Wow. What an experience. We drove 1 1/2 hrs to Vaden Nissan in Hilton Head to purchase a vehicle. We were pre-approved with our lender so we were expec What an experience. We drove 1 1/2 hrs to Vaden Nissan in Hilton Head to purchase a vehicle. We were pre-approved with our lender so we were expecting to test drive the vehicle, sign some paperwork, and get back on the road. Easy, right?? When we test drove the vehicle, we noted a sign inside the vehicle marked “sold” with our last name on it. When we returned from the test drive, the salesperson brought a “numbers” sheet in by which we were immediately confused (since we were pre-approved). This sheet showed an interest rate that was double of what we were pre-approved for. When we inquired, she said she could take it back to her manager, but the payment amount would be the same amount regardless of the interest rate. What? She came back with a lower monthly payment and said that the extended warranty had been removed to lower the monthly payment. We never asked for an extended warranty and the interest rate was still higher than our approved rate (and there was no change to the principal amount). She stated that our lender quoted them a higher (double-digit) rate. At some point toward the end of this ordeal, the salesperson told the vehicle was sold. I got up to leave and she stopped me by saying, "but you still have first dibs." I called my lender while sitting in her office. The lender confirmed that the interest rate was the same as what they pre-approved and I asked them to send that info to the dealership. The lender responded that they had already sent the final approval to Vaden Nissan. When we went to speak to the manager about it, without even looking at my husband, he informed my husband that the truck had been sold; said “you had your chance.” We were astounded by the blatant dishonesty and selling the truck to another customer as we were sitting there trying to understand their inflated interest rate - WHEN WE WERE PREAPPROVED TO MAKE THE PURCHASE. We had gone to another Vaden dealer in Beaufort 5 days prior to purchase this same vehicle and got the run around. Told us the vehicle was in Savannah, then after waiting in Beaufort for 6 hours for the runner to bring it for a test drive, we were told it was sold. A few days later, we found the vehicle was still listed in the online Vaden inventory. The salesperson at Vaden Nissan HH said the vehicle was on their lot the whole time and they would hold it for us to come make the purchase the following day. So, two trips to Beaufort/Hilton Head to purchase this vehicle and we come home empty handed. I would not recommend any Vaden dealership in South Carolina unless you want to be treated unprofessionally, with complete dishonesty, and zero integrity. This was the worst experience. More
I have had a great time here at Nissan so far with the help of Thelyyy and Bernard and a few others. And in total my family has bought four 2020 and newer cars from Thelyyy and the service department is a help of Thelyyy and Bernard and a few others. I had to get an oil change the day before I went on a trip and they were able to squeeze me in and get my car finished in under 30 minutes. I recommend coming to Nissan to look for a car and i recommend thely because she will treat you like family and look for the best deal for you More
