Bad Experience I have never had any experience in any industry that was bad enough to compel me to write a bad review online. I am running a business which keeps me I have never had any experience in any industry that was bad enough to compel me to write a bad review online. I am running a business which keeps me extremely busy, have a wife and three kids who also need my time and attention. However, I strongly feel that this dealership treated me in a very bad and unfair way, therefore I decided to spend some time and share my experience with everyone considering purchasing a car from these people. I was specifically looking to buy a Lexus GX 470 and a month ago ended up getting it from Ultimate Motor Cars in St. Augustine. I found this car on cargurus.com and same day came with my wife in the afternoon to test-drive the vehicle. Everything seemed fine at that time, both of us liked the car, so we came back in the evening to pay and sign the paperwork. Final price came out ok, even a bit higher than NADA or KBB suggested for the same vehicle in an excellent condition. Plus, on the top of that, they charged me an extra fee of $695 (dealership fee). While getting the documents finalized, Brad (GM) sent our sales rep Shayne to put some gas in the car as the fuel tank was empty. When Shayne returned and we were getting ready to leave, I realized that the check engine light (CEL) was on. I asked Brad about it and his answer was that Shayne probably did not close the fuel cap all the way. Since I've already had experience using the OBD ll Car Diagnostic Scanner, I trusted Brad and when came home went ahead and deleted the codes. Next morning the lights came back. Since then I went back to the dealership five times to see Greg (lead mechanic, who claims to have over 30 years of experience). When picking up the car each time I was assured that the car is fixed and the problem is now gone but next morning the CEL was coming back. Last time Greg started blaming me for it and wanted me to pay $350 to do the repairs. I could not believe him! After having to bring the car back to him from Jacksonville several times plus being without the vehicle for several days, I was back to square one - the check engine light was still on for the exact same codes. No documentation or paperwork in reference to any repairs that were done on the vehicle was ever given to me, so I have no idea what these people were doing with my car for so many days... After having an unpleasant conversation with Greg, I asked him to have Eric (the owner) call me and he said he'll text him my number. I have also called the dealership multiple times and asked for Eric or Brad to call me back, but all of my requests kept being ignored. I know that Brad got my request for a call back at least a couple of times, however he seems not to care at all about his customers. To be honest, spending an extra $350 will not change my lifestyle. The question here is - why do I have to pay this money to a dealership that sold a car to me with a problem and now wants me to pay more money to fix it? Well, if you don't want to go through the same problems, stay away from this dealership! They'll be glad to take your money but should a problem come up, be prepared to pay more. More
Amazing Experience I have never dealt with such an amazing used car dealership in my life. Let me explain. I had been searching for a used Dodge Dakota, which is not mad I have never dealt with such an amazing used car dealership in my life. Let me explain. I had been searching for a used Dodge Dakota, which is not made anymore since March of this year. There have been a bunch out there, but I was looking for just the right one. That is what I found at Ultimate Motor Cars in St. Augustine. They had just the right one, 2006 Dakota with everything I was looking, but there were a few problems. It needed a couple of things, for one new tires on the front. But Shane,Patrick & Greg at Ultimate took care of that. After the tires were put on it needed an alignment, the alignment machine broke down. We drove up from Sebastian to view the Festival of Lights they have every year in St. Augustine, so we were just there for the weekend. They said they could have it ready by Monday. I told them we were just here for the weekend and I wasn't driving back from Sebastian to pick up the truck ( a 3 hr drive ). After the wife and I were relaxing on the beach on Saturday morning, we received a phone call from Shane, telling us they found more problems and they needed to fix them before they can do the alignment. But we were not to worry because when they were finished they would drive it to Sebastian for us. I almost fell out of my chair. I have never dealt with a dealership that would go out of their way to drop a car off to one of it's customers 3hrs away. They said and did everything they told us. I would recommend them highly, they live by their word, and come through with everything they promise. Thanks again, Shane, Patrick & Greg For everything. Duke & Judy Heffer from Sebastian More
Scammed my down payment and bad customer service I went in to Ultimate Motor Cars to see what I could be approved for and what my payment would look like. I wasn't even sure I wanted to buy a car yet I went in to Ultimate Motor Cars to see what I could be approved for and what my payment would look like. I wasn't even sure I wanted to buy a car yet. The salesman were very pushy and made it pretty much impossible for me to say no. It seemed as if everything was fine with my loan and I put 500 down on my car. A week or so later they said they were having a hard time closing my loan and assured me everything would be fine. I had my car almost 3 weeks before they told me I couldn't get financing on my car. I was steadily racking miles up on the car during this time period. My options were to buy another car for less money or get my trade in back. I chose to get my trade in back and they refused to give me my down payment back. They stated they weren't giving it back because of the miles I put on the car. To which I'm thinking why'd I ever get to take it home if the loan wasn't going through and why did they let me keep the car so long. They also said they were keeping it because they detailed my trade in. How is that my fault when they knew my loan was falling through? That should be on their company. They were unprofessional texting me at around 10 PM at night sometimes and rude over the phone. One in particular had a very sarcastic answer for everything that made me feel about 5 inches tall. In short, ultimate motor cars will scam your money and their customer service is horrible. I forgot to mention that when I got my trade in back all of the floor mats are missing. Good luck if you buy from this company. I wouldn't give them any money until you're sure your loan has or will go through! More
