Terrible An absolutely terrible experience with a dishonest sales staff. DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR FROM THIS DEALER! Vaden Nissan of Hilton Head truly gives car An absolutely terrible experience with a dishonest sales staff. DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR FROM THIS DEALER! Vaden Nissan of Hilton Head truly gives car salesmen a bad name. Before driving to the dealership to look at a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan Rogue, I called and spoke with Sales Manager Casey to ensure the vehicle was still on the lot. After confirming the car was still present, my wife and I went down to Vaden to meet with Casey who then passed us off to Sales Rep Grant. We test drove the car and everything seemed to be going well. We returned to the sales room and discussed very clearly with Grant the add-ons we would need to purchase the vehicle (a hitch and paint touch ups for scratches and scuffs on the car) as well as our price point. Grant went and retrieved Casey who, after being informed by Grant about the add-ons that we would require to purchase the vehicle, came in and met with us and told us the “lowest price” he could sell the car for - Grant wrote and circled the price writing “OTD” on the paperwork we had. Having our “Out the Door” price, we told them we would compare it with other cars we were researching with the same add-ons and promised to call them back (the other vehicles we were looking at were in GA and VA). The next evening, after reviewing all of our price options between the three vehicles, we decided that we wanted to keep the purchase local to South Carolina. So we called Grant back to confirm the car was still available and that we could still get the “OTD” price with the add-ons for the vehicle. We also requested an additional add-on (weather mats) and Grant said he would talk to his sales manager, Casey, and call us back. Grant called us back that evening and stated that the price would go up slightly with the newest add-on of weather mats but confirmed the price with the original add-ons of the hitch and paint touch ups would stay the same. We told him we would keep the original price with the original add-ons and at that point he scheduled a time for us to come in for closing the next morning. The next morning we touched base with Grant to get the proper name of the dealership for a cashier’s check and confirmed that we would be coming in that morning. Grant confirmed the name and made no mention of any changes in our agreement. We showed up at the Vaden dealership that morning, with our check in hand to purchase the car, and were greeted by Casey who again passed us off to Grant - still at this point neither of them made mention of a change in the agreement. We sat in Grant’s office and began the process of giving Grant our information to close on the car, and after taking our driver’s licenses and verifying our insurance information, Grant left the room. When Grant returned we were told by him that he had some “bad news” for us. He stated that they could no longer sell us the car with the add-ons we requested for the “OTD” price they gave us two days before and had confirmed for us over the phone the night prior. He then went on to say that he could only sell us the car without the add-ons we had agreed to for the price we had agreed to with the add-ons. When we sought clarification, he said that he just couldn’t do it. We requested at that point to speak with Sales Manager Casey again. Casey came in and said that when we met with him two days prior that he was not discussing with us the sales price with the add-ons of the hitch and paint touch ups, only the sales price of the vehicle itself. AT NO POINT during the conversation two days before did he mention that the “OTD” price was without the add-ons we had extensively and clearly discussed with Grant. Upon our questioning, Casey admitted that he had been made aware by Grant that we would only purchase the vehicle with the requested add-ons before he originally met with us two days before and giving us the lowest “OTD” price. However, when this came to light, Casey took the position that we had not talked directly to him about the add-ons (even though he had been made aware of them by his sales representative Grant and admitted that he knew we would require those add-ons to purchase the vehicle). There was clearly some ineffective communication happening between them, and what appeared to be deceptive communication from the Sales Manager Casey to us. We attempted to seek understanding where this miscommunication occurred, and we were essentially blamed for Casey’s lack of clarity and honesty in dealing with us the two days before. Not to mention blamed for what we were told the night before when we called to confirm the price with the add-ons! We told them that we felt like we were being bait and switched and Sales Manager Casey got very defensive and began to accuse us of making some “serious allegations.” We explained calmly to Casey why we felt that way and he then told us that if we were going to use those types of allegations that he didn’t want to do business with us. We told Casey again that we had the money on hand to still purchase the vehicle with the add-ons at the originally agreed to price and were told no. No apologies for the miscommunication, just blaming and ending the deal. They were dishonest in their communication and in the pricing that we had received and then blamed us - the customer! WHAT TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE! Truly pathetic customer service and unprofessional with pricing and agreement. What makes it worse, while we were waiting to be picked up from the dealership after this all happened, we saw Nissan’s Customer Promise policy, which is clearly posted on the sales floor and reads, in part: “We will respect your time...We will provide clear explanations of all pricing and paperwork...and We will treat you as a guest in our home”. Casey, Grant, and by association, Vaden, clearly failed to live up to any of these Nissan Customer Promises. They did not respect our time; they clearly did not provide “clear explanations of all pricing and paperwork”; and did not treat us as a guest - no, they blamed us! Really all they had to do was tell us the evening before that they couldn’t sell the car with the add-ons for the price we had agreed to, but instead they chose to deceive us to get us into the dealership, which we assume was to see if they could up-sell us or still sell us the car without the add-ons. No thank you Vaden. We will gladly take our business to a honest dealership. More
Biggest bunch of losers ever! In July of 2016 we leased a Nissan Rogue. The GSM Nelson Martinez tried to push through a deal behind the GM's back and mine the month before. We were In July of 2016 we leased a Nissan Rogue. The GSM Nelson Martinez tried to push through a deal behind the GM's back and mine the month before. We were totally ripped off on the original lease price and at first were paying for a leased vehicle we did not even have. NO one and I mean no one cared or wanted to help us. It was Nissan Leasing in Texas that leaned on Vaden to cancel the bogus June lease at a inflated price. It took over 3 months to straighten the mess. Martinez is gone, the gM is gone, and the sales person Melissa Gardner are gone. Talk about taking advantage of senior citizens! Stay away from Vaden. There service department is not much better More

BAIT AND SWITCH After completing a oil filter and oil change I received a "REPAIR ESTIMATE" for a "Brake Job - Rear (Replace Pads/Resurface Rotors) for the total sum After completing a oil filter and oil change I received a "REPAIR ESTIMATE" for a "Brake Job - Rear (Replace Pads/Resurface Rotors) for the total sum of $132.17. When I arrived home I called to make an appointment to have the Brake Job completed. When I arrived the next day at the service center the price of the job jumped to $232.00 +. Then the Service Advisor, Lorenzo Mitchell, claimed that what I received was not a "REPAIR ESTIMATE". It was only the cost of the materials. More
Wanted to trade in my car Wanted to trade my Rogue for a newer Rogue. Worked with Jay whom I originally thought was a sincere young man. Found the car I wanted, got it to the d Wanted to trade my Rogue for a newer Rogue. Worked with Jay whom I originally thought was a sincere young man. Found the car I wanted, got it to the dealership and met with us at the appointed time to make the deal. This is when it all fell apart. I was quoted a price that was much higher than anticipated so had to walk away from the deal. Hours later received a call from Jay to say I was quoted a price based on leather seats and not fabric seats by mistake and thus the quote of $4,000 more than it should have been. I was thrilled and wanted to make the deal with the $4000. Price adjustment. He was to text me the new updated sales agreement - that was 4 days ago and I have yet to receive it. He will not return my calls and when I call they say he is with a customer. We are out of state now so can not physically be present at the dealership now. We suspect there is something shady in this whole situation and the dealership will not honor the updated deal. More
Will never again buy from Vaden dealerships. To be fair we got the car we wanted at a price the price we wanted....However it wasn't easy. Very high pressure sales pitch!!! Wasn't impressed with To be fair we got the car we wanted at a price the price we wanted....However it wasn't easy. Very high pressure sales pitch!!! Wasn't impressed with the dealership ar all. My wife and I went to purchase a used Hyndai we saw online. Now we are very "sophisticated" buyers: we did extensive research before deciding to buy this particular car. We went to the dealership fully prepared with a information binder. At first we were assigned a relative new salesperson. When he went back and told the sales manager we had a binder with us they sent out a seasoned salesman....then the fun began. Being the end of the month, they were trying to sell us a new Nissan to make their quota . They made some pretty good pitches and as salesman do, they manipulated the numbers to make it look like we getting a better deal on a new car as opposed to the used car we wanted. We also had a car we were trading in. As you should always do, you first negotiate the price of the car you want to buy, then negotiate the value of your trade in. You treat as two separate transactions. Well after 5 hours of high pressure back and forth, we shut down the negotiations and stuck with the car we originally came in to buy. Apparently we pissed them off because they let us stew for an hour while they "prepped" the car. I eventually had to tell the salesperson we either get into finance and close the deal or we are walking out. BTW, We had a pre approved loan from our credit union so we didn't have to deal with the dealership financing. So after being abused for 6 hours we had our car. Now, they were supposed to put a full tank of gas in the car. When my wife noticed the fuel gauge was less then half, the salesman said he filled it up and the gauge wasn't reading correctly. At this point, I should've looked into this...but after being there for 6 hours I wanted to get the xxxx out of there (we had an hour drive back to our home in GA). Well we stopped and put gas in....they NEVER did fill up the tank...and the gas gauge does work. The xxxx salesman lied directly to us!!!! Oh, I also got about 500 less for my trade in because I didn't pick up on this until we left the dealership. Again being there for 6 hours, we were frazzled. In the future I will deal with Grainger or Savannah Hyundai dealerships. Had EXCELLENT experiences with those dealerships and was never pressured as I was at Vaden Nissan of Hilton Head?? More

Worse dealership ever! This place use to be pretty good until Vaden Nissan took over! We stop going to the dealership in Savannah because it was so horrible and started com This place use to be pretty good until Vaden Nissan took over! We stop going to the dealership in Savannah because it was so horrible and started coming to Hiltonhead. It is roughly about a 45 minute drive, which was well worth it until Vaden took over. We came in for warranty work on some broken items on our 2014 pathfinder. During the removal phase, the technician damaged the overhead cover by using the wrong tool to pry it off. We have been trying to get it fixed since July 2015 and finally they decide to order the part. They never called us, we would have to call them back every time and they always have to check but then they would return and say the part was never ordered or was on back order. They would tell us they will call when part comes in, but again 0 call back unless we call. Then they would say they have to order it again, so frustrating! We finally got all the warranty fixes done at Grainger Nissan with 0 problems from them but they could not do anything about the cover since Hiltonhead damaged the part. So we finally get them to order and get the part in, which took them over 2 hours to install a 5 minute part. Great turn around, yeah right. I even told them to give me the part and I will get Grainger Nissan to do it but they could not so I was stuck there at Hiltonhead forever!! This Nissan dealership as well as the one in Savannah owned by Vaden Nissan is by far the most horrible dealership I have dealt with in the last 25 years!! Avoid these guys if you can! More
