Last year after the purchase I found a nail in the tire. I messaged them, and they didn’t dodge it: told me to come in, replaced it, apologized. Rare to see that kind of response. Stopped in to look at crossovers. Liked that the manager explained everything in plain language, no jargon. Didn’t buy right away, but planning to return - they earned my trust. I like to double check everything. Brought my mechanic friend to dig under the hood. And you know what? Nobody interfered. The manager even lifted the car himself. That builds trust. Unique Auto Mall: Unprofessional Swindlers Selling Lemons Using Unlawful Practices 1.0 Star – A Case Study in Deceptive Dealings Unique Auto Mall (South Amboy, NJ, under Dunhill Group) exemplifies unpr Using Unlawful Practices 1.0 Star – A Case Study in Deceptive Dealings Unique Auto Mall (South Amboy, NJ, under Dunhill Group) exemplifies unprofessionalism at its core, employing deceptive tactics to bamboozle customers into purchasing defective vehicles while flouting legal and ethical standards. I located their 2021 Range Rover Westminster P400 via CarGurus, where it was listed as a cash-available deal. However, they refused cash outright, mandating dealer financing with fabricated restrictions on early payoff—contravening CarGurus' explicit policy that prices "must be full cash prices available to any shopper" without requiring financing. This coerced structure, complete with hidden fees and "market adjustments," is not savvy salesmanship but a calculated violation of NJ Consumer Fraud Act (N.J.S.A. 56:8-1 et seq.), designed to extract undue commissions at the buyer's expense. The vehicle proved a quintessential lemon: transmission failure within 24 hours of August 9, 2025 purchase, rendering it inoperable. Note in the video that the Unique Auto Mall plate still on the front, fresh from the dealership. Second, a door lock malfunction trapped me inside (a serious safety breach dismissed by Director Scott Gillen as "perplexing. Lol" in texts). No way out -- door handle, power door lock, nor remote key fob -- would free me from the vehicle (watch video); and trunk electrical issues posing road hazards. All of this happened within the first 200 miles of purchase. Despite agreeing, in writing, that they would provide reimbursements for costly recommended repairs, they have withheld agreed reimbursements unless I signed a settlement waiving all rights—including non-disparagement clauses that silence criticism. As Scott G. conditioned: "Once signed, I will have the one time goodwill payment processed." This extortionate approach breaches N.J.S.A. 56:8-70 and reeks of a business model built on evasion rather than accountability. With an "F" BBB rating (23+ unresolved complaints), 1.9 Yelp stars (97 reviews of scams), and consistent fraud allegations across platforms, Unique Auto Mall's terrible people and irredeemable practices warrant avoidance. I've escalated to NJ Consumer Affairs. I have one appeal for you, potential buyer: avoid Unique Auto Mall at all costs. More
Small story: bought a used sedan, a couple weeks later the check engine light came on. Called them, they invited me in, cleaned the sensor, didn’t charge me. Didn’t plan to buy, just came to check some models. Two hours later I was driving a new Tahoe. Everything clicked - condition, price, the manager’s approach. Two hours later I was driving a new Tahoe. Everything clicked - condition, price, the manager’s approach. More
Bought my first car here. Not the fastest process, but everything was transparent. They gave me a test drive, explained the loan terms clearly. Felt confident and comfortable.
