The staff and invintory at Van Horn was a perfect fit I made an error while doing an online vehicle search. I was looking for a new, low optioned 2015 Jeep Renegade 4x4, so I called Van Horn about one that (I thought was 4x4) they had in inventory. After speaking with Tiffany I soon realized that the low priced vehicle of interest was only 2wd.. I apologized and told her that I made a mistake in my search (filter) and thanked her for her time. We were starting to get snow and my wife wanted to park her '69 Valiant to avoid exposing it to road salt, so we hoping to be in a new vehicle that weekend. Two days before Thanksgiving Kevin Kester called my wife to let us know that they had found us a couple different 1.4 liter manual trans. Renegades. One of these two was a heavily optioned Renegade in a handsome sand color which really caught our attention. These extra options however added a few thousand dollars more to the price than we were looking to spend, so we decided to pass. Both Kevin and Tiffany exceeded our expectations in customer service so we wanted to give them our business, but I needed to make a dollars and cents decision. With our present situation I could not justify spending money on creature comforts like heated seats, heated steering wheel, electric/removable glass top etcetera even though the heated seats were on my wife's automotive wish list. We planned to go to a dealer down the road that Saturday and buy a nice plain Jeep Renegade that better fit our budget.....but who likes to compromise? The joy of buying this new practical car was dampened knowing that Van Horn had this really sweet ride sitting on their lot. This possible option was nagging at me, so I decided to call Van Horn back and let them know that we were coming down. So on Black Friday my wife and I drove down to Plymouth Wisconsin with a nothing to lose but our time attitude. We met with Kevin and explained to him that we were interested in the Jeep that he emailed us photos of.. I said if they could find a way to finance us at half the rate as the "dealer down the road" we could justify spending a bit more for our "perfect" Renegade. In the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee (which also exceeded expectation) and ogle the Challenger in the showroom with the 707 hp. Hellcat engine, the finance department came through for us. It was already dark outside and everyone there had a long day, but Michael Foti in finance still found the time to patiently answer our questions and explore different options. Since they took the time to find us a lender that was half of the overall cost we were prepared to spend we were able to justify spending that savings on both creature comforts and additional warranties. I made a mistake in calling Van Horn originally, but it really feels good to know I did not make a mistake by taking the time to give them a chance. Thanks Tiffany, Kevin and Mike we will be seeing you again. Nathan and Angie More
Classic Bait and Switch Do not go here. Classic bait and switch place with all the gimmicks. They have a "deal maker" on their website where you can "make your deal" before Do not go here. Classic bait and switch place with all the gimmicks. They have a "deal maker" on their website where you can "make your deal" before showing up. We did it and had our offer "accepted". Usually when one party accepts the offer that is the legal binding agreement for a transaction. I called to verify this was officially accepted before driving 2 hours to the dealership. I also asked about the used vehicle to make sure there was nothing wrong with it before I left. They said yes and no nothing was wrong with the vehicle so off I went. When I got there the first thing I noticed was the vehicle on the test drive kept trying to veer off the road. Then, upon telling them that get told it was wrecked and they bought it at an auction that way and had their body shop fix it. They "certified" the vehicle but yet had not sent it through the mechanic to see it needed an alignment. Cracks are forming on the trust front. Following this is their offer... which is nothing like the offer they accepted. They shaved $2100 off my trade in, removed the $250 off the internet price, added a $800 protection package (your scotch guarding leather? really?), and added 1% to the approved credit APR. All in all they jacked up the price about $3500 to a vehicle that was not in the condition they promised it was in. Then, they acted shocked when we got up and walked out. Like I said... classic bait and switch. More

I worked with Gabe who seems like a nice enough guy and he took a lot of time even after hours to work with me. However, he knew I was over 3 hours away so I needed to know the honest description up front. I asked about the shape of the body/paint. He mentioned 2-3 defects; common stuff like paint chip on the bumper and door dings. I was OK with this as it is a used car. Upon arriving and seeing the car it was great, except for one thing...the paint in the front bumper, hood, front fenders and somewhat on the front doors was all dinged up by tiny chips of paint missing. The thing looked like it had gravel thrown at it in a wind tunnel or something. I noticed it right away, not sure if Gabe saw this or not but I picked up on it right away. I wouldn't hesitate to check out their cars if I lived close by, but I wouldn't drive over 3 hours again to check one at here. They did offer to take an additional $500 off for the defects and detail the car, but it wasn't enough for me to bite. Again, they are right, for the right price the defects can be over looked, but I should have been made aware of them before driving that far. More
