Lack of ability to put customer needs first! Terrible Sales Experience Prior to my visit with the salesperson, I found a vehicle having all options I was interested in. Van Horn did not have sa Terrible Sales Experience Prior to my visit with the salesperson, I found a vehicle having all options I was interested in. Van Horn did not have same vehicle with same options on their lot. Ahead of time I spoke to a Business Development representative over the phone and explained I’m interested in a specific vehicle on another dealer’s lot. This representative said they do dealer trades all the time. He then setup an appt to meet a salesperson. I arrived and was intro ducted to the salesperson. He stated, “So you interested in some other vehicle on a lot from different dealers?”. My reply “Yup”. I provided him with information so he could look the vehicle on the other dealer’s website. I made it clear that this the vehicle has all options I want. The salesperson made statements that the vehicle may not be on the other dealer’s lot. His justification for this assumption was “These images are Computer Generated and Factory Photos so vehicle may not be available or in transit”. We all know a photo has nothing to do with whether a vehicle is on a lot or not! It became very clear quick that that this Van Horn salesperson was trying to divert my interest (my needs) to some other vehicle. Not once in the conversation did this salesperson attempt to confirm the specifics / must have criteria. The salesperson’s plan did not work out well for him nor Van Horn Ford. 3 Hours later I completed a deal with another close by dealer on same exact vehicle with out getting into a discussion about “Computer Generated images”. Hopefully, Van Horn Ford will help educate their sales teams on Customer Centric Selling principles. More

I have been speaking with the Vanhorn staff for the last 2 weeks about this 2016 Yukon. Vanhorn has kept myself in the loop on the maintenance and repairs they performed on the vehicle.
