I looked at a couple trucks and finally decided on the Ford. Stopped by Van Horn Ford because of location. First contact was fine, but typical of what you would expect from a car dealership. The sales person was new and we took that into consideration. Since she was new she worked closely with a older sales manager. We test drove the car and they evaluated our used car. All was fairly typical until discussing pricing. The sales manager severally under appraised our trade in. He pushed extra options to get price higher, which was expected, but the real kicker to this whole process was the pricing of the new vehicle. They took the list price of the car, ADDED $2000 because of the "auto strike" that was going on, then he graciously discounted the final price by $2000 and tried to tell us what a great deal we were getting. We walked out shortly after that. I will not deal with someone who thinks we are idiots. We went to another Ford dealer who was very happy to work with us. gave us a fair price both on our trade in and on the new vehicle. Oh ya, the final comment from the Van Horn sales manager was, and I quote: "We are here to sell cars, not just to let people test drive them". There are good dealers and then some not so good. More
