'm dealing with legal issues regarding my 3 small kids and haven't seen my daughter since last February in person when the father started using Covid as an excuse to not bring her. He continues violating prior set court orders that he signed for. Buying an adequate car and renting a better place to live are the two most important steps I've been working on achieving for months to be extremely well prepared in order to go to court and get custody of all my kids back. They are suffering and even being abused at the moment. I'm sure my daughter wonders every day where I am as she has not seen me or been able to talk to me for 17 months! I've accomplished fixing some of the things on my credit report in order to be approved for a car and to rent a place to live. And now Alfa Romeo is making me backtrack and delaying me even further from seeing my daughter and being with my kids! I can't believe the immense betrayal! For James to smile in my face and just lie to me like that. As if I haven't already had enough of that betrayal these past few years in order to get to where I am that my own daughter doesn't get to see her mom for such a long time. I am so upset that I'm crying. They are ruining any future potential in me purchasing the car that fits my needs and me accomplishing my goals. I intended on finally buying the car this week after all my hard work and months of waiting. Now let's see what I'm going to have to do. There is NO way I'm going to wait another 30 days or more to get these hard inquiries removed and another 30 days to buy a car. There is NO WAY I'm going to delay my daughter from seeing me for an additional 30 days on top of the legal procedures we're going to have to go through. I DID NOT WORK THIS HARD FOR MY KIDS AND GET THIS FAR JUST TO HAVE SELFISH & UNCARING EMPLOYEES AT A DEALERSHIP WITH A MAJOR LACK OF EMPATHY AND NO REGARD FOR OTHER HUMAN BEINGS TO RUIN IT FOR US! In my 35 years, this is THE FIRST EVER THAT IM WRITING A BAD REVIEW! I've already left Alfa Romeo in Van Nuys a voice message to REMOVE the Hard inquiries from my credit report ASAP!! I WILL be going into their office tomorrow! ALFA ROMEO, JAMES, AND THE FINANCING GUY YOU SPOKE TO, IN CASE YOU DIDNT HEAR MY VOICEMAIL I AM TELLING YOU NOW. REMOVE THOSE HARD INQUIRIES THAT I DID NOT CONSENT TO ASAP!!! IT IS NOT OKAY TO LIE, BETRAY, AND CAUSE FURTHER HARDSHIP TO YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT, PLUS HARM THE LIVES OF INNOCENT CHILDREN! The staff we worked with made the experience very positive. Eshel and Derrick were both very helpful. Derrick delivered our Fiat500e to our house and answered my questions about the car.
