Beware of United Nissan: Unfair and Unkind, Especially to Women I had an incredibly disappointing experience at United Nissan that I feel compelled to share, especially with other women considering thi to Women I had an incredibly disappointing experience at United Nissan that I feel compelled to share, especially with other women considering this dealership. Late on a Friday night, I filled out a preapproval loan application. The very next morning, I received a call from Richard, who claimed to be a salesperson at United Nissan. After explaining my situation—including my credit score and the fact that I didn’t have a down payment—I made it clear that I didn’t want to waste my time if I wasn’t going to be approved. I emphasized that I’d have to Uber 30 minutes to get to the dealership, so I needed reassurance. Richard assured me that I was preapproved for $35,000 and urged me to come in, even though I told him I was looking for a car under $10,000. He confidently told me he could help and sent me a link to pre-pick my car. Richard asked for proof of income, so I sent him my bank statements from the past two months, as I had been an Uber driver. Again, I reiterated that I didn’t want to make the trip unless I was sure I could leave with a car. He assured me that the only thing that could hold up the process was a lack of insurance because he already had my bank statements, and I would just need to bring in my ID to prove who I was. Trusting his words, I even went as far as shopping for insurance. When I arrived, things took a turn for the worse. Richard immediately handed me off to another salesperson, despite our prior communication. I explained that I had already picked out a car, and he took my driver’s license information to pull the vehicle. However, he brought out a brand new car, far outside the price range I had specified. When I asked about the car I had selected, he said it had already been sold online. He then proceeded to show me other vehicles that were also out of my budget. Frustrated, I went back inside, where I was approached by a third person, a finance guy named Acton Snyder. Acton presented me with three different deals, but all required a $1,000 down payment—something I had clearly told Richard I couldn’t provide. Acton suggested I either come up with the money within a week or try a preapproval for a down payment. Reluctantly, I agreed to the preapproval, after which he mentioned a car that had just been brought in. However, the vehicle was in poor condition, so I returned inside. Acton then told me he needed to run a credit check, despite Richard’s assurance that I was already preapproved. Ten minutes later, Acton informed me that the car would be ready either the next day (Saturday) or Tuesday, depending on the workload. It is now Wednesday, September 11th, and I have heard nothing back from this dealership. To make matters worse, I noticed that they had erased the sales manager’s name on the biz card and wrote their own information in its place. This level of dishonesty is absolutely shocking. If you’re in need of a car, I strongly advise you to avoid United Nissan. This is by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever encountered at a dealership. In fact, if anyone asks me where to go for a Nissan, my answer will always be, “Never go to United Nissan.” I truly hope this review reaches the right people in management so that necessary training can be implemented to prevent this kind of treatment, especially toward women.
