My husband and I (along with our 2 month old) drove up from Illinois to purchase 2 vehicles from Van Horn. Originally, we were very pleased with everybody and everything. When we got back to Illinois an from Illinois to purchase 2 vehicles from Van Horn. Originally, we were very pleased with everybody and everything. When we got back to Illinois and tried to get Illinois liscence plates, we discovered that Van Horn forgot, or neglected to mention that WE would be responsible for paying tax on both new vehicles. This tax amounts to about $2,000. This amount should have been figured into our loan so a check could have been cut to pay the differece. Now, my husband and I have to come up with $2000 out-of-pocket for their mistake. Also, the way management handeled the situation was unacceptable. Never in my life have I ever delt with such inconsiderate people. I am outraged with this situation, Van Horn, and their management. I am very impressed with the customer service that I received at Van Horn Dodge. I have bought many cars and trucks before in my life, but never before have I walked in and done it all in less than five received at Van Horn Dodge. My sales man, Troy Lucas was the most, straight forward and honest guy I have every had a chance to meet and work with in my life. I would recommend everyone I know and everyone out there to go see Troy Lucas if you are ever looking for a new or used vehicle because he will get you the best deal he possibly can, cause he did for me. Van Horn had a good price on the vehicle, which we reasearched online, howvere our first call to the dealership (we spoke to Christian), to verify availiability of the vehicle (before we drove 47 mile reasearched online, howvere our first call to the dealership (we spoke to Christian), to verify availiability of the vehicle (before we drove 47 miles) was NOT returned. We went anyway, a week later. It took a while for soemone to help us (Kelly) she was helpful but not enthusiastic--then she sent Christian to us (? since he had the initial phone contact?) anyway he was helpful in finding a vehicle--making up for the luke warm beginning. We decided to purchase the vehicle and they began the financing process. The financing guy gave us their worst deal first....and when we trhreatened to walk, produced qa much better deal. He was not 100% forthcoming about the financing and there was alot of camouflaged stuff in the paperwork and in the discussion. Had I not been as educated about finance as I am, he would have cost us an extra few thousand on the deal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND FINANCING THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP WITHOUT DOING YOUR DUE DILIGENCE FIRST. Buyer beware of the dealership financing. But the sales experience was fine. My husband is happy with the truck and the value was fair. More
We found the SUV we wanted online, called and spoke with Mark, he was friendly and cut right to the chase because we were about 2 hours away. Then they looked over my trade in, pulled up information via the internet so that we were all talking "apples to apples". Once we came to an agreement, I met with other members of the staff, they were all exceptional in their professionalism! Probably the best part of the experience was a few minutes after we drove off the lot, the salesman Mark called to say that we left our garage door opener in the trade in! that was the nice thing to do, he didn't have to do that, but it showed that he cared and he knew we were excited to be driving our ne vehicle, so we missed the remote. It probably happens to a lot of people, and Mark could have just shrugged it off, but he didn't. he called right away and we made the short trip back to the dealer to retrieve our forgotten remote. As I pulled in, I spotted our trade in, just sitting there and for a moment I felt bad...but I know that it is a good little car and the folks at this dealership will find just the right owner. More
I just want to state how disappointed I am with my vehicle purchase. I bought a used, 2005 Saturn Vue (which is the vehicle type I was looking for) and now less than 4 months after I am having major i vehicle purchase. I bought a used, 2005 Saturn Vue (which is the vehicle type I was looking for) and now less than 4 months after I am having major issues. First of all, the man who sold me the vehicle (Roy)has terrible customer service skills and was a complete jerk most of the time. I also made him well aware that I needed a vehicle that was reliable and safe because I have a baby and am a full time college student. The first issue I started having only about a week after purchasing the vehicle which was a strut mount issue. I went to talk to Roy about my strut mount issue and he merely laughed and said someone would call me back... I never received a call. Now, my timing belt has to be completely replaced along with my engine valves. This is roughly $2,000 worth of repairs on a $6,500 vehicle in less than 4 months. I feel that I was taken advantage of because I am young and they could clearly tell I knew nothing about vehicles. It is so sad that you can't be treated with respect and get an honest opinion when asking for a vehicle that I can rely on for traveling to school and for my new baby. More
