This is the 4th time we have dealt with Van Horn Dodge. The service reviews were based on that prior service. In 2008 when the reviews on Dodge products took a turn for the worse, we bought a Ford crossover and were happy with that car. But here we are back at Van Horn Dodge, having just purchased a new 2011 Journey. The reviews and quality have improved considerably and we like the feel and ride of the Journey better than others we drove. Roy said he would work very hard for our business and he did. Van Horn didn't have exactly what we wanted on the lot so Roy found one in Indiana and they transported the vehicle to Plymouth for us. (Which also happened often in the past.) We live only about 6 mi from the dealership so appreciate the convenience of having the car brought to us. Of all the dealers we visited, we feel the best price was right here at Van Horn Dodge. Thanks, Roy, and all the support staff. More
This is the fifth vehicle I have purchased from Chuck Van Horn Dodge. I was able to upgrade from a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport TRX to a 2009 Laramie which was one year older but had lower mileage. I liked my Horn Dodge. I was able to upgrade from a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport TRX to a 2009 Laramie which was one year older but had lower mileage. I liked my other truck but am delighted with the styling and functional features of the new truck. I have also owned a 96 Intrepid, a 97 Laramie, and a 2000 Intrepid (which my daughter is still driving). My experiences over the years have been extremely positive. Everyone at the dealership has been courteous, helpful, knowledgable and friendly. My first contact with the dealership was with Chuck Van Horn himself, Richard Strong and Andy Buttram. Chuck and Richard still greet me in person if I am at the dealership or meet them in public. I think Andy my work at one of their sister dealerships. Chuck was instrumental in the purchase of my first three vehicles and I appreciated his interest in me even though he was the owner and not strictly in sales. I have worked with Mark Sloan for my last two purchases and also had a great experience with him. Over the years I have had the most contact with the service and parts departments at Van Horn since I have generally kept my vehicles for long periods of time. I cannot say enough about the quality of the work and treatment I have received during this time. I have especially been impressed by their ability to assess any problem I have had correctly and fix it the first time. Whether listening to my description or taking a test drive with my vehicle, they were able to accurately diagnose the problems or concerns I have had. I have also never felt that they were trying to add more work than was needed which I experienced at some other dealers. My vehicles have been dependable and high quality with relatively few problems but I have used Van Horn's parts and service for all regularly scheduled vehicle maintenance and have gotten to know the service writers, parts people and mechanics fairly well. When someone new has replaced a familiar person I have always found them to carry on from the good experience I have had with the past individual. I am not quite as comfortable with the purchasing of extended warranty coverage. This coverage has always seemed quite expensive and I have never had to use it. The number of programs, options and payments also seem a little confusing and there is little time to make a decision so I always feel a little pressured in the finance office. I am supposed to be able to either upgrade or cancel the coverage I just purchased within 60 days so that made me feel a little better about the latest transaction. It would help to discuss this and evaluate it prior to shopping for the vehicle so the customer would be more prepared to include the cost of the plan in his/her budget and choose the level which makes the best fit or decline it if that is the choice. It would also be helpful if there was some independent rating service to gauge the quality or value of the warranty coverage similar to the carfax type service for checking a vehicle. That is something I will try to plan for differently in the future. More
Bob was great to work with. I live in Ohio and had a trade-in. He was very accurate in describing the vehicle i was purchasing and answered all my questions. After a 7.5 hour drive i was pleased overa trade-in. He was very accurate in describing the vehicle i was purchasing and answered all my questions. After a 7.5 hour drive i was pleased overall with the vehicle and how he described it and the deal he got me on my trade. it was well worth the trip. And knowing my travel to get home he had me in and out in less than an hour! The detail shop could be a little more thorough in prepping cars, but overall it was a great experience and i would go back to them in the future (even with the distance). More

The sales person was extremely busy, which I understand and don't hold it against him - he needs to make a living just like the rest of us, but he needs to make each of us he is working with feel like we are the most important at the time, rather, we felt like we were keeping him from working with someone else. After we finished the deal the sales person tried to give us one key for the vehicle. He indicated he did not know if he could find the second key. He eventually did find a second key, but they should not sell a car with a single key, I think this was a ploy to get me to buy a second key for $150.00. Mats were not included when I picked up the car, eventhough mats were shown in the rear of the vehicle in the online photos - I still have the photo as proof. Overall, the little details soured my experience a bit. In my business I need to exceed expectations and I thought a car dealer would be trying to do the same not close a deal quickly to get onto the next deal or close a deal without the small stuff so the dealer can sell them to the buyer as add ons. My experience with Van Horn was extremely favorable for the following reasons: 1. Knowledgeable salesman (Paul Miller) who listened to exactly what I said wanted, made me aware of options I had not though the following reasons: 1. Knowledgeable salesman (Paul Miller) who listened to exactly what I said wanted, made me aware of options I had not thought of and articulated features in a clear yet comprehensive manner. Also, he was not pushy in any respect and worked with me to get a fair price and went above and beyond by arranging my transportation to take delivery of the vehicle. 2. The broader team did a great job with explaining the warranties available and helped tailored the financing and add-ons to what was best suited for me. 3. When I decided to buy another new vehicle I will certainly give them first shot at winning my business, which I fully expect they will succeed at again. More
Searching for competetively priced service vehicle. Dealership was very cooperative in offering a vehicle which would meet our needs. Would work with this dealership again. Dealership was very cooperative in offering a vehicle which would meet our needs. Would work with this dealership again. More
The staff at Van Horn dodge was extremely friendly, up-front and helpful. It was my first experience buying a brand new car, which can be a very stressful process, but they definately went the extra mi up-front and helpful. It was my first experience buying a brand new car, which can be a very stressful process, but they definately went the extra mile to get me what I wanted. They did not have the exact 2011 Jeep Liberty that I was looking for on the lot but they did not stop until they found it. Other dealerships tried to sway me to other models and trim levels. My sales person, Paul, was always available for questions and always responded to me the immediately. They are definately competitive and willing to work with you to get you the best deal possible. I would recommend Van Horn to anyone looking for a new vehicle. Very happy riding in style! More

Spent countless hours researching vehicle online and found a very fair price for vehicle of my choice.
