Pricing Presented Online and By Employee Was Not Accurate I had a poor experience with Vanhorn of Newhall. I am shopping for a new Ford Ranger for my wife and found this dealership on the internet via CarGur I had a poor experience with Vanhorn of Newhall. I am shopping for a new Ford Ranger for my wife and found this dealership on the internet via CarGurus. The price that I saw was good and the dealership ratings and verbatim were good. I called in and talked to Brandon Berry. I verified that the vehicle was still available and asked what rebates were included in the pricing to make sure that I would qualify. I explained to Brandon that I was also shopping another dealership but that I would be back in contact with my decision. I then text messaged him to ask about fees and any other charges for the transaction. He explained them to me. After about 2 hours I called him back and let him know that I had done my shopping and was ready to purchase. I asked and he stated that the vehicle was still available. As I am 3 hours away I asked for a purchase agreement to be sent to my email. I did not want to drive 3 hours and have any surprise in the numbers. Brandon called back and spoke with my wife (I was driving and we have a hands free law in MN). He stated the pricing was actually $9000 more and that he had sent the numbers to my email. In the email he apologized for the “mishap”. This is exactly why car dealerships get a bad reputation as being dishonest. A price is posted online and the verbiage presented is “NO Hooks, No Gimmicks, Everyone Qualifies! Straight Forward Pricing!” When a customer calls in to verify they are told that yes it is correct and that they qualify. Then when it is time to close the deal the numbers are much different. I emailed Brandon back and explained to him how I felt. I gave him and the dealership a chance to make it right. I received an email back from Sales Manager Nate Walt stating that he was not going to honor the pricing that was listed online in multiple places (including the dealership website) and was also confirmed by Brandon. I am very disappointed and sure glad that I did not make a 3 hour drive to the dealership. I would not recommend this dealer and would encourage anyone looking to purchase here to look elsewhere. More
